AC With a reduced halfling +2 , char monk +5, dex +5, crane style +4, halfing feat +2, dodge +1, witch lvl 1 +2 iceplant +1 lizzard and all the buffs on your leopard the AC should be some 39-41 with lvl 2 Character. When choosing Duell sword even +2AC with defensive feat.
Note that if you hit the water elemental without reach weapon you take 1d6 points of cold damage which gets doubled on unfair and could be fatal. Cleave also hits anyone without reach. There is a potion of resist cold which can also help but kiting is the easiest way.
They added both a Pot from Cold and also a Pot of Resist Cold to the Maze, so you can have at least 2 characters without reach face the Water Elemental.
without leopard, kiting around the table with glaive & enlarge works just fine for me one needs some practice though in order to find right spots you can safely attack from with BWT mc and switching exp sharing on/off you can also get 34 ac on 3lvl Lan
Yep, I just wanted to show something that didn't rely on kiting. As I said, Grease and True Strike can also make a massive difference but they rely too much on your MC choice.
@@JohnDoe-il4dz ah, sry, i meant BFT (brown fur transmuter). However, It provides only +1 extra ac from reduce person at this stage, so it's not a big difference anyway.
@@fzoulcmbyl2134 I think there are some from the Dyra at the Mongrel Village, but frankly the scroll DC is very low and on Unfair I'm guessing the Elemental will 100% pass the save every time.
This is great. But I didn't have to back up at all to charge and the charge is what kills it. None of my main characters got touched. I used a dog instead of leopard.
Nice video as always. I remember skipping elemental in kingmaker cause i could not hit it at lvl 3. A question: in the pet video you said that Wolf / Dog is the best pet in the game, yet you took Leopard and Horse here? Is Leo Horse just better for prologue and you respec into wolfs later?
Thank you for the suppot! I would say Leopard is the best pet early game, that is, until around level 7 when the Dog & Wolf evolve. I just took Horse with my Oracle in this run because I wanted to try something different, and Horse is the pet that any character can mount from level 1. Ideally if you are playing with respec you certainly want to trade Leopard > Dog around level 7.
You can beat this guy easy with a dex/cha monk tank with like 40 ac at level 2. Then some enlarged dudes with bard performance and freebooter buff. Also there's some good hexes. Pets seem like a bit of a trap because they fall off massively in act 2 at least what I've seen so far.

Btw, do you rest a lot in the maze? I've seen mixed reports on whether there are penalties later for doing it or there are none and it's basically unlimited.
I don't ever rest in the Maze, actually. Mostly because it means wiping my Heroism buffs from scrolls and also the Barskin Potion, both of which are highly useful in the next area as well before you reach Kenabres. Also, whenever you defeat Hosilla, your spells should be refreshed (but you still maintain buffs). I can't really say if there are going to be penalties for resting in the Maze, but I'm guessing Corruption will work in most areas.
I am lvl 2 and have no leopard ... is there any chance I can beat this? I am using your fighter builder that will use the grave singer at some point. At the moment it seems impossible.

The Horse is a pet from my main character for this run which was a Nature Oracle. The Leopard is a pet that you can give to any party member by multiclassing them at that point, in that case it came from my Wenduag with 1 Fighter/1 Hunter. Seelah can later get a Horse for free at Paladin 5.

I ended up just kiting this around that pit area. Slow but it worked.

if you're aiming for the secret ending and rest like 200 times then it might cause an issue but other than that no.
