i genuinely find this the best in detail and explanation, THE most relaxing and its highly thought-out and just perfect. I appreciate this tutorial and i practiced my hairpins using your method and it worked tremendously Thank you so much mate. Cheers!!!
What a chilled voice, very relaxing :D anyway, thanks for the tutorial! what helped me the most was the "dont throw your car around, DRIVE it around" part...sounds so easy and logic if you think about it and yet i always threw it around like a wet towel going from 4th into 1st gear in the process just to somehow keep it moving xD thanks a lot :)
Thank you. Some people call my voice boring, so your comment about it being relaxing is very appreciated :) Yes, best way to drive on loose surface, is to try and drive like you're not on a loose surface ;)
I'm going to take that as a compliment. I did consider making a longer, simple, spoken word video in fact, for the purposes of relaxing people. You're not the first to say something of the sort.
I've always been confident with my handbrake turns but have never really thought about how I'd put it into words, I just do it. The eloquence of your explanation is something I'd never be able to do, so I'm off to see if there are more tutorials on your channel. I wonder if there's a market for intelligent, soothing ASMR rally technique tutorials, being relaxed and educated about something as hectic as rallying is a very zen experience that's for sure.
I've been watching some of your other videos, relaxing education with verbal valium. You may think you ramble on in your tutorials but I don't agree, sometimes things that seem simple need a little over-explanation to get your point across especially with the intricacies of rally driving. Along with Janne Laahanen (who I only discovered only a few weeks ago) you guys are ridiculously unsubbed. It's a shame smaller channels like yours, GamerMuscle, Jimmy Broadbent, Simpit, Sim Racing Paddock, The Extra Mile, Empty Box, etc that provide great content and education for the Sim Community don't seem to get picked up like 'Team VVV' or 'Inside Sim Racing TV' do, who at the end of the day just seem to make a heap of noise yet provide little substance. Anyway cool channel dude, laid back ASMR rally lessons is the way to go..!
Hm I have only played the game for an hour in a mini and I was having a hard time dealing with sharp turns on hairpins this video was quite helpful thank you very much
Ah, i play without clutch. As I understand it, you may need to clutch-in while executing the tightest of hairpins, clutch-out as you reach corner exit. If this doesn't answer your question, i recommend you seek help elsewhere as I feel my knowledge will be of no further help.
thank you very much!! just tried it now at it really helped me drive faster on hairpins. how did you rotate the camera free on 3:47? btw your chilled voice can get you a job as a co driver...
I have a huge problem in slowing down before the hairpin, basically either I slow too much and the car almost stops before the turn, making it impossible to do a handbrake turn, or even thought I'm slowing the momentum is too high and the car goes straight into the rail... Being practicing and it's the only thing that I haven't learnt yet
Try this. About 1.5 seconds before the braking zone, just come off the throttle. This should give you loads of time to start gently braking and assessing it's impact. Eventually you'll get a feeling for the braking.
Great tutorial! I always thought Im gonna need a wheel to drive well in Dirt Rally And I always crash at hairpin turn or acute turn. But it seems a controller can do all those magic things too! Thank you😀
but as i handbrake into the corner its like my engine dies and goes into first gear and no wheel spin ahhhh its so annoying do i have to set my car's diff up? or shorten 1st gear? someone please answer
ok so im using a RWD car, whenever i go into a corner like that hairpin the back end never flicks out that far, then if it does. I accelerate and it leaves me going into a spin...
I'm probably the only person who's annoyed by the spelling error in the URL on the back of the car. There's an A missing... It should be hardmetaalAfval.nl
You are the least enthusiastic content creator I have ever watched - are you recording at your parent's house at 4am or something? I couldn't hear you because not only was I asleep during this, but also, my ears have killed themselves, thanks
Lmao you didn't teach me shit - couldn't hear your personality over your slow as fuck pacing. Nice use of background static, by the way - really ephasises the "I'm 16 in my bedroom" vibe that you've got going on.

I know The driver of this car, his name is Jeroen Swaanen and my dad was his codriver in a ford fiesta wrc.
Cool to see his livery in dirt rally

It's really a shame that DR and DR2.0 doesn't t give us the option to show steering and pedal inputs while driving or in replays
im lucky to have found your channel around the same time i started playing dirt rally. very helpful. i suck at hairpins lol
Don't worry, everybody does to start with. :)
Gotta say that I love your voice and how chill you are :D
Thank you :)

Great video. There are not enough rally driving tutorials.
Amazing. You are doing the lord's work my friend. Bravo!
Thank you. glad you find it helpful :)
Thanks for this great tutorial! Now I know how I should do in theory, let's practice this...
Hm I have only played the game for an hour in a mini and I was having a hard time dealing with sharp turns on hairpins this video was quite helpful thank you very much
turn all the assists of and go slow! :)
Thanks for the tips, my hairpins are crap... matches the rest of my driving though..
Great videos man! I was wondering what to do with the clutch (got it on a button) and clutch override settings?

Thanks for tutorial :) Good pendulum 😀
Car setup is important isnt it ? My question is whats yours ?

Okay, but what about the tiny ass hairpins that are made out of barriers and are the size of scissor handles?
All the same logic. Simply a tighter racing line to adhere to.
Thanks
malik martin no problem, and don't forget, don't drive into large immovable objects, so as to avoid crashing.
But when I steer it like you did. My car slows down up to 10km/h or 20
Are the traction control settings maxed?
Great tutorial. Didn't know a lot of that stuff.
(Kinetic on steam fyi)
got me on steam message me questions n shit man s'all good :)
cheers man. just got rank 75 on Greece 2010s. Happy with that. any clue if the top times are legit? don't understand how they could be so far ahead
try tightening your gears more to get you up some more positions. and yea... the top times are and aren't legit... very hard to know at this point. :(
I fell asleep after 5 seconds
Can you write in description what map is that?
Don't remember the name. soz
how do i changed gear 5 to 1 with controller?
You don't
lmfao if that was real life you would've blown a hole in your engine
Lmao
u r so helpfull
u r so kind
M8 what I can't drive in a straight line without spinning out
don't forget to point the wheel in a straight line to drive in a straightforwardly fashion
Gab on Dirt :D I changed my ps3 controller to a steering wheel and things went a lot better
Yea, it's much easier to do corrective steering with a wheel. Enjoy :)
