Bullet train was great.
The exact kind of escapism silliness we have been missing in movies.
That movie is a unapollogic fun mess which knew exactly what it did, end whent full speed with it. The five star casting helps. I am not doing too well right know, so it was a breath a fresh air.
Be well🤞🙏
@@laurenmasters thanks you
The best part: Despite being a fun mess, the plot is surprisingly great. The book it's based on is probably really good, and the cinematography and acting enhanced it greatly
Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the wise?
It's not a story the Jedi would tell you.
@@420StepsFromHell It's a Sith legend.
@@SenatorMorbstrong Darth Plagueis was a Dark Lord of the Sith, so powerful and wise he could use the midichlorians to create... life...
@@Spellington Somehow Palpatine returned
Is it possible to learn such power?
Not only was it fun, but the plot tied together everything so well. Everything that was shown, as ridiculous as it seemed out of context, mattered in the end and payed off satisfyingly. So many good stories woven together to a full plot. You don't see that in movies anymore.
I had one problem: during the montage of the killers each doing something that led to Mrs white death's death I thought it was going to be revealed that Carver planned it all to kill White Death thought he was going to get out of the car at the end too and congratulate ladybug on doing his kill for him... Nope! They were all truly random and just so happened to culminate in Mrs. Whites death (except Carver) also why do you care about the contract killers? It's the people who hired them that are to blame them were just doing a job despite what this long wall of text might suggest I did really enjoy the movie
Edit: it's Carver not Cleaver
@@boneybaron2508 The “randomness” of the different operators and killers that came in play and ultimately led to the White Death’s wife’s death, is presented under the fact that it’s Fate. Like how the White Death brings all those killers to “control his Fate”. The grandpa heavily emphasises on it, and during the movie, everything seems random, but ends up adding to the plot.
@@boneybaron2508 *Carver, not Cleaver
@@LeSpicey every time someone died it was because a named character killed them whether it was business or personal the people who lived would have been the ones spared by fate so I found it strange that Carver a named character with an explicit motive of murdering White Death wasn't the mastermind it broke the established pattern instead in this ONE instance it was just fate wanted White Death dead unlike every other target in the movie who had a named person wanting them dead
@@boneybaron2508 Carver didn’t have a motive. All we know is that he’s the one behind the attack that ended up killing his wife, and that he ditched the job on the bullet train at the last minute. For all we know, it was just business, for him. Unless I missed a moment where it’s explained why Carver would want the White Death dead, it just puts him at the same level as all the other characters, except that he just happened not to go on the train, for some reason.
my fiance wanted to go watch a movie for our anniversary, but we didn't see anything we would normally be interested in. She picked Bullet Train because the trailer looked good and we had a great time. Probably my favorite joke was after Lady Bug and Hornet had their fight, and Lady Bug stops himself while lecturing Hornet "Oh god, I'm man-splaining again" then he just starts sounding more and more sarcastic the more he talks.
Mansplaining: When a man with decades of experiences tells a woman under 30 how the world really works, not how it works in her head.
As an anti-woke myself, I really appreciated how the movie poked fun at the woke "mansplaining" in that scene. The juxtaposition of that scene was hilarious.
The Ladybug says at one point he only does snatch and grabs. My favorite part is how a character is introduced given a good backstory and then abruptly killed.
Tbf that scene was used for later to introduce another villain, although they also got killed off pretty fast
God I loved that bit - you could've almost made another mini-movie out of that, and then literally 2 minutes later- oh he's dead... Now what?
It was a funny subversion, since a lot of the time, that kind of backstory would hint at the character's importance, but no, here he's dead right out the gate, and even the important bit of his backstory had almost nothing to do with him. Made me laugh when I saw it.
"let me help you!"
*screws off the whole top instead of opening the drinky thing* 😁😂
she asked him to use his superior strenght, not his intelligence
I think the term you were looking for in the beginning is “feminine wiles”
Once you know about the wilhelm scream, there is no turning back. You will hear it everywhere.
Ah-Arghhh!!
This is true.
I love love love they've been using this scream for sooooo long- you're always watching a movie, just waiting for it. I especially love that it was in Star Wars!
Oz saying about the difference between an Operator and an Assassin gave me flashbacks to "No, ugh, dad, I'm not a crazed gunman, I'm an assassin. ... Well, the difference being one's a job and the other's mental illness!!"
If a movie has "diverse character" in it and that character loses to the white man, you can bet that's why the media hates the movie.
“I find this review textureless and flavorless much like my favorite food - soy.”
-Every film critic today
You all need to add Claudia to the title sequence considering how often she's in the videos now.
I will have to give this film a go after hearing your views. The Brad Pitt made me think o would miss it but ok I'll watch it 😂
I think they're working on it
The Prince is a guy in the novel and much much worse. He is just a sociopath.
loving the Oz, Claudia duo
Same haven't seen any lately idk if we will get to see anymore cause idk if these videos might not have done as well
My favorite character is the Fiji water bottle
Lemon and Tangerine were hilarious favourite characters in the movie
I'm a bit mad that tangerine died but the rest of the film is a banger
@@dean_l33 good movie but i agree Tangerine was brilliant
Tangerine getting killed actually pissed-me-off ....😖
But the rest of the movie was entertaining..👍😁
I'm japanese, and I loved the movie. Only odd thing was how some of the Japanese people acted though (maybe a bit western like), and it didn't feel natural, but it's a holiwood movie so no complaints.
Interesting you say that. As an East-European guy (Hungary) I caught many distinctly japanese, more specifically anime tropes there. Then again, I'm a casual animefan and not that deeply versed in your culture. I come out thinking this is how a Hollywood live action anime should be done, not the trainwrecks like Netflix's Death Note or Cowboy Bebop.
In a sense the movie's tone is the perfect fit for us western weeks IMHO.
@@janosd4nuke it was just small things :) like when the conductor didn't bowl after checking the ticket, that is very weird in Japan.
@@12kenbutsuri Yeah, I didn't catch that.
But there is that distinct empty feel of Hollywood killing the soul and quirks of a Japanese IP when 'adapting' it and I was very happy to not see any of that here.
Probably it helped that it wasn't a big name anime/manga and thus not some studio execs deciding to milk the IP with a complete mess, but instead a less world-renowned novel and genuine creators wanting to give their own spin to it and bringing it to global audiences.
Also the source material not being a visual medium helped to create the perfect storm to dodge the bullet of awkwardly referencing exact scenes that worked way better in animation/drawing and give the film that extra umpf of confidence and authenticity.
the director, David Leitch, directed Deadpool 2; and was half the team that directed the first John Wick movie, though he was uncredited on JW. he was also a stunt double for Brad Pitt, among others.
The film industry had gotten so bad and agenda-driven that anything that doesn't shove "THE MESSAGE" down our throats is considered a good movie 🙄
More of a scifi/fantasy fan than a strict action film fan, but like topgun Maverick, I hope this is a sign that things are changing, at least somewhat, especially with the cancellation of bat girl.
I really want this toxic, woke era to end, and the healing to begin.
How come Claudia hasnt gotten her intro card yet? I feel at this point she is a regular of the Knights watch
JOOOOOOO, i asked if you guys would review it. Thank you guys for reviewing it and seeing that this movie is diverse but not focused on it!
Thanks for doing these. We need good sources to save us time these days. I know positive stuff doesn't get as much clicks but the people who watch this stuff really, REALLY, appreciate it.
Tarantino is a Sergio Leone wannabe.
Brian de palma is a Hitchcock wannabe.
John Carpenter is a John Ford wannabe.
And the point is?
I loved Bullet Train. Snatch and Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels are two of my favorite movies ever, and this really did have the same feel. Man I miss good Guy Richie movies... There was a type of decent budget, large cast, fun, irreverent action movies for a while (Brad Pitt was in a lot of them), and lately there's been a lot less. The Assassin's Bodyguard would be another recent one that was good, but I think Bullet Train was even more fun than that.
(Edit: it's actually called the Hitman's Bodyguard)
do you mean The Hitman's Bodyguard? with Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L. Jackson? if so, then yeah, that's an awesome movie!
@@LBrobie lol yes. That's what I meant
Another good one if you like those is Man From Toronto.
I agree it was a great fun movie. One major gripe I had with it is that I thought it was lame that the katana fight sections were in slow motion... other than that couldn't really complain.
Great job with your review. Its great
I loved Bullet Train. There should be more movies like this from the big people.
Also, I just discovered this channel from the 'WE'RE GOING TO REPLACE STAR WARS' video, and I gotta say, I love the music at the end outro. It's so catchy and it reminds me of fantasy and superhero cartoon intros.
Man, too early to read comments.
Same have to come back later
I've seen it three times and noticed something new each time.
Wow, a good, genuine white man that does good things. This is absolute anti-woke
I honestly liked Bullet Train more than I thought I was going to. This film was pretty bad ass and I didn’t expect some of the cameos that popped up in the film. Lol
Cool vid!
lol Oz, it's "Welcome back to the watch", someone's getting reprimanded! Again. :D
Hmm. I guess there is a diamond in the rough.
Bought a ticket just now. Be off to see it in an hour.
Wow that was many cuts in that show. Can we have the unedited version as well?? please!
I'll give it a try!
One of the best things about this channel is that yall cover a wide variety of stuff. Now mostly it’s genre and fu. Stuff, but that’s cool because it is all I care about anyways. So many channels have just become, “I’m gonn complain about the newest SW, ST, and MCU then whine about how we need new stuff while completely ignoring any new stuff. Also I may not review SW, ST, and MCU stuff I don’t want to except I’ll still whine about it like I actually saw it.”
i loved WWZ,
it was a decent zombie horde movie. just not the pepsi ending and the whole vaccine thing!
i under stand WWZ book is unfilmable becasue it took place across decades in various countries, and was a collection of disjointed documents from the dozens of survivors, of how the society collapsed, how they mobilized civilians, and adapted the entire military/militia to counter the zombies
Ok I may have to watch
I heard the same basic thing from my dad's friend. It's nice to hear that there are still a few fun movies out there.
I like the Wilhelm scream, as long as it happens only once or twice in the whole movie. But I understand why people don't like it.
I didn't even clock it when I watched it haha. I personally don't like it because now that I know about it I get drawn out of the movie. It's really not the end of the world though
Day 12 of commenting random crap to help the channel:
Just realised that metal is called metal because its a heavier version of rock. Idk how I didn't make that connection before, also yeah I told you I would comment random crap.
My cousin and I saw it last weekend. We're both absurdly tired of all the woke crap, and we both really enjoyed the movie. It's not a masterpiece, but definitely worth at least one watch. It's like a Tarantino movie, in terms of violence, bad language, and the dialog, with a bit more comedy, and a pretty good message towards the end.
I watched it today, it was good dumb fun. Great popcorn 🍿 flic
Bullettrain was so much fun
I really wanna see this movie
If you keep bringing her in front of the camera Claudia will soon deserve her own part in the intro.
I believe last week they said they were editing that in soon.
@@ravenheartwraith Nice, I must have missed that.
Made sense to give her a bit of time. Adding her to the intro immediately would not only look weird when they switch it back should she leave, but also add additional pressure to "do well" straightaway.
However she has done well and has added a different perspective, without being too much of a contrast or holding the other guys back. Good work, Claudia. :)
i was just thinking that
1:40 those pokes are pretty funny
was this the last ep with Oz?
where is oz ???
Thank you for the recommendation. The movie was amazing haha.
Talking about Ladybug not being lucky: "Don't worry, I've got the antidote injected earlier this day" ...
Yeah, always gets unlucky by getting dragged into all kinds of clusterf*ck situations, but very lucky the way he gets out of it and has the chance to help others out of it.
Perfectly balanced. Living on the razor's edge.
You two are funny!
Why doesn't she have a cartoon'ish intro picture?
Now she is not on the team and Feminists love to hate that!!!! 😎👍
Keep up the good work!
Last I heard Claudia was going to draw her intro picture, as well as update the others. It sounds like she is a very good artist, so that will be something to look forward to.
I stopped watching the channel once Oz was gone. He was the only one that actually had discussions with Chad, everyone else is just there to repeat his opinion back to him.
So the villain is killed by Truck-kun. I supposed she then ends up in an isekai.
as is tradition
Dune , Top Gun and Bullet Train are my big 3 favourite movies so far for this year and i think it’s kinda LUCKY that all this woke movie nonsense happened because now I can appreciate everything about a movie more than I ever now!
Those 3 movies are absolute blessings for me cause I am reassured that there are still good movies to come even in this day and age
Hope you both are doing well. Didn’t know y’all quit.
why they quit?
"I'm ballpointing."
I loved that movie so much. It was a real ride. It felt so good to watch a movie that was just being fun.
0:30 - I mean, it doesn't work in terms of ever tricking a guy, but it does work in terms of a guy trying to be helpful. Probably be better to just ask for help normally, instead of annoying people by being manipulative.
Saw the movie twice, great stuff
Not related to the subject at hand, but you have covered LotR in the past. A company called Embracer Group has acquired rights to The Hobbit and LotR IP. Interested in your thoughts on where this may lead.
I completely agree. This movie was so much fun. I want to see it again because I laughed quite a bit and probably missed some other funny scenes. Great stupid fun.
Seen the movie yesterday and i enjoyed it thoroughly.
SOME SPOILERS AHEAD:
What you didn´t mention was that the music selection was pretty good imo. From the "Staying alive" openining where Ladybug walks towards Tokyo station to the awesome japanese rendition of "I need a hero" 3/4 of the movie in. Had a blast.
Dialog was witty for the most part and had me laugh a couple of times. The set ups and pay- off are satisfying for the most part. Like Tangerine telling Lemon he should wear his bullett prove west with Lemon dismissing it with "I could still be shot in the neck!". Still Lemon´s alife at the end of the movie because he wore the west while Tangerine got shot in the neck. The snake being important to the plot etc.
The ending was a little bit to goofy honestly but it didn´t take me out of the movie, the CGI could´ve been better honestly.
I also enjoyed that the let the people speak in their native language be it japanese or russian.
these critics are just using big words to make them sound smart so their review is more valid
Critic: noun, someone who has a piece of paper but no education and only has a job because their woking dead friend or family member got it for them.
I hope to see your guys thoughts on the Idris Elba movie "Beast" that comes out tomorrow, I don't know about anyone else, but I didn't hear about this movie or see anything until a few days ago and saw the trailer the day before it's release and it looks really interesting, I don't go to the movies a lot like I used to, lucky if I go once a year which I did with Top Gun and this is making me want to go again.
The splash of Deadpool was just the 2 second Ryan Reynolds cameo
So with this and TG Maverick, are we seeing a return to the 70s and 80s action period? Would be fantastic if true.
this one is more anime qnd mid 2000s action but i agree
@@bokev29 Yyup with with White Death rocking a perfect Vicious from Cowboy Bebop look, I silently murmured a "suck it Netflix, this is is how you do it" while watching. And I don't just mean the character design. The outlandish but charming and believable in-universe fight-scenes also reminded me of the original animated Cowboy Bebop style
i can tell Shad would flip out over some weapon things, like the knife bouncing off the case and hitting the owner right in the heart. 10/10 a silly and fun movie to enjoy.
2:25 at lest i one of Slavic caontry
i know a lot of Polisch people play rusians
I'm polish
i think we do grat Russian impresion ;]
Just one point I'd like to make before I watch the video: "Femininity" is no more toxic than "masculinity" in and of itself. The toxicity comes either from feminism or just bad women using their outward feminine charm to appear nice while on the inside they are just the opposite.
Neither masculinity nor femininity are toxic in and of themselves. I think they become toxic when people try to assert them onto others, at the cost of others.
I related it to Kill Bill in feel and flow.
I am recovering from severe ear infections this past few weeks, so i had to cancel going with my friend and mom to watch Bullet Train.
This movie was awesome. Easily my favorite film of the year.
That movie was great, loved the music, the scrpt, the actors please hollywood do more movies like this XD
Don't you love when a diverse movie feels organic instead of forced?
I'm buying this movie. It has good moral story about fate or karma (whatever consider it in life) and it has good driven characters.
The critic's woke pandering is so overflowing they used it as a standard to measure the film's quality. It's overwhelmingly stupid and blatant that they lose sight of what REALLY makes a film good.
Better a "wannabe Tarantino" than a "fake Tolkin" movie.
I liked it.
It reminded me an Tarantino as good as an Guy Ritchie, and in a good way
The description as "the OrientExpress" made by Guy Ritchie matched it perfectly.
Michael Shannon is a pretty good actor, but i completely agree, he was so miscast for this.
I totally thought it was gonna be Keanu Reeves - he even fit the look of the guy so I feel like that may have been who they originally wanted. But I'm sure he was too expensive or they woulda had to significantly scale back his screen time due to scheduling conflicts.
@@thecodebrief I mean, it wasn't like he was in there for long anyaaye
@@mrmacguff1n yeah perhaps, but I think Ryan Reynolds time would have been the amount of time Keanu commits too. But if it was keanu - he still would have to committed to showing up / doing a role hence why he’s probably too expensive for anything longer.
Since it was said that the White Death would stand two metric meters, I'd expected Dolph Lundgren to play him ...
I disagree. I found the subversion of his character and his appearance funny. He’s lead on as a merciless killer and absolute evil crime boss, yet we see his face and it’s just like, oh, a guy who kinda looks like someone’s uncle. Another heh type moment.
Oz: "This is not a Tarantino movie. You're an idiot if you think that"
Me: "I took that personally."
Tbh, I thought the white death was Antonio Banderas, lol
The definition of Toxic Femininity on Urban Dictionary is hilarious, it mislabels traditional femininity as toxic femininity. Rather than the real toxic femininity, that which stems from modern Feminism.
While it was let down by the dialog, the acting and cinematography were great, the settings and characters were great, and the plot...
The plot was clearly written by someone who actually knew what they were doing. I didn't know those people still existed
It's hard to make a holistic plot that actually gives everything a meaningful payoff and set-up. I really want to see if the writer of this has any other books
It was based on a Japanese novel from 2010 so it was protected from modern day pop culture nonsense.
the plot didnt real hold up but that doesnt really matter since the characters are really interessting and fun to watch. the action was cool and the set ups and pay off were clever. i really liked it
This is why movies like this won't die out entirely
No matter how much the woke complain and corrupt there will always be an audience for well written fun, feel good movies
It was what now? I'm sorry, there was some word that started with "F" that doesn't make any sense in the context of a movie.
Comment to give the finger to the YT algorithm: Day 20
(You thought I was gonna miss a day, didn't ya?)
Brad Pitt? Alright I'll watch it...
There were a lot of female bosses, pirate leaders, etc. If I remember correctly, they were wife to other gangsters and then took the reins, which may be why the men were more willing to accept them.
My biggest complaint is that they did not name the film Shinkansen. Perfect chance to introduce that word into English.
I really enjoyed Bullet Train! 8 out of 10 for me.
HEY! World War Z was the BEST ZOMBIE MOVIE BUD! And YEAH, HOLLYWOOD, WHAT HE SAID!!
The reason why they didn't get a Russian actor could be because of what is happening in Ukrain, although I imagine they started filming before that happened. But the whole airport thing had already happened and the tension was there.
I really liked Bullet Train it was fun and heartwarming at times. There wasn’t any work unless you count Brad Pitt saying mansplaining which is explainable because he’s been going to therapy, and I buy a shrink would use that term
yeyeyeye
A quentin tarantino movie spliced with Deadpool? In what world that is a bad thing?
