    Thanks to Karen Campbell, I have found your channel!! I agree, you DO make it look so easy. Only recently have I "watercoloured" & use term loosely. Your piece is beautiful, I'll look forward to seeing more of your videos. Thank YOU, for sharing and "Thank you, Karen!!" (I think she'll hear that, lol). Caroline 😁🎨😊

      @@LucyBrydonArt I think what confuses me most as a beginner is the shading and highlighting to get realistic effects. A video on that would be awesome! Thanks😊

    Thanks to Karen Campbell I have discovered you. I have always struggled with watercolours and found this video informative and look forward to watching more along with your gelli printing which I am new to. I have subscribed too. Thanks Karen ;)

    Thanks so much for sharing this Lucy. I just want to go and get my watercolours out and paint leaves. I love the different shapes of your leaves and the tip about two jars of water and using a syringe to add water to the pallet. I usually just dip my brush in the one jar of water lol!

      Carol Rigby thanks! Yes it’s good to have clean water keeps everything from getting muddy!

    Very nice. I do not paint, but my husband does and when he retired, I got him watercolor paint, which I was told was the hardest to learn. Well he picked it right up. We live in Nevada in the desert and the paints dry so quickly. I love how you explained the water difference and to keep one clean. After seeing this I might have to try one. What are the better watercolor paints? I might have to get him those. Not sure what I got him in the first place. lol. New subbie here and going to go look at some other videos.

      thanks! i heard watercolours are the hardest too but I dont necessarily think thats true I think its a personal thing cause I took to them right away and prefer them to acrylic! If you want professional watercolour paints then I love Schmincke, Winsor and Newton and Daniel Smith but if you are just trying out then these student grade Winsor and Newton are pretty good actually!

    You make it look so easy... I am off to play! I always have a problem with paint leaking into my taped off area. Do you have any tips for that? Thank you !

    • @LucyBrydonArt
      @LucyBrydonArt  Před 5 lety +1

      Natalie Robinson maybe is the tape you are using? Or too much water on your paper? I’m using frog tape I think it’s called which is more expensive masking tape but it’s more costly which is the draw back
