amazing! i had a course about brand identity at my uni and you explained it way better in under 10 minutes! they would only tell us to do this and that and not give us any explanation as to why, which led to confusion, so thank you so much for everything that you do!

Welcome back! Just wanted to say - this was a great video, but I hope you won't let production keep you from coming on. I've been a longtime fan, and honestly my favorite of your videos were when you used to just talk to camera and design in mostly real time. It was great to just see your process and feel like we were hanging out in your studio. The more highly produced and scripted videos are nice, but something is lost in translation. I hope you feel free to just hang out and be yourself in this space as well. Anyway, all the best to you, and excited to see more!

Question - when you create the logo, let’s say you have the name and you want an icon/image with it (similar to your Whoopie example), do you always need to incorporate the icon + text in everything you use? What if the text doesn’t have anything from the icon in it?

How can I express same shape with many variation, in many mnemonic design / many logo design we can see people adjust shape with typeface..
What process do we follow to create or generate combination mark logos..
Example -Let's say 'kinn' a switch company, so someone visually makes the i -looks like switch expression!
'Zihp' a construction company, maybe H can be emphasis looks like House!
So, I wanna know overall process and how manys ideas can be implement to get many variation logos

I love all your videos - currently binge watching them all! (Better than Netflix!) I would love to learn a bit more about how you deal with font licences....do you purchase them on behalf of the client and include them in the files when you hand them over? Or do you give clients a link to where they can purchase them for themselves? Also, do you discuss their budget for a font? Some fonts are pretty expensive....!
Thank you for the kind words, means a lot! 😊 I actually have the perfect video coming out for you on Monday (I documented the process of working with a client and it shows how I deal with font licensing) But the shower answer is I always get them to purchase the licensing, I provide links for them. The point you raised about discussing a budget for a font is something I've never actually considered, (mainly because I use Envato elements for my fonts and they all tend to be super cheap) But it's for sure something worth bring up with the client if the font you're using is pricey!

In brand assests what is difference between brand illustrations and brand pattern . As you make one thing as used is noth style. I'm a fairly new designer & I wonder if I'm doing my market research correctly. What research tools are you all using? What sites do you go to? I feel that I'm falling short in that department. Most of the clients I've come into contact with don't even have a brand story or know their target audience.
