- The video is to honor the great Filipino singer and entertainer SAM SARONO who sadly passed away in 2008 from prostate cancer. This is a tribute in his honor in remembering his gift and talent he shared with the world. This video clip is from STARS IN THEIR EYES

I had the great privilege of working with Sam back in 1988. I was a young (16-year-old) keyboard player in the resident band at the Warner Holiday Camp in St Ives, Cornwall, UK, and Sam - along with his own trio - cam along every two weeks as the guest cabaret act. Picture it: a huge room full of people on holiday, full of beer, and then comes on Sam. He drove them wild. For his finale, he would always perform a medley from Jesus Christ Superstar. It stopped all the drunks dead in their tracks, and made them - and me - cry. Off stage, Sam was one of the most gracious men I had - and have ever met - in my life. On his final week at the end of the summer season, he prepared us all a BBQ, and we had a ball. Ironically, now 48, I am married with one two-year-old daughter and another on the way - and am living in the Philippines:) Fly high, Sam.
I idolized Sam , its just because, im a Filipino, and Filipinos loves western musics, like this song.

I worked with SAMSON his name when he was working on 1971, 1972 with Kiko Gatchalian and Hi's Coconut Groove Orchestra at Clark Airforce Base Angeles City, Philipines entertaming American troops during the Vietnam War.. he's a nice guy..really nice guy...sorry to hear that he passed away....Rest in peace SAMSON...
