Its actually quicker to 60mph than the the 7.8secs you mentioned. Carwow did a review and when tested Matt got 6.7 and 6.8secs to 60mph.....and he reported an average of 51mpg with his lead foot treatment. Brilliant car.
This is just like the 1.5T gasoline Civic 10th gen. I''ll keep that one. Going to higher complexity for the sake of fuel consumption? I guess in real world driving, longer distances(highway) you get maybe half a liter less than the 1.5T engine? No thanks.
@@alexg475 Turbo also means higher complexity and lower reliability. Time will tell which one is better in the end.
@@s4nder86 I don't know which one is better(by which criteria). But I know that the hybrid systems are much recent than turbo ones. Think about it, it's not that hard.
@@alexg475 It's also not hard to look up the latest Consumer Report stats that show hybrids as the most reliable type of vehicle. It also wasn't hard to look up the oil dilution problems of the 1.5T before spending money on it.
And other reviewers have timed it at from 6.1 to 5.9 seconds 0-60mph which is super quick for a family hatch.
I also reviewed the Honda Civic in my channel, and I can confirm it's one of the best cars I've seen. GREAT value for money, true Japanese pride!
That sound in Sport mode is supported by a synthetic sound played through the speakers.

Impressive design, reliable car, Honda rulz forever
The Honda engineers have done something amazing. They remade a totally different machine from the previous generation. This car is the set of the 3 previous versions, in terms of consumption, acceleration and comfort and engine technology. I tried it 2.weeks ago and after a few kilometers of test drive, I immediately fell in love with it. 🔝. Fuel consumption from hyper diesel and the ordered pearl white, Advance version. In Italy in January it will be in the dealership so I will come to pick it up👍😊.

As usual, the Honda engineers have done a good job for this. It's worthy of changing over from an MPV with the space and also having some fun. Apparently the 0 to 60 is actually quicker than that on some tests and it handles well in the bends?
It sure does feek quick behind the wheel the hybrid engine is very quick off the mark!

People are not worried about just going up mountains for the use of the electric motor, this is all about pure fuel efficiency along with good power for a stylish and reliable commuter car.
Wish these were available in USA. They may be coming for 2024 but that’s a long wait.

A good review. But consider slowing down your delivery and emphasising the important points - the seating position, visibility, your height for reference, etc. Still a good review though.

We can’t get a hybrid in the US until 2024 model year. That’s fine as I’m really planning on buying a new vehicle until 2024. Right now I’m leaning toward the Accord, but I like the look of the Civic more and I like a hatchback.
I love the interior, exterior is not the best but not ugly either. How does this compare to Corolla hybrid 2.0 , specs are similar but driving wise, hod does it feel against the Toyota ?
If it’s anything like the Honda Insight then it must fair pretty well against it.

We cancelled Mazda Cx 30 because it’s too small at the rear and bad consumption and ordered Honda Civic Advance Hybrid🎉
There is no gearbox yet it sounds like it is changing gear - that engine sound is a simulation. Its unbelieveable that you're one of the first to review one of these but you gloss over the drive train detail that makes this car unique among current hybrids. Did you not read your briefing notes from Honda?

Prices start from £29,000 and top spec coming in just short of £33,000
Honda did have a civic hybrid years and years ago, and then they got rid of it
It's good, but it won't be cheap. around 35k euros, which will be more than 10k more expensive than the previous generation 1.5t sport.
See if they would have had this a year ago then I would have traded my 2015 Civic Hybrid in for it but I like it just as much as my Camry so maybe 500k miles from now I will bounce back to another Civic

Just use hybrid. And don't use the term self charging hybrid. Self charging is a marketing gimmick. There's already a distinction with plug in hybrids.
The engine noise is fake as it's not even connected to the wheels at below highway speeds and works as a generator only. I wish this was available in sedan form.

The engine sound is artificial. It comes from the speakers. This engine only had two gears, petrol and electric.
Why don't you just tell how small/tall you are, for reference. People like references so they can compare......

Great stuff, BUT, Honda will be making a big mistake going all electric, like other car manufacturers as well. EV's are being rejected by the buying public! They are a menace, cost too much and will be replaced by hydro-power soon! Toyota is already working on a hydo-powered engine. Don't buy electric!

Couldn't stand the constant "Honda Civic" in the first 2 minutes, I had to quit the video.
It's a great car and I'm saying this as a Honda guy, however this sounds more like an advertisement rather than a review. No car is perfect and the fake e-CVT shifting noise is just pathetic.
😆 they don't want to loose the civic-heads, I guess. I'm buying this car despite that not so tasteful fake noise.

The fake shifting sounds 100x better than the previous design with no fake shifting. Those cars just drone and sounded like crap…which everyone complained about. Since these cars don’t have gears, simulated shifts make it sound so much better. This is a great solution to the drone they made before.
@@SIIKAP1 I guess some people would like it. To me it's just pointless and serves no purpose to have speakers that alter the reality. Similar to putting fake exhausts in cars, I would much rather not have them at all. But it's a personal preference so there's no right or wrong.
It's only in Sport mode. 5min DIY and you can turn it off :) It should be possible to turn it off in settings though.

There are many much better hybrid cars in China's market. BYD, Jili,etc, half price, ten times battery, 2 secs faster, much better interior, same consumption.
That's because their workers are paid less than half the wages they are in Europe or Japan, plus Chinese companies have no research and development costs as they just copy proven designs from Europe America and Japan, when are Chinese company's going to come up with their own ideas and designs instead of copying all the time?

No, it's not the 1.8L 2022 corolla hybrid takes nearly 10 seconds to 60 and the one with the same size engine as the Honda takes an identical 7.8 seconds, where is this smaller engine faster corolla? and car wow timed the Honda civic 2022 hybrid at 6.73 seconds, so you do your research.
