I was fighting for an hour just to get the screws out of the resistor reaching through the hole of the glove box!! 😅
Unfortunately, the internet was out on my phone.
2 hours later, my internet's back and I find your video!! Thank you, now I'm going to try it the easy way! 😅

Thanks for this Robert !! After being told by a Honda garage that this was an impossibly difficult job so we best just put up with either no blow or max blow... a year on and at last, sanity is restored here. Thanks again.

My fit resistor failure was caused by a bad blower bearing at 40K miles. Don't fit a new resistor before checking the blower for stiffness or it will fail again.Mine lasted 30 seconds! Both jobs are a bit of a pain as the parts are up under the dash but not imposssible for a guy in his 60s.

+John Peck Agree. Bad blower bearing will overload and burn out new resistor. A bit of a pain to get to. Long phillips screwdriver through glovebox cavity after removing glovebox door and squeezing sides of box while pivoting rearward, may offer alternative access than under the dash.

Just stopped in to say thank you for posting this Vid. I have a 2007 Honda Fit and it’s very easy to replace the resistor and Motor Blower and I just replaced both today and my AC is running smooth 👍

If your blower is making a clicking sound like a card in bicycle spokes, your fan is either obstructed or the bearing is failing. Running the fan like that can cause the resistor to fail. Replacing the resistor will not repair a bad blower.

Agreed, replace resistor pack only if the fan sounds normal. No audible defects.

thank you for the video Robert, how do you check to see if the blower is the bad part?

This came up in Google Search. Good vid but note: people on forums who only replaced their resistor are coming back to note that it failed again due to the blower motor being the main issue. Might be worth replacing both at the same time(can get both on Amazon for about 80 bucks). Cheers!

      Thanks for the comment JW!
It's a good thing for people to know. For me It's a risk/reward thing. The blower can be the root of the problem no doubt. I've replaced several packs but never twice on the same car. At least so far :)

I also wanted to add for people to read John Beck's comment about checking the blower for any drag before is easy enough, also if the blower does not sound right another sign to replace the blower of course.

The first time I looked this up, there was no mention of a potential problem with the blower motor. I replaced two packs and they both blew out within minutes. Honda said they would replace the second pack for me, we'll see if that really happens. Going to check the motor for drag and go from there.

I have this same problem. So did just changing the resistor do it for you? I've seen stories about the blower needing to be replaced too. Thanks for the video.

cogenman my problem I had was when I would turn on AC the motor blower would struggle to start up then it would make a noise like something was jammed and not letting the fan turn properly and when it did get going it would only blow air on the highest setting. I went ahead and replaced the Motor blower fan and the resistor and now my AC is working just fine 😎

Great video - Can you please explain how to remove those two screws on resistor? I am having the hardest time reaching the head to remove them. Any tricks?
