    If I recall correctly it was always Univox. Korg had nothing to do with it until maybe 85-87 when they bought it. I remember messing around with one in a music store in the '70s and it clearly read Univox. They also had some effects boxes that were good - along with Musictronics (Mutron), Maestro etc.. I was always an ARP man not Moog or anything else.. This particular synthesizer was put on the map by Gino Vannelli (Joe) - He was able to get more out of it than anybody else that I heard.

    In your demo i would say the m has more body it sounds more natural. the modwave is a bit thinner if it goes bold it brings not the fundament of the m. but in the mid/hi area it sounds very nice and ambient ready. the m goes from where the mw2xt ended i would say. Both are very usable for their strengths.

    Oberheim definitely isn’t a one size fits all synth. Just as an artist will go to different paint manufacturers, so is the same for specific synths. Oberheim is more of a character synth.

    If you choose outside of the few flagship vintage synths, like the Jupiters, the Juno-6/60/106, Oberheims, Prophets, CSs etc., you can actually get really nice stuff for fairly little money. And outside of mini-key models or Behringer, the price of modern synths is actually quite high in many cases. It depends a bit on what you want, but brand new synths are actually not generally very affordable. It also depends greatly on what kind of sounds you want to get out of them. I wholeheartedly agree with the argument about maintenance and such with vintage gear though. That is an obvious downside.

    Another point worth mentioning is that a paraphonic synth can use only one oscillator for each note of a chord while a polysynth (generally) has two oscillators for each voice, so a polysynth can produce much richer timbres than a monosynth played paraphonically.

    16-bit vs. 24 bits: Older modules, such as the JV series, use 16 bits, which was common at the time. Newer models, such as the Integra-7 and the XV series, use 24 bits, allowing for better sound quality with more detail and a wider dynamic range. 24-bit: 24-bit depth offers greater resolution and is capable of capturing and reproducing a wider range of dynamics, which is especially important for complex, expressive sounds.

      @fochtyu2694 Před 17 dny

      No, it does not have tone generator like that on D-50. M1 has 8x ROM capacity than D-50, which enables it to use full length PCM sample, so its acoustical instruments are much more realistic. M1 has Saw, Squ, etc 'analogue' waveforms, but those are also sampled rather than generated.
