The employee at Brooke’s Hoagie House needs a raise and employee of the month plaque with recognition! 😂
I agree! 😂
yes!!!
I’m hailing from Canada and we eat much of what you cook, even the creative ‘what am I gonna make?’ meal. In the end, we are all one, the same people, in one world just trying to survive. ❤️
I love the idea of letting them "order" their subs from Brooke's hoagie house. Such a fun supper idea. Thanks for the ideas. Everywhere is so expensive these days , even fast food!
They did look delicious. What a cute idea.
They love doing that. They think it’s the best time.
@@SouthernFrugalMomma Thanks for sharing these❤ you are correct everything is so expensive anymore.
@@SouthernFrugalMomma I love Brookes Hoagie house it's awesome! ❤️
So true fast food 😮too high and not best quality anymore 😢
I live alone and only cook for me. I am loving all your meals. I watch your videos while I am eating dinner. I don't feel so lonely.
I know what you mean.. I'm a widow and I miss cooking for my husband... I rarely eat without something to listen to.. I don't feel guilty if I splurge a little every now and then either
The subway bar was too cute. Dusty is a sweetheart to be so involved because he knows how hard you work to feed your family affordable. God bless.
He’s the best!
Him trying to get words out while scarfing down those nachos has me rolling 😂😂😂
My 28 yr old son walked by right when the Asian wrap was showing and stopped walked backward and said "whoa, we have the ingredients for that" I'm making those for work tonight!
Brooke, you don't have a lazy bone in your body or a lazy idea in that practical brain of yours. "Lazy" describes the people that eat out every meal and never cook for themselves or their family. These recipes look delicious, Brooke ❤ You're awesome!
Thank youuuuu ❤❤❤❤
Being a California Mexican, I love how no matter where in the US, people L❤️VE Mexican food. It’s my favorite 😉 too. Love that you made it at home, eating out can be expensive 😮.
For many years I have said I think I was meant to be Mexican. I can eat Mexican food everyday.
I agree me, too.
I thought I was the only one that felt like this!
Not to disparage this comment at all. I promise. But as a Californian what passes for Mexican food in other states varies greatly. I HAVE to cook it if I want it correct. 😢 I miss Cali
I can’t stand to cook like I did when I was younger. I am 72 now and those quick meals look yummy. Gonna give them a try. Thx sweetie. God bless.
Girl do u know how much your loved outside of that family of yours
Well you are you know ✨️
It was so cute to see you prep each person their own “subway sandwich” 🥖👍🏼
This is my favorite of the series that you do. Not only is it super-expensive to eat out, it also takes time--and sometimes you just want to eat as quickly and with the least amount of effort as possible. It's great to have things like this in your back pocket.
Brooke you aren't a trip, girl you are a whole vacation to watch!!!
That’s the best compliment I’ve ever gotten!
Oh I love this comment!
We used to do sheet pan nachos. Piled everything on a sheet pan, stuck it in the oven for about 7 minutes and dished it from there, then topped with cheese dip heated in the oven. Probably took 20 minutes total.
The look on your face when you said "It's twelve dollars a plate" is priceless. It's also the look I frequently have on my face when I look at some menus! And honestly, making it at home and not having to put on real pants to go to a restaurant is also priceless.
😂 very true! If I can enjoy it in my night gown, heck yes! Sign me up!
I agree 100%!
Alldee/Aldi...great ideas for staying at home to eat fun food!
Brooke, you are such an inspiration. Your family is happy and they know how hard you work to take care of them. This is the definition of a beautiful life. God bless.
Brooke
I absolutely loved the video. Your recreation of subway was so funny. My husband will not eat there but I like it. He will eat the same exact meal at home because it is cheaper. Great ideas especially for hot weather days.
Brooke please do a video where the boys cook for YOU!!!! ❤
Great meals Brooke👏👏👏!! You know you can make the original Chic-fil-A chicken sandwich very easy slso! Just take chicken breast and soak in dill pickle juice for several hours and air fry it until done , put on a hamburger bun with slices of dill pickle , wrap in Foil or parchment paper for 5 minutes to steam the bun with the hot chicken ! Serve with chips or coke slaw or macaroni or potato salad ! Delicious , I do it all the time ! Love your ideas Brooke you really make great food on a budget ! God bless ❤️🙏🙋🏻
Thank you, do you bread it in anything?
How do you steam it?
@@wandamontgomery6030 it steams from the heat from the hot chicken , so you have your buns with pickles ready for when you take the chicken from the air fryer or if you fry it on the stove in a little oil ! Then wrap the sandwich in aluminum foil or in Parchment paper and let sit for 5 minutes and the heat will steam it! It’s delicious !
@@cnice7903 you can lightly bread it in flour but you don’t have to , I don’t just to save calories but you can !! And if using air fryer remember to spray with oil, but can also be fried in A little oil in a skillet !! Have bun snd pickles ready si when chicken is done out sandwich together and wrap in foil or parchment paper snd let sit 5 minutes and hot chicken will steam your sandwich ! So delicious
@@beckystone7994 thank you very much, I appreciate it!
I cook chicken in the pressure cooker with a can of green enchilada sauce and taco seasoning until it just falls apart. It is so easy and tender. It can be used for nachos, tacos, tostadas, or enchiladas. It freezes well also.
That sounds great!
I am going to modify the asian wrap to popcorn chicken wrap! (caesar). I will use frozen popcorn chick, chopped caesar salad. Thanks for the great idea! Was wondering what to do for dinner tonight!! (I try to do low calorie so use the carb balance tortillas). Thanks!!!!
Your son's smiles and husband's compliments say everything about how good your food is.
Love these ideas. I hate spending money eating out. One meal out is one week of grocery money. We eat out once a month at this place that has $6.99 special menu on Thursday night. Rotisserie chicken is my "go to" in a hurry meat. Love y'all. Oh my goodness! I would eat that pizza sub all the time. YUMMY!
I was doing a pick up order for Walmart and was pretty much ready to checkout. Then I watched a couple of your videos after your Q&A video. I ended up going back into the WM app and changing my entire order based on the meals you made. Thanks!
I love when little bit faints so adorable 😍
I make the same kind of nachos, but I use store bought can chicken or home canned. I have a family of 5. Its way to expensive for us to eat out.
I love your channel. You have taught me so much on saving money at the store. It's like you say might be a tight budget but it don't taste like it.
I have a video suggestion :
FAST FOOD vs MADE AT HOME
purchasing meal deals from McDonald's then making the same exact meal at home comparing quality, cost , taste , look.
I took my aunt out to eat for her birthday just an entree no drinks, just water, no dessert $35 ! ! The next week I treated another friend to lunch she had a soda she had purchased but I bought a wrap for her, cheeseburger and coffee for myself it was $33 ! Believe me I do not do this often
That would be epic!!!❤❤❤
Brooke, You have got to be one of the most clever cooks I've ever seen. You never fail to impress me with each video. I love, love, love your channel!! 💝💝💝.
Great job! You did all four meals for little more than one night out for a family of five! Good job Brook.
These all looked delicious!! I want to make those nachos soon! Last night I made a quick dinner. I boiled up some spaghetti noodles, topped them with butter, garlic, and italian seasonings. Heated up some spaghetti sauce. Baked chicken patties and topped them with sauce and mozz, put them back under the broiler to get all melty. Quick chicken parm served with green beans on the side!
Being a mother of 2 boys, I can promise you they will say everything you ever cook is good. They know the wanna eat and if they nod and say it's good you'll keep cooking. Lol.
Well nobody can get ahead these days with these extraordinary prices so it's smart to listen to Brooke..stay home and enjoy these wonderful recipes.
Loved Brooke's Hoagie House 😊
Not only do I enjoy seeing what delectable morsel you will be concocting, I also look forward to seeing what curtains will be hanging in your window!
Thank you for sharing that Dusty is a Vet. Please Thank him for his service from your 'bestie fam' here in Cali ❤
Those Asian salads are less than $3 at my Sams club. Trader Joe’s has amazing orange chicken too!! Even if you spend a little more at TJ’s, it’s still cheaper than one entree eating out & it feeds the whole fam! Great video 😊
The TJ's orange chicken feeds only 2 adults in my house and that is with rice. Very small amount in package. Shrinkflation.
That little smile when Ryder tastes the chicken nachos. That was just precious. All your boys are so adorable. Brae loves all your food, and Kylen faints with every bite, so we know he does too, but those whole face lit up smiles from Ryder touch my heart as a mama. Those asian chicken wraps look great. I have leftover orange chicken and some cabbage and carrots in my fridge. I will see if I can duplicate this for my lunch today. I don't have any asian sesame dressing but I do have ginger, toasted sesame oil, soy sauce, and sesame seeds so I'm pretty sure I can google a recipe and make my own. Thanks for the great ideas! We just don't go out to eat anymore because that's almost a whole week's grocery budget for a single meal.
When I seen Ryder smile, I knew at that moment, it was a hit lol
I bet that will taste great!
Brooke's Diner was hopping today. Everything looked delicious. Lots of love from Michigan. Be blessed always, Brooke and Co.! xoxo
Boys always love their mother’s cooking! I Love this❤
@Brooke I used to work for a major food company and one division sells to fast casual restaurants and yep…we can do it at home. At most restaurants, they’re not back there cooking everything from scratch, ingredients arrive precooked and the kitchen assembles the orders. They must cook a few things, but overall it involves food service companies. 🙋🏻♀️
Applebee’s does still have the Asian wrap. It’s almost twice as much, and of course a lot smaller. Debi in Vicksburg, MS. 🥰🥰
Eating out is expensive. We aren't even on a limited budget, but it still shocks me. Then I look at families eating out and I can't even fathom how they can afford it.
We plan like a month in advance and add money to the eating out envelope every pay day. That’s usually the only way we do.
Brooke thank you for the way you teach and share about cooking at home please don't stop be you. I have learned so much from you ❤
The nachos makes a good hardy breakfast that could even keep a teenage boy happily full until lunch time.
I love you Brooke!!! I love Brooke's Hoagie House...what an awesome idea and one that the kids will remember...I love creating memories with my family!!! I think I am going to write all of these down and make them while we are on vacation this summer...super fun and super easy dinners!!! Thanks again!!!🙂
Hello from Australia 👋I just love your ideas to feed your family on a budget and your beautiful smile and friendly attitude is so inspiring as well. Your my new favourite channel. Thanks for being you 😍
This was such a fun video. I love the idea of recreating your favorite fast foods for less.
The nachos looked amazing. I've been looking for something to make besides beef nachos and this is it! Thank you Brooke. I also loved the "subway " shop. Do you have a drive thru window? Or better yet, delivery? 😁
Years ago I was making chile Colorado and when my kids came home from school "It smells so good in here just like Taco Bell" 😂 Ultimate compliment lol!
YOU are da bomb of frugal cooking lady! I give ya two thumbs up! I just enjoy watching your videos. 👍👍❤.
I don’t know what it is, but I find your videos so comfy and relaxing.
Brooke, the Subway girl, cracked me up! 😆 Oh, and Dusty's sass was on point.
Another video suggestion let the boys take turns making part of a meal. For example if Kaylan drew " appetizers " mom or dad could help him, Brayden and Ryder could then choose between making dessert or an entree using items only from the pantry, freezer or prepping pantry. And, for the older boys they could have a certain # of times to ask for help say 3 each. It would be alot of fun to see what they create :)
We add a can of refried beans to raw ground turkey to amke our taco meat. Its amazong and really bulks it out.
They all look delicious and I have to say they are not lazy, just very efficient 😊 I am impressed with how you can think of so many different dinners.
One of my efficient go to meals is cooking chicken tenders in the air fryer and chopping em up. I spread a tortilla with spicy mustard, chopped lettuce, cheese and crushed up corn chips. Top with the chicken and wrap up. 😊
I hope you charge Dusty extra, because he got so much pepperoni on his sandwich. About three times the amount you would get at Subway. 😁😁. Debi in Vicksburg, MS. 🥰🥰
LOVE these recipes!! probably going to try ALL of them...looks exactly like what my kids would like to eat lol....I want to share our recipe for quick homemade salsa! I got the recipe from my friend and it tastes exactly like the salsa from our favorite mexican restaurant and it's CHEAP...and you can throw it together really quick! you need: 1 big can of diced tomatoes, 1 can of diced tomatoes with green chilies, 1 med. onion, chopped, 2 jalepenos (or 3 if they're smaller) chopped, juice from 1 lime, cilantro (to your liking or leave it out completely) 1 tbs cumin, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp salt, 1 tsp sugar. my friend mixes her up in her blender but I don't have one so I use my immersion blender in a bowl....I have to make this salsa every week! my kids love it! I've started keeping sliced limes, chopped onions, and chopped jalepenos in my freezer so it's even quicker for me to make it!
You really can be inspiring on the meals you cook for your family whether they are home cooked or quick meals.I enjoy everyone of them!!
Brooke you are amazing. All of your videos are wonderful ❤
Thank you!!!!❤❤❤❤
You are a very very creative person when it comes to food. Just had to throw that out there and I love your channel.
I am at the Dr. Office watching you taste the Orange Chicken wrap and drooled on myself. I don't think I will be coming back here😂
You can use a Hand mixer to shred your chicken
Thank you for the ideas! We drive a little ways to go to church & we like to do picnic lunches when we can. I think your Asian salad mix and orange chicken would be great for a picnic. Very cute sub shop.
You guy's were crackin me up when everybody was tellin you what they wanted on their sandwiches!! lol..All of them looked delish!! Thanks for the chuckles!! 🙃🤣
Great ideas! First one I want to make is the Asian wraps. Those looked fantastic!
Love these! Thank you and may God bless you and your family!
Brooke you are so inspirational! Tips I can add(I am much older than you lol!). If you need to stretch the salad add a bag of pre-chopped coleslaw mix(if you want easy).
Girl... You're killing me! 😅
I wanna eat EVERYTHING you make!
Legit drooling 🤤
I think that's the most I've heard, Dusty talk! This was so entertaining. The Hoagie House was a total blast. And i gotta say I'm crazy about your baby! He reminds me of my little grandson! What a lovely family!!
I love the salad kits! I like to get the dill pickle one for when I make pulled pork BBQ. It makes a great topping or side. Maybe next time I'll lose the bun and try a wrap.
I’ve never tried that salad kit before! I’ll definitely try it!
I have learned so many easy meals from you, I would never have thought of the asian chicken wraps.. I have orange chicken left in the freezer as I didn't really care for it but in a wrap I will eat it, so nothing gets wasted & it was fast. What a great idea, because I thought the orange chicken was to dry as the entree.
I gathered random stuff from fridge.. Turns out " chow chow" and refried beans, diced tomatoes, onion is pretty good in a hotdog bun 😊
I've been doing this for 5 months now my kids love it and I have saved so much ❤️
Live your down to earth approach to real life! Delish ideas! Keep killing it!
I just love your family! Your boys are the cutest and their unique personalities are the best! Dusty is so sweet and it’s clear he loves you so much. Thanks for sharing your love for cooking and good deals with us as well as your family. ❤️
Love this video. My go to is a bag of slaw mix and smoke sausage. Microwave 4 or 5 mins and it's done.
My whole family had a sub night with their own families. We learned from my mother. We would buy the rolls, condiments and the sub pack of meat and lettuce and tomatoes. I usually had onions and pickles at home. Cheap meal on a Saturday movie night at home. 👍
LOL I started walking t my microwave when yours went off Great meals Brook love your video's gives me great cheap easy meals when the grandkids come over.
One of my favorite in home ones to do. 14 year old loves subway and I love making it for her and the rest of the fam! Thank you ❤❤❤
Everything looked delish and coulld we see more videos to save eating out like these thank you.
This was so cute! Your family is adorable and the food looked really good! You actually saved me from ordering a pizza tonight. I didn’t have any of those things you had, but I did have some tuna and some cheddar cheese and some mini slider buns so I made Tiny tuna melts😂
You're not weird! Rotisserie chickens make the BEST broth!! And the skin is amazing baked crisp in the oven.😋
We tried the Asian chicken wrap, I was surprised how delicious it was. I added Serrano peppers which heightened the taste. As well as the heat level which we loved. Thank you for the easy dinner idea. 😊
Your sons are awesome!! I love how they always love everything you make
I loved this!! We make our own Chinese "takeout" all the time!! Also finding inspiration in your budget meals! We live in Canada where the grocery prices are INSANE, but we could easily save money with some of the meals you've made. Definitely earned my sub 🤗❤️
Y'all are so cute! I love how you did a little hogie restaurant right in your kitchen. I'm gonna make those chicken nachos for my husband and youngest.
Love these ideas. Will try all of them. I'm excited about Asian Wraps.
I live alone, plus I have had a stroke which affects my right side .....so anything easy to prepare is a winner in my book!!
Everything looked delicious and I personally love lazy meals instead of going out to eat. When we get Chinese takeout it’s always $50 or more for our family but I make it at home in various ways and whatever veggies I have on hand and my husband always tells me how much he prefers mine over the local Chinese joint.
I’ll definitely be doing nachos tomorrow since I’m making pork carnitas tacos for dinner tonight so that’ll be perfect for any leftovers. I loved the Brooke’s subs part, it made me giggle. Definitely a good way to get the kids excited about dinner.
Have a blessed day Brooke and family!
Avoiding the drive thru for cost savings purposes, don’t snooze on the great value frozen bacon cheeseburgers. There are 4 in the box for 6.97$ plus tax. I take them apart cooking the bun in the toaster and microwave the meat cheese and bacon..shoe string French fries in the air fryer and this was so much better than a drive thru and comes together in the time it takes to cook the fries..10 min, so tasty, and feeds 4 for the cost of a single meal at McD’s!
Hi Brooke. My mom actually got me hooked on your channel. You inspired homemade Arby's at our house. I bought the Arby's sauces, hamburger buns, roast beef and fries at walmart for about 25 bucks. Which here in Texas it's $17 for one meal at Arby's. We get about 6 out of it. Thanks again.
Love your ideas. I eat plant based for health reason, but I love your food videos. I can also convert them to plant based. Thank you. Like chicken faux strips form Aldi's on Asian wrap. pizza with vegan mozzarella and vegan pepperoni, Naco chips with faux chicken diced n small pieces, with homemade vegan cheese sauce , ( made out of carrots and such, and the chicken waffle same, faux chicken with real maple syrup. Peace! .
The sandwich shop reenactment had me smiling 😃 the whole time.
All of them are winners ! So easy and saving money makes it better! Love you all! What a great family!
Chicken on waffles with syrup?!?! 😳.... I guess I need to get out more lol. The Asian wrap and nachos were my favorites. They looked really good. Thanks for the video.
Your dish is a real winner such a clever lady you are. Since I lived in the south for so many years love listening to you brings back memories.
Oh my gosh these meals are super simple yet look amazing!! Thank you!!😊
When I was working I would make nachos in the Instant Pot so it would be almost done when I got home. I would put water, chicken, taco seasoning, and a can of Rotel in and set it to be done before I got home. That way it could natural release without me having to wait on it. I would shred it with a hand mixer (I wouldn't drain any of the liquid) then turn the Instant Pot to sautee and melt in Velveeta Queso. Walmart and kroger has their own brands now. It's cheaper than using the cheese dip and doesn't get as thick as it sits.
You guys are so playful with each other. It’s fun to watch! Love the meal ideas.
