    Wow!!! Now that was great, they were all good but loved the Mobius. I would love to hear more. Thank you and all the best for the new year. ;^)

    Thank you for a seriously interesting review of pedals for synths. This is the first time I have watched your work, it will not be the last, First class sir.

    29:00 The Strymon Mobius' Quadratune patch had me, at least with that particular KORG minilogue XD patch. A layering of slurred bells slapping atop one another. Neat sound. For a moment it became clear, ("in phase?"). Neat.

    I sold the nightsky to get the bigsky. Overall I found more uses for the bigsky, but the nightsky can get very weird/unique. I think the mobius goes the weirdest/most interesting places with synths.

      Completely understand your stance. The Nightsky is an odd bird that offers a palette of options that's not necessarily suitable for all types of music. The Big Sky, in my honest opinion, the best reverb pedal on the market. And if you want to incorporate multiple algorithms into your productions, you can always add as a effects loop in your DAW and print passes. Both are great, but the Big Sky will probably see more use.

    timeline sounds really cold imho. and the volante sadly can not do the "old tape"-fx from the el capistan 😞 as the "big" tape-delay it should be able to do everything from the small ones. and spring-reverbs is something a lot of people dont like 🤷

    I was under the impression that you could use a simple MIDI USB C interface cable to connect your BigSky/TimeLine/Mobius to a computer. I know you can do that to manage your presets, so I assume it also works to interface with your DAW. There is some info and cable recommendations for this on the Strymon site. So no need for a USB mini port. Can anyone confirm?

    • @rdean150
      @rdean150 Před rokem

      Yeah I'm pretty sure the only one of these that can't do that is the Volante. It does still allow for MIDI clock sync and preset selection though.

    Great stuff! Your enthusiasm is infectious. Any thoughts on a stereo distortion/saturation/fuzz option?

    • @midichlorian73
      @midichlorian73 Před 2 lety +1

      Great question. In the analog domain, I can't think of anything off the top of my head. Normally, I would run the output of a distortion pedal into something that's stereo, like a delay/chorus/etc.

    • @Jessebeauchamp
      @Jessebeauchamp Před 2 lety

      @@midichlorian73 Thanks, yeah that's probably the best solution. Though it always seemed odd to me to bring a stereo signal from a synth down to mono for saturation and then back up to stereo with delay/chorus. Maybe I'll try putting a big muff on each channel and see where it gets me...

    • @midichlorian73
      @midichlorian73 Před 2 lety

      @@Jessebeauchamp Thanks for the clarification. I just assumed you were starting with a mono signal! If stereo signal the case, then I'm at a loss. Let me dig in and see what I can find!

      There is the stereo cab option from styrmon. I’m looking for the same thing. Does anyone know if the mobius hits that real distortion level?
