    0.00min: Intro
I take you through some drills and show you progressions as to how to get a great long jump take-off
I talk about positioning prior to take-off as being crucial and also the importance of getting a take-off drive.
    0.50min: First part of session
Mat/platform on third step to take-off drill - performed on track (not at pit).
You'll see many of my jumpers in action.
I recommend a low intensity and quite a high number of reps to really learn the specific movements.
1.39min: I go through the drill's specific technical requirements
    1.59min: Second part of session
2 Mat drill done at pit. Mat on third step out and on take-off
This is to develop greater speed through take-off.
I explain the technique required of the drill.
2,50min: Focus on Ignatius and his jumps from a full run-up.
He had a competition coming up so wanted to try to learn the take-off at speed. As you will see in the video he did well. I also show some take-offs where he did not do so well and explain why.
3.24min: Dividing the jump into thirds
This is so the jumper understands how to distribute the phases of their jump.
Without the mats we want the same take-off step pattern as achieved on the drills.
4.11min: More on the use of mats
There are numerous permutations for use.
4.37min: When this type of session is used.
    4.50min: Summing up

Do long jumpers have the same training schema as short sprinters (100m-200m)? What I mean by training schema is the same weight training, sprint training etc?

In short no. Long jumpers need to be really explosive and reactive in terms of elastic strength. Sprinters can get away with less elastic ability and even plyometric ability. A long jumper's sprint in their run-way and this is the paramount focus of their sprint training. So, they need to hit the board at optimum speed and with the right set up on the steps before the board. Sprinters of course need to work more on their starts and accelerations and sprint and speed endurance. Weights and plyometrics would also be different although there would be some commonality. Hope this very short response helps.
