Brava! This is one of my favorite Debussy pieces. And the rubato was *just right*. I don't like when pianists exaggerate and make a "rubber-band-ato". Bella interpretación! ❤

This is the most beautiful interpretation. I love when people leave the sustain pedal on for a while after the fast upwards run (at 3:09) and you can hear the rich sonority of all the notes. I really loved how you let them ring as long as possible without bleeding into the downwards part which might cause an unpleasant sound. Also I’m interested in playing this piece and I was wondering if you had any tips. Thanks!
I've just re-listened to this after you posted that snippet to togetherwithclassical. So the "living room experiment" was test-performing it for us here instead of with the typical live audience? I don't think I've heard this piece before. He used harmonies here in a beautifully jazz-friendly way, and you played it with just the right sense of nuance. I'd say the experiment is a success!! :)
Yes, CZcams is my playground to experiment for me, but this experiment of process is the real journey also. I just have to ditch the idea of perfectionist and always strive to be better regardless of the stage I am in with any given piece. I guess that it would require non-perfectionist audience to make that happen also. 😅 thank you for the comment!
