This video would have been much stronger with real numbers on the returns. Obviously people are going to return a product like this. Whether it be buyers remorse, not liking the product, or just enjoying a free piece or new tech for a few weeks, units will be sent back. What percentage is going back would be interesting to know. I doubt Apple will ever release that info, but I bet it’s up there.

To be fair, something that is a “toy” to you could be used as a productivity device for someone else.
My quest 2 is pretty heavy and I’m ready to get the quest 3 just for the comfort alone. Vision Pro is cool and I want one but maybe when it’s affordable. For the average American it’s crazy expensive and costs more than the down payment for my car lol
Just returned mine. Honestly it’s an amazing piece of hardware but the ecosystem is lacking. I truly wanted to love it but I just couldn’t find a purpose for it outside of watching 3d movies and CZcams. Sure my Quest 3 hardware isn’t 4k or revolutionary hand tracking.
But the Quest 3 has already matured. I still foresee myself buying the Vison Pro again for gen 2 or gen 3. Or even the gen 1 again when the ecosystem is there.

@@abackseatboy I wouldn’t say a gimmick but by the end of the two weeks I found myself wanting to go back to using my monitors or watching my OLED TV.
Because even though people claim to be using it as their personal work station at some point they will put it down because like David said you have to WANT to be in the headset.
Also even though the virtual screens look amazing. A monitor or oled tv still has way less eye strain. Don’t get me wrong I am pro VR/AR just this is very 1st gen and you are buying a $3500+ Dev kit. I greatly enjoyed my time with it.

I mean I don’t see why Apple couldn’t go the glasses route instead. The only thing I can think of is well since we have Apple Vision Pro, maybe there will be a glasses form factor called Apple Vision 🤷♂️

Yes, ive imported the product to belgium and as first it was amazing.
BUT, 3500$ or for me (4200€) its Nothing special. A battery of 2 hours tops and a very restricted headband. I do also have the quest 3 and the psvr2 and both are more user friendly
I did not return but did sell again, its a shame.maybe the Vision Pro 2 / Vision Pro pro Max🙃
I would use it to watch movies and tv show on it but not with comfort issue
You probably could've kept the Vision Pro because your video revenue from those VP videos would fund the purchase and then some. I don't know a thing about your earnings but who knows, maybe you would've got a ton of views on those because of the hype.

yep I bought it and returned it after just 5 days, I wanted to try it. Apple needs to make them available for Renting, nobody needs to own an expensive toy. there are already 3rd party places letting you rent them but it is like $200 for a week rental, so I figured get it, return it, and pay nothing.
I took mine back today I didn’t know there was a two week window! I had mines for roughly 4 days
My guess is that most content creators “buy” and return tech products. I’ll admit, I do it myself at times unless I really enjoy the purchase.
4k is a joke IMO. 1,500 would have been more appealing.

I went into the Apple Store today to return mine and as soon as I got in there there was another person also trying to return his too. I overheard one of the Apple employees say that 25 people returned their AVP’s just to that store today. I suck at math but that would mean that the Apple Store location I went to lost at least $87,500 from AVP returns. Insane.
I bet that Apple already knew that they would get returns, because it's a niche product just like every other VR headset

I am a huge nerd also in many aspects including computers... And I like Apple products (I do music, etc...)... I love new technologies and so on. But since this announcement, I just don't see a usefulness here. However, I would be interested in the rumored Apple Glasses (and if they are real, they are a long way off). So, I guess my point is that I am glad that the goggles came out first so they can work out all the bugs etc,,... But I just don't see any benefit or realisic use for it... Maybe niche uses like surgeries or something, but...
It looks like a great product but it’s just too expensive. It need to be $2k or less.
You’re right also most of these returns are basically scalpers and resellers after they couldn’t flip this crap for 10 grand they’re starting to fill the pressure they’re panicking and returning the overpriced novelty

Which can be treated as fair . but to say something so outrageously about another products first version is not a fair judgement. The yare also two different sides of VR that the apple vison pro is really in it's own category right now.

I sure don't feel sorry for those returning their headsets in the first place, for starters, did they do research on what applications would be available upon launch? - Hardware is useless without good software. Did they ever tried or used a VR headset before, I wonder if they ever heard the so called term 'VR-legs', and expected not to get dizzy, sick, etc, without ever using one. Did they compare or used against other VR headsets in the market. It looks like expectations were set high without doing the actual research, another example of consuming for the sake of fanboyism. And last but not least, a VR headset tied to one ecosystem is already bad news for the consumer, cannot imagine where Oculus would be, if it wasn't already affordable, support for its own market, but also support to other VR platforms including Steam, and also the Opensource market, it's a no brainer to try that first at a smaller price tag before making that 4K investment. Lesson learned for them I hope.
i predict it would flop 🤷🏼♂️ i’m a strong supporter of apple but i had this vision 2 years ago. i knew it would be a long shot. but with this generation with everyone catching on to trends the viral sensation would give it a longer reach. now granted it is a lot. almost 4k! and we are talking mind blowing tech! new for our kids generation. but unfortunately i at least feel we are gonna need at least 5 more years

I used my Quest (1) a lot in the First 3-5 days- no i am only playing with it, if a good Game releases like Alyx or Arizona Sunshine 1-2.
You cant even get it in germany. And a few thousand is very demanding on the purse.

A $4k VR headset that can't play VR games or connect to a PC hahaha yeah the thing is junk and that's why everyone is returning it. The hand tracking to play games runs at 30 MHz like is that a joke . Yeah I'll stick to my quest 3 which looks even better since the avp. They got greedy with the price if they wouldve kept it at 2k then everyone wouldn't b so hard on it.
