- Fishing a creek with CRICKETS for the First Time!! We head out to go exploring and fishing a crystal clear creek for whatever bites! One thing about creek fishing is that you never know what could possibly be swimming around! Would crickets get more fish or different fish to bite vs worms? It feels good to be back fishing in Delaware. I actually can't believe I caught what I did.. I did not expect for this to happen..
Again, I want to thank each and every one of you for the support! At the time of this upload we just passed 542,000 I'm having so much fun making these videos, lets keep this rolling!

tight lines
Have you ever tried fishing with crickets before?? 🎣🤔
I found a slug in grass one time while out fishing, put it on a size 12 and caught a half pound perch straight away
All the time in mississippi
Can we get a fly fishing video
No but meal worms work
Bluegill candy. Used them forever in NC
Still here after years of watching
Slow down the cap bro
@@Jared-gk8efit’s not cap tho

I see why you always come back
I think those wish things are called Dandelions 🏵
Thank You! I really needed a FirstState video today! I like to see you back in the creeks. Grasshoppers stay on the hook better than crickets, but you have to catch them yourself. They are great bait. In the Midwest, prime grasshopper time is July and August.
Same here in New Mexico nothing better then a good grasshopper
another nice vid, also quick tip, to avoid ticks get mint spray and spray your ankles/wrists. also chewing mint gum and getting the saliva with the mint smell/flavour on your legs/arms also does the trick since ticks hate the smell of mint, learned this in the scouts and camping
Hey first state me and my dad have been watching you for about 5 years you have taught us so much about fishing thank you so much
I have many wonderful memories of my dad and I going to the bait store to get crickets. We’d be at the lake for hours catching brim sometimes bass with the crickets. We used a cane pole and bobber for it!
I love creek fishing and catching those little 5 oz minnows. Really just gets you out in nature. Love the relatable creek fishing content man keep it up!
You are what inspired me to fish
They will float and creat movement if you take off the split shot off. Fish love it
Great video bud creek fishing is awesome the crickets are a great bait but definitely hard to keep on a hook
Love the catch and cook videos, especially with crabbing. Keep up the good work.
Most bait shops in Kentucky at least they sell the big bait crickets and a cricket tubes or baskets which makes it easier to get one out at a time
I fish with crickets all of the time and catch bass and more!
The other day I went fishing in a secret pond and reeled in 10 + bluegill
I love crickets
Same
1:12 that is a dandelion! Apparently edible in certain foods and drinks
I feel that struggle lol if a video isn’t going how I intend for it to, I try to think of other ways to make it into a video. I like keeping my content relatable to the average joe, like you said ya ain’t always gonna catch big fish or a lot of fish 🤙🏼
I love watching your videos, but when you called a dandelion a 'wisher' I was all like... oh. This man has, like, cleared his mind. Now he only knows fishing and breathing.
lol, I'm joking. Respect. You're now the Buddha of Fishing to me, though.
Life is like fishing with First state, you never know what you'll get.
We catch trout in out lakes in california on that cricket color "fire tiger" but as a shad. Try it
Wow I remember when you would you catch and cook creek fishing challenges with Takis or Doritos, cool to see how long it been
Like your catch and cooking a long the river
Fr though i really appreciate how you haven’t pledged an allegiance to one fishing company. Like a ton of fishing guys out there will religiously fish with one brand of lure but nah you just fish what you think looks good.
Creek fishing videos are best ❤
Need more of these creek fishing videos back pls!
Great video watched the whole thing ❤❤❤
Have to go further down the bend to the trestle, better action. 11:48 marker still has some trout by the tree trunk, hitting meal worms.
I was coming to CZcams everyday waiting for another video 🤣🤣
I even rewatch your 4 to 5 year old videos
Damn bro you’ve had that boot on since pre lockdown 😂
Next time u do crickets I would recommend no. Weight it floats down and looks natural
Hot day. Good day to creek fishing. 👍
A bobber sometimes works well.Bluegills and Largemouth Bass and Smallmouth like them.
Love the back blocks.. but it's time for some salt water action...
Yes, l have. Pro tip, you have to let the cricket sit on the water
Great video as always! Why not check out some of the piers in NJ? Also great crabbing
As a kid here in Texas we just walked through tall grass a snatched the grass hoppers that landed on us and 0ut them in a jug on the way to the fishing spot or went to Walmart and caught a bunch of crickets by the cart return
I know a little creek secret. Red wigglers are easy to find and cheep. If you hook them once on the same rig you'll get a lot more bites and some different fish since the looks more natural. Course ya do go through mre worms. Nice smally at the end too. If he's in there. Gotta be a few monsters in there too.👍😄
Was literally watching some of your older vids when I got the notification 😅
Throw the hellgrammites !
blue gill buffet!! og style!!
In South Carolina growing up crickets were our main freshwater bait I have caught everything from bluegill to bowfins on crickets
I call them dandelions 😂
Hey first state fishing. Love the videos. your an amazing CZcamsr and keep up the great work. I love fishing and would love it if you and I did some bass fishing in my home state of Vermont!
Come to Hawaii bro
That location got hit hard this year!!!
Nice video man
I think you need to camp the OBX and try some surf fishing and sound side stuff.
Almost all bait stores in our area have crickets. One of the best pan fish baits you can buy. I have even found crickets in Academy sports around the south area here.
Cool video!
🔥🔥
I watch every video
We fish with literal bread and put it on the smallest hook we got in hand. Catch all sorts of fish like tilapia and regular creek fish. Don’t need nothing extreme
14:23 Said that same thing after waking up next to a gibbon in Southeast Asia.
Gas vid bro
Crick hoppers are the best
funny video nice
You should do temu fishing challenge
I use crickets during ice fishing season here in New Mexico they work great
New Mexico? It be cold there?
I like to see yr videos
First stateee
You should try waxworms they do the trick I use them all the time for trout and crappie
bestttt
Can u please get back to the cape henlopen state park when the spot are running
😮💨
That butterfly you saw wasn’t a butterfly but actually a grass hoper
There's a small river where I grew up but never seen anyone fish it every body just swims there. I think ima try it in the week. I know they stalk trout in that river but up in the mountains I'm down at the bottom. Soooo maybe????
The wisher is a dandelion but they die and release their seeds like that
For the crickets and grasshoppers to stay on better hook the cricket through the butt and go throughout the head
Dandelions
Crickets will catch anything. I have caught more creek trout on crickets than anything else. You need a cricket cage so they can get air.
Only thing special about Delaware is no taxes
i liike the worms
God, dude acts like he doesn't know anything. Said he didn't know the difference between a cricket and a grasshopper, didn't know what a dandelion was. How the fuck do you not know what a dandelion is🤦♂️. Only lizard he could name was a comdo dragon😂
How are you hooking your crickets?
Those are called dandelions
Hey FirstState, do you happen to have any merchandise?
Hello
how do you set up this rod to do this? and how is it called? can someone explain?
What creek is this? I’m also from Delaware and looking for new fishing spots.
Vid 8 of asking to do a deep sea fishing vid
Use a small float next time.
How deep is that creek. I’d stage those crickets on a bobber
Sheepshead will bite crickets. I saw a video the other day and l guy was fishing under a bridge and catching Sheepsheads.l think he was fishing in Louisiana.
Use chicken liver next
Ur supposed to fish without weights so it floats and like 100% u will get an fish bite
It is called a dandelion
How come we never see you fishing the Delaware BAY/Delaware RIVER?
14:23 Ayo!? 🤨😳
Crickets make great bait but you really only get one chance to set the hook..
Have you tried using circle hooks?
@@licon452 Nope. haven't tried those with crickets yet. might do that one day. my favorite bluegill bait is red worms. they work even better than night crawlers sometimes.
What rod is that ?
Day 4 of asking for a gar fishing vid
Early gang 🙂
Where is the baitcaster?
The flower you called a wisher we always called them dandy Lions growing up in GA
More salt water dude I'm from South Africa
Unpopular opinion but Crickets are my least favorite live bait to fish with.
Caught good ones with them but not my personal favorite
Those are dandelions you grab them you blow on them and make a wish
If water is suitable for oxygen, food and protection that's where they'll be. Last but not least for breeding. The 4 factors they focus on in the summer. Fish are primed for breathing, safety feeding and breeding thats it. Fish dont have logic or reasoning.
