Just looking at all these deaths I just have to appreciate how incredible the sound design is. Everything is so seamless; the sounds of bullets ricocheting, tires losing traction, everything. I just can’t imagine having to program a bullet to make a different sound based on what it hits, recognize when it hits something, shooting in a specific direction...it must be really difficult but the player hardly notices it unless it’s imperfect. I’ve never noticed anything strange about the audio in the Uncharted series, and as far as I can remember, at least once for each of the other games I play, I have noticed some sound oddities. Not with any Uncharted game!
Just really incredible what these games could do all way back in 2009! While other companies were making graphically simplistic Wii games, the Sims, Guitar Hero, bland-looking FIFA 10, here was a game that would be visually and programming-ly amazing if it was released today. I mean, that building destruction scene ELEVEN years ago? Where you are INSIDE of the building and it’s all programmed to be physics-based rather than other games where you just see a big ExplodyMcBoomBoom from miles away? It’s just stunning! The only game that I can think of that even moderately could come close is Grand Theft Auto IV, but that still doesn’t stand that much of a chance.
