- So normally between now and mid July Tarpon start rolling here pretty heavy! Unfortunately this trip was still a little early but I was able to use my back up plan and catch some nice snook!

Combos I used where 2 Penn Battle 3's 2500 on 7' Penn Battle Rods, a Penn Battle 3 DX 3000 on a 7' Fenwick Inshore HMG and a Penn Spinfisher VII 2500 on a 7’ 6” Fenwick Inshore HMG @Fenwickfishing @PENNfishing
I used 10lb power pro on all of my combos
30 lb @SeaguarChannel fluorocarbon
All my soft plastics and weedless hooks were @ZManFishingProducts
My Jig heads were the trout eye by eyestrikefishing - Zábava
Thank you for the knowledge, just moved up to punta gorda, been trying to lock these fish down, throwing the NLBN 5" lil mulletwith lots of blowups, but no connections. I will definitely be using the tips you gave and give you the results.
Thanks for watching! I tried those NLBN lil mullets and had the same issue. It’s such a thick harder plastic it makes it hard for a good hook set.
Definitely was a beautiful morning and that mulletron looks like it would be good for those larger snook too! 🎣🚣♂️🤙🏻
Yea it was a nice day out there! Just can’t wait for them poon to be rolling. That’s my go to spot when they get there!

Yes I launch at the boat launch. I go out to the main river then head north! Shell creek is far from there so I’d use a different launch to go there. Thank you for watching!

Nice trip, do you like to fish that area in the winter or just early summer?
I normally only go there when the tarpon are rolling heavy.

Depends on temps and rain. Normally they will start showing up late June to early July
How are noseeems over there?
I didn’t have any issues when I went but I was quick to get on the water. Only issue I had in the water was horse flies.
