    I like to grow plants from seeds because I love to watch the development. It gives me a good feeling to see them growing. And plants that I grew from seeds are much more important to me than others. And it helps me to learn patience (I have ADHD lol)

    I love that you ordered from Walawala Succulent Studio! I've ordered from them before. I've noticed that if you touch baby lithops in any way they die off. I was doing some research, a while back while trying to grow from seed, and the size of lithops you buy in store are usually several years old, like 3-5 years old. Never realized how slow growing they are!

      Do the bag method and dont open the bag for 3 months and u will have better succes.
      Bag method is mix1 part potting soil 2 parts perlite 1 part sand. Microwave the soil for 3 mins to sterilize it. Place in a pot with holes on the bottom wet the soil completely. Add seeds small seeds like dust particles dont need to be covered larger seeds u cover. Add the container to a ziplock bag close to let out as much air as u can. And dont open it for 3 months. This creates a little microclimate so u dont need to water your seedlings.
      After 3 months open bag let it sit open for 24 hours then take the pot out and let it dry out a bit water once a week until they matures.

I just bought a few packs of succulent seeds from Etsy and the seeds you grew in this video were some of the ones still on my list of must haves. 😉 Really cool, especially the bunny ears lol. Thanks again! (Btw, the volume needs a little work and I hope that's helpful and not rude of me to say.) 💗💗💗
    Question:
    Do you think it would have been better to use a more shallow pot or pan to grow these in? Or what about a seed/succulent tray? I'm just wondering why you used pots so deep? I am just beginning to learn about succulents and this is my first time growing from seeds so I'm trying to find out everything I can. I am wondering what your reasons are for growing them this way, because I want to make sure to do everything I can to give these guys a good start so I guess I'm asking for education purposes. 😋 Also, at what age do you introduce ferts to succulents?

    Hello Jess. Im wondering what kind of lights are you using and whats the average temperature in the room you are growing them?

    • @AngelsGrove
      @AngelsGrove  Před 5 lety

      T5 and t8, but I am not keeping the seeds under the lights, just next to them. You don’t want too much light. The room is about 70 degree F

    I would fill the pots more next time so they don’t have to battle the rim for light.

      KenReyUbeSensei C: they have direct light from the tops and I kept them lower so the plastic wrap could remain on for longer. Good suggestion though and important to keep in mind

    Hi there! Can you update us on the seeds from your walawalastudio order? I saw your latest video about scams and noticed they weren't mentioned. I purchased seeds from them a week ago and haven't planted them yet but wondering if I should waste my time even sowing

    • @AngelsGrove
      @AngelsGrove  Před 3 lety +1

      The walawala seeds did grow succulents and they worked well. Go ahead and sow! I had great luck. I don’t remember though if my current seedlings were from there or not, but that one from Etsy was not a scam

    You should EXPLAIN your steps and why. How many seeds in a pot? Are you burying the seeds?

    • @AngelsGrove
      @AngelsGrove  Před 3 lety

      Don’t bury the seeds, they need light to germinate. I just posted a new video on starting succulents from seed! It explains so much more since this video is so old I figured I could make it more helpful. I’ll be posting a q and a too so comment any questions you still have on the new video so I can address them in that video. czcams.com/video/X9qqVTB5m80/video.html

    Is it okay if i don't wrap them with plastic?

    • @AngelsGrove
      @AngelsGrove  Před 3 lety

      The seedlings need a constant humid environment and plastic wrap will accomplish that. You can use a plastic or glass container with a lid instead but it should be a closed system that light can still go through

      Joanne D' Mello I don’t know on that variety specifically, but I keep my succulent seeds watered with a lid on while germinating

      @@AngelsGrove also how much time do the seeds take to germinate?

    • @AngelsGrove
      @AngelsGrove  Před 4 lety

      Joanne D' Mello no actually, I used plastic wrap or a lid that was sealed until they came up then I poked a few tiny tiny holes in for a little air. To actually germinate it took anywhere from 1 week to 1-2 months.
