Great video. I think the dummy orbiter was the one that used to be on public display at the Kennedy Space Centre visitor centre. They have one of the retired real ones now so the mock up was surplus to requirements.

Pity you weren't able to land. I was actually surprised they allow flyovers of the runway.
I presume they must have restricted any flights over nearby Patrick Air Force Base?

There was a restricted area nearby...I think south of the aerodrome.

That would be it - and the Atlantic Missile Test Range. Most of the launch pads at the Cape are actually in the military area, which is much larger than NASA's Kennedy Space Centre. NASA actually only has two launch pads of its own, Pads 39A and B. Both were built for the mighty Saturn 5 and then converted for the Space Shuttle. 39A is now leased to Elon Musk's SpaceX operation and 39B is being converted for NASA's new Saturn 5 class rocket, the SLS.
