A highly motivated Marine Corp 1st Combat Engineer Battalion has put up a neon sign over their buildings and it looks amazing. I'm sure that some people are gonna get all in their feelings about weather or not "they personally like it," but i thinks its a solid move. This way all their drunk troops can find their way home more easily.

It's I don't know about his views on women. Is he someone who wants to take away women's sovereign right to decide what goes on with their own bodies? Does he view women as somebody who does not understand the ramifications and consequences of choice? Does he think women who have been raped should have to have the rapist's baby? Does he think that a woman should go to jail for not wanting to carry a dead fetus 9mo? Does he believe that Joe Biden won fair and square? Does he want to negate my voice? Does he believe diplomacy should be the first option before the big stick gets deployed? Does he believe in climate change or climate extremes? How does he feel about our infrastructure? Do we need to overhaul our bridges, tunnels, etc..? Does he believe in MAGA rhetoric? Does he think the GOP made a mistake by not taking up to the floor for a vote the Border Bill? Please read the proposed bill to see how comprehensive it was; and is. To that point does he believe that unregulated militias should go shooting folks who are trying to find citizenship here? Does he believe in hiring more people (actually) needed to be effective at the jobs they're asked to do, but aren't getting done because of the backlog? What I don't ever seem to hear any more from "conservative" people is what they plan to do and how they plan to do it. I'm still conservative, but I have a plan. I can tell you what I want to do, how I want to do it, and what I need to complete it. I just don't think that's too much to ask from people who want to be in government and make laws that I need to abide by. What are his thoughts on religion and government? Has he read the Constitution or just read parts of it to make his argument? What does he know about the history of this country? Was there an Era or a subject of historical note that was of particular focus for him? These are just questions to find out what he's thinking because I'm not looking for a hot head or a macho man who undervalues or devalues any segment of this country. To be the leader of this great country you need to be more than a celebrity or even a Valued Veteran you need to come with policy, diplomacy (because America is made up of many many people), and Yes... you need to come with the backbone, the courage, and the strength to back up the words of Democracy, the Spirit of Democracy that's based in our Constitution, that's a living document that grows as we grow, and, as these last MAGA influenced years have shown us, can be diminished as the people allow themselves to be swayed by rhetoric rather than tangible action and behavior. I'm done with euphemisms. Let's call lies, lies, and, probative findings, facts because that's what facts are; materially, things that can be proven and the results repeated without deviation. Thank you for reading, I know it must have been a... a pain, a slog if you will. I'm serious about the questions, though. Ask him and find out have him let us folks (women) know. That doesn't even come close to our Battalion C.O. I'm not going to name him because let's just say in later years, no surprise. became the Commandant of the Marine Corps. He's hands down the best C.O. I ever served under. The man was a young buck Lt/platoon Commander in Vietnam.
As a LtCol and out Battalion CO he arranged for an extended residency LOL🤣 during our overseas deployment in the sunny sin city of Olongapo City, in the Marines fav place to deploy The Philippines Republic of. He arranged for us to take up residency in the world famous Upper Mau camp a gaggle of quansant huts tucked neatly in the jungle up above NAS Cubi Point.
So those out there that remember the PI days in its glory in the mid to late 80's.
3 1/2 mo's of just bs stuff to do, I did go thru J.E.S.T. while there. But other than that, we went across the Bay a few times to set up camp and blow off a shit ton of ammo on Red Beach, and suck up rice n lumping at night...and being the disgusting young Marines we were, we even traded the village honcho a shit ton of brass for some company from the vills young adult females lol.

We had to post Marines around our firing lines because those little Joe eastwards threatened to over run our position at times to get a shot at getting their hands on 1,000's of .556 and .60cal spent cartridges.
But our Co Gunny already made our deal with the village for various food and the last night a pig roast .
But we being the hard charging young Marines took our share of the brass for some side deals of our own. People are probably out there saying what? Why do the care about a bunch of empty shell casings, well I'm gonna tell you. The Filipinos melt all that brass down, and they make all kids of shit, and come out and sell it to the Marines and Sailors out in Olongapo, or even while we are camped out around the village over on "Red Beach" we often would be out there while Seabees and various SEAL Team elements would also be out there doing their thing, shooting and blowing shit up.
I seriously wondered why I didn't just do an inner-service transfer to the Navy. The SEALS as you can imagine are out there in just their UDT's (dive shorts) and Oaklies.
Our training pipeline is every bit as hard as theirs, but out in the Teams, especially in just training, there's very few people they report to, and sure as hell didn't have a Co Gysgt bitching if we broke down to our UDT's and greens...green t/shirts.
And it gets cooking out there 100's easily, and humidity that makes the Eastern n southern U.S.'s humidity look inviting.
Never forget our first day there. We had hopped a ride on a boat over, a whole group of us were sick 1st couple of days acclimating to the heat. Again, our bad ass C.O. kept the first week pretty light as us who had never been there got used to the intense heat and the humidity. We had been in Okinawa the couple months prior, but doesn't compare to that PI humidity, anyone who's served there knows what I'm talking about.
Other than that we had a blast w plenty of time off, to indulge in all Sin City, Olongapo City has to offer 🇺🇸SF

Marines do not sham, my dear Angry Cops . . . we skate . . . we gaf . . . we skuttlebutt . . . we "bible study" . . . And this is . . . pure genius! Until you realize a whole shop (AVI) off of the USS Belleau Wood wound up on the USS Okinawa one night after a mild party in the town of Pusan. (Oscars and Soju may have been imbibed at our Bible Study) But props for the thinking. Even my . . . I mean that other shop of definitely not me and my friends . . . could probably find that after a night out. Not by curfew, but at least within four hours of it. (We . . . I mean they made it back to the driftwood about an hour after curfew when someone realized that the hangar deck was kind of small and missing some of our birds. Mess duty for all.)

My skipper when I was with 1/1 in 93 built us a battalion lounge with training funds and named it the Longneck Lounge. He was relieved of command in less than 3 months.

There were insufficient sunglasses to go around and the General had taken a pair off the pallets of goodies that were unauthorized to be distributed to the soldiers.
So that he was not taking a pair from a soldier... 😎 he commandeered and self authorized the pair for himself. Like a awesome officer would.
He asked if there was anything i needed.
I said “🤩all i need is a pair of sunglasses.”
He took the sunglasses off and winced in bright bright glaring sunlight and looked at the sunglasses and looked at me and handed them to me.

I took them off and looked at them with a similar wry smile and I explained that General Steiner had issued them to me by hand personally and then went into the regulations regarding hand receipts and a replacement pair...
Which meant in less than sixty seconds i was gloriously rocking those bright neon green Safety sun shields and walking away on my merry! ❤️ ❤😅
