The reason for the Monty tribute in the beginning was because TFS had gotten him to voice adult Gohan but he passed away before he was able to record his voice

TFS is so good with the serious moments when they choose to be. I can't wait to see how they handle Gohan's transformation in episode 60.

Trunk’s voice actor, KaiserNeko, was sick when he did Trunk’s scream.
In the abridged, TFS made perfect, possible sense on how Trunks survived their blasts! While in the original, they both blasted him and Trunks survived... somehow.
I think trunks was tough enough to survive their blasts cause of his training for 3 years ... They probably underestimated him ...or they kept him alive so they had a challenge ...they did like toying with others liked to have fun they were cocky that he alone could never beat them together as a team ...maybe they thought he had died and they couldn't sense life energy so who knows they clealry didn't want to search for him afterwards
18:55 once again TeamFourStar shows us what sets them apart from many other Abridged creators: they can drop the comedy entirely and break your heart even more than the original show did. That’s a rare skill.
Given Goku's appetite, Ox King could have legitimately believed making dinner might bring him back. Food is the only thing he lives for other than fighting.

I mean lets not forget chi chi was traumatized by the piccolo goku fight at the tournament watching her man crushed in front of her eyes after he proposed to her ...she clearly never got over that so in her mind martial arts is dangerous and for hoodlums ..something not even bulma saw her man go through ...sure bulma saw vegeta not care to even try to save her when in danger vs the cyborgs and turn evil which made her question him but she never saw him get beat to hell in front of her very eyes ...that would make any person fear fighting
So did Kami's look out get destroyed? (Of course it didn't, Mr. Popo wouldn't let it be destroyed) Because Gohan could have just taken Trunks to the hyperbolic time chamber, and train few years to take down the androids. DID NO ONE TELL HIM ABOUT IT!?

Seriously. It's like this timeline's King Kai said "screw you" and didn't feel like helping the zfighters communicate. He could've told Trunks and Gohan where New Namek was and bam! Everything is fixed.
Don't know if you caught it, but during that scene before Trunks fought the Cyborgs as a Super Saiyan, you could hear Vegeta's scream of rage from having the Dragonballs stolen from him on Namek, a reference to the scream echoing across the universe :P
Remember the "Galick.....gun.....FIIIREEE!" thing with Bulma and Vegeta?
In the Movie Breakdown for this, there was a Gohan version with the Masenko xD
If you want an intimidating Freeza, you definitely should watch Kai's dub or the original Japanese sub, both do Freeza masterfully.
Mewzard. The only thing good about the sub version of dragon ball is frieza's laugh
I actually think the funimation original frieza granny smoker voice done by linda young is intimidating as fuck and deserves praise for being so different from her natural girly voice ....especially in form 2 and 4 ..maybe cause it isn't digital ...it sounds so raw ...she really tried and clealry shattered her vocal chords . and when Frieza is in form 4 full power she sounds more gruff like a man then most men do somehow .....Kai freiza sucks so does ocean Frieza and the sub is average ...great actor voice meh performance and script ...I usually don't like funimation dubs but for some reason dbz and yu yu hakusho just worked ...I prefer subs for say one piece and full metal alchemist and I believe the funimation dubs for those shows suck ..but for dbz they nailed Frieza
Amusement Park music was the Millennial Fair theme from Chrono Trigger, btw.
Also, Vegeta raging over his stolen dragon ball from abridged Freeza saga catching up with the Trunks/Bulma time machine scene.
A few things:
1. "Got one, Mr. Piccolo" has got to be my favorite serious line in this whole series.
2. This episode, particularly the Dr. Who song that played right before he went super saiyan, is the main reason I watched Dr. Who
3. The Tapion joke is about the movie "Dragon Ball: Wrath of the Dragon." Trunks is given the sword as a gift from the main character in the movie.
I never realized that Trunks already saw Bulma proposition Gohan!
That makes it infinitely better and worse at the same time!!!

There's a distinct lack of Pretty Guardian on that couch.
Yeah, she doesn't like rewatching the movies.
Rewatching this sadly brings up memories of all the old forums i used to read about how the reason Gohan became so attached to Mr.Piccolo was due to Stockholm syndrome and the reason for the Great Saiyaman with the posing and the uniform and the weird voice was due to PTSD/Trauma left by the Ginyu force having Gohan go with the whole Batman 'I'll take my Fears and make it their's' etc.
Dang it, you missed the Vegeta scream.
All (or most) of Abridged!Trunks's background music is from Doctor Who.

This is definitely one of the better episodes in the series.
Sad part is this is the real fate of humanity in their world in all but 1 timeline ...trunks timeline never gets fixed ...I guess this is what the z warriors get for being the cause of putting the peaceful innocent namekians through all that pain vs Frieza ...its cause of the earthlings that frieza learned of the dragon balls...this is what happens when goku dies naturally for good and can't be wished back to fix everything like in the buu arc and gt hu...poor future trunks never got to meet his timeline z warriors or goku
if you watch the very beginning where everyone is outside goku's house you will see yamcha isn't there. cause he's already dead from hanging himself

Future Gohan became the future mr. Piccolo lol. I nearly forgot how hilarious this version was and god dammit Boma stop hitting on people in this version whether it's your future self trying to hit on future Gohan or whether it's your present self trying to hit on your future son lol.

You picked the middle of the end credits for a time/legal-protection cut so we couldn't tell, but you DID notice the end theme was a blend of Doctor Who AND Dragon Ball Z, right?

2:32 btw in this part of the series, if you died of natural causes (aka heart problems), Shenron wouldn’t bring you back. That’s why Goku is dead “for good” here.
Shenron could bring Goku back but he would die again from heart problems. Thats why Guru died again on earth
