I think people forgot that our livelihood and earth in general works around moon phases and lunar cycles. Breeding seasons, pollination, ocean tides, etc .. just because we live in enclosed boxes called homes doesn't mean there isn't something called nature outdoors.
Ocean goers, fishermen, divers, sailors, marine biologists, all require in some form or the other, readings about the current moon phase.
I won't start a marine biology 101 here, but moon phase readings do matter to a certain group of people and I completely understand why you would think it's a gimmick if you're unaware of such people who require it.

A moonphase watch helps me to avoid werevolves.

Features an incredibly highly reflective coating in case you need to use it as a mirror! - EDIT: I was cringing at your description of how to set the moon phase...... do it by look? Set the date to the day BEFORE new or full (pick one closest to your current date, as they are the easiest to correctly set in the aperture), adjust the moon by click (if it's a true 59 tooth gear for 29 1/2 days) to one click prior to your set point (new or full), each click should be one full day of moon travel, then roll the hands forward through the day and make sure the date and moon jump forward; then roll the hands through to your current date. Depending on the caliber, you can also set the time to your local new/full moon phase and make your click or pusher adjustments accordingly. A true 59 tooth moon phase gear will need one full click adjustment every 33 phases; do the math from your initial adjustment! Or you could just go here: czcams.com/video/XrQCiYyCNNg/video.html

Great review! I think you really nailed a great balance between presenting A LOT of information concisely while keeping it feeling conversational. Hopefully you do more like this.
I’ve been keeping tabs on this watch since it was in development, and while was skeptical of the moon phase back then, I do appreciate how they’ve modernized the complication. The ambitions of microbrands are starting to be matched by their execution, which is great to see.

Excellent review! It helped me decide to purchase the blue variety (complemented with an aftermarket midnight blue NATO strap). I especially liked the “out and about” scenes getting coffee and such. That helped me see it in a natural setting. Thanks again!

Moon phase complications are perfect for us astronomy 🔭 enthusiasts. Comes in handy when it’s time to bust our telescopes

Great review! I recently discovered E/N and I think they do great stuff. I also love the manual Averau small secs. They have announced the Cristallo, a beautiful divers watch that looks like a real Sea Dweller killer... Looking forward to watch the review on that one.

Thanks for this great review, been looking for an affordable moon phase and ended getting the white faced one on a rubber strap.

Just came across this watch. What a great approach for integrating my favorite complication. Also, nice to see Gowanus Brooklyn in a video.

Have this watch and it’s great. I use the moon phase for star photography. I can see at a glance if the moon will produce light pollution or not. Haha still useless in the grand scheme of things. Great review

I live in a country that has a national holiday every full moon: it's actually pretty useful to know when the full moon will be for me 😅

I keep seeing these pop up and I’m super curious about them. I think a 39 wears a little small for me at about a 7.5” wrist so I haven’t jumped on one yet, but I’m close to letting my curiosity get the better of me. Great review! Aesthetically, this is such a neat piece IMO.

Although my taste lean more towards the traditional, this is a very cool little watch, and as noted in the video, I appreciate the original design that they've come up with.

    Indeed, not everyday you’ve got to see a sporty/tool watch with moon-phase ! 😳
I’m really not use to it, so I still don’t know what to think about it. 🤔
Still, it’s a great modern design. They probably just release the 1st moonphase 2.0 😎
... and I don’t see many moonphase at this price range.
