    What an awesome quality, twice as heavy as an average basket. Cheaper than the Weber basket. My best buy so far.

    Great video! Question - what is that rectangle shape screen attached to the espresso machine?

    I bought this basket and was very impressed with the quality, but wasn’t able to enjoy it with my Decent portafilter funnel as the top of the basket is flat; the funnel would not close around the top and coffee leaked out. Fast forward to the arrival of my new P64 with its own custom portafilter funnel, so I tried the HE basket again. OMG! In combination with the P64 and my La Marzocco, the Pesado HE basket produced absolutely phenomenal shots, with rounder but deeper flavors than my formerly favorite IMS precision basket. This new basket is brilliant, and I’m so glad I spent the money. The IMS basket is now retired

    I like the idea of this basket, and it looks great, but the thing that's increasing the extraction is the fining of the grind size; not necessarily the difference in the basket.
    That being said, I think if you had time to think about a script for the video, or if you make another video about the product, you may mention since you are able to get a higher flow rate, you're able to grind more finely to produce a coffee which has a bit higher extraction without adding too much brew time.

      if you can reduce the resistance created by the basket you can grind finer without clogging the machine

    • @bertdong1023
      @bertdong1023 Před 6 měsíci

      I like the way you put it, I tend to agree, it is not the basket itself, it is due to the design of the basket which allows you to grind finer therefore more extraction

    I've had my HE[%] basket for about a week now. It does produce amazing coffee however I cant for the life of me knock the puck out of the basket. I got to seriously smack it against my knock box just to get the puck to budge (Still not falling out). Ive recently just resorted to grabbing a spoon to dig it out. Am I doing something wrong here?

    I have gotten into the habit of using a paper filter at the bottom of my basket. Is that process really needed with this high extraction basket? Will using a paper filter in addition to this basket yield an even higher extraction that will be noticeable?

    • @panikpas
      @panikpas Před 2 měsíci

      I will tried that. But so far, the Pesado HE (only) give me better result then with a filter at the bottom and IMS competition basket.

  • @stephen6739
    @stephen6739 Před rokem +4

    Create basket that promotes high even flow so that it does not clog and restrict flow like nornal basket. Now start grinding turkish powder so as to get same flow on old basket 😂

  • @CH-yp5by
    @CH-yp5by Před rokem +1

    Does it actually taste better? then again you can just use a 2 1/4 inch hole punch and cut up chemix paper which is a lot cheaper than buying one of these things

    Thanks for this video!
    I recently got this basket and I love the extraction I get from it. I find myself grinding finer and getting noticeably more flavour.
    I have noticed one persistent issue with it that I don't have a solution for: I get fines stuck in some of the holes and am unable to get them out with a brush (because the brush hairs are too big). How do I solve this?

    • @robertandil5950
      @robertandil5950 Před 5 měsíci

      Hi, you can use paper filters for the bottom of the basket before you put your grinds in, laso helps with an extraction and water flow plus it catches a lot of fines that would cause you bitter taste or get stuck in these holes.. otherwise, clean it after every pull and clean it in cafeza once in a while (not for too long, few minutes should be okay)

    Important info about the HE: I got mine couple of weeks ago. Although the extraction is pretty nice and you can feel a very tasty espresso, the basket has a design problem. When I knock the portafilter against knockbox the basket goes out of the portafilter every time! I even tried with two different naked portafilter (one is a Pesado naked) and the result is the same. I contacted Pesado and they suggest me to bend the clip portafilter, can you believe that? Even bending the clip it doesn't work well.

    • @joshk528
      @joshk528 Před rokem +1

      @bdbaeza1 Před rokem +1

      @@joshk528 Totally. That is what I did. But still awkward...I mean I didn't buy this nice high extraction basket to make this "bending work" in my home....

    • @BensCoffeeRants
      @BensCoffeeRants Před 11 měsíci +1

      That's the problem I had with the original La Pavoni Europiccola (51mm / Post Millennium) which was super annying, the portafilter it came with didn't have a retaining spring at all! Luckily I found a bottomless portafilter which had one and it makes the machine much nicer to use. So yeah it would definitely be annoying to have the same issue with a fancy basket on my 58mm machine too!

      I cant even ge thte puck to knock out of mine. This is smacking it against my knock box a dozen times. the basket will always fall out first if i don't smack the basket its self against the bar.

      I think for high quality light roasts it is helpful. I haven't tried this one but experimented with another higher extraction basket and found it does seem to usually give a bit more strength to the flavours coming through without amplifying the negatives, like more bitterness or acidity.

      @@BensCoffeeRants For me the texture is fundamental
      I like clarity, not big fan of body, but espresso without texture, is not qualified from my point of view
