0:40 "bind down pretend to be picking up a rock"
thats what we do in Libya as well ! and thats what we tell other people to do as well haha! we are in North Africa
also with whistling, we say that calls for demons
one day i will be lucky enough to come to Tonga and meet all these beautiful people.
All about being genuine.

Just noticed how the "yo " swipe is so true haha.
Hahahahaha the whistle thing is true in Samoa too, but they say if you whistle at night you’ll get slapped in the face by a aitu (spirit) and your mouth will be crooked forever 😂😂
I was a PC volunteer 1979-1983 for the TEPB, commuting between Nuku'alofa and 'Eua. Your video was my first glimpse of modern Tonga. I had to laugh at the trick of picking up a rock--it's nice some things have not changed.
There were no crosswalks, the King's Highway from the palace to the airport was the only paved road, and no one paid much attention to roadsigns.
In Fiji we have the same, similar and exact culture. We say Tilou or Tulou ( if not , get ready to get the sasa😂). Whistling in the night too( I remember when I did that and my mom yelled at me " you want the dead people to come and take you away?"🤣🤣. Also greeting others even if you don't know them ..just Say Bula! With the smile will give a good day 😁😍.
Vinaka🇫🇯🇹🇴
The dog one is accurate asf😂😂😹
Im Fijian n we have exactly the same culture🇫🇯🇫🇯🇹🇴🇹🇴
Ummm, sorry, but no, we have different cultures which should be oblivious...
@@preciseunion9055 shut up white boy
@@preciseunion9055 ...oblivious?? you really chose the one word that means the opposite of obvious... that’s just sad 🤭
@@preciseunion9055 stick to ur union jack.
🤣🤣🤣gerarahiaa
Going back to tonga the first time in 9years and i still remember all this...cracks me up cause its all true lol
I just found out about Polynesians saying _tulou_ . We do the same in Chuuk, Micronesia but we say it like _tirow_ . If you walk between people sitting/standing, crouch forward and pass while saying _tirow_ . Your mom gonna be mad at you if you don’t. She didn’t raise you like that lol
Fiji is tulou
What two enjoyable men and I must say good looking. So sorry for what's happening in Tonga right now. My prayers are with your people. I greet you from the island to Puerto Rico in the Caribbean.
Thanks for sharing your tips
hope to visit your lovely country soon
I'm waiting for more tips
👍👍👍
😂😂😂 Great tips, will remember them when I finally visit my homeland 💙
Remember Tongas a lot more strict on Sunday’s as it is a holiday day
“Tulou”... its more like a bassword 😭
Im part Tongan too but grew up with my Samoan side and we say tulou too! 💯🕊️🙏🏾
😂😂😂 you guys are crack up!!!♥
from Chuuk islands in Micronesia we say "TIROU"(excuse me) we say it before we speak or saying a speech & before passing thru or infront of people & can also be said after the closing of speaking & speech.
#TIROU
Plot Twist: Tongans run at the horse
An the horse bends down to pick up a rock😂
Man, same here in my small Polynesian island in the Solomons. We do not allow to whistle in the night cos of the devils will come to you
Oh which i see Lasi as your surnane
Tikopia??
Actually your name
Te Atua Lasi
The big/great god??
Solomons are Melanesians lol
@@mrfin02 yeah melanesians but some of the islands are occupying by polynesians
I remember one time when I was a kid, I stayed with my Tongan aunty. She smacked me so hard in the ankle when I walked right past her and my other auties while they were sitting down on the floor because I didnt say Tulou
Love the soundtrack boys too tika
0:39 i thought he was gonna say "bend down pick up the dog and take it to the local village so they can tunu it"
The song is "Seuke"
Tongan for "Wonderful"
Box,Josh,that's scary!!!
The next Tongan song "Ta'ahine"
Means "Girl"
Who sing the ta'ahine song please ? 😍
that whistle one is true
That's why there is chaos all over the world because of people whistling at night waking up the dead.Go to any Pacific island like Samoa,Tonga, and so on and you won't hear us whistling at night cause we know waking up the dead can be chaotic.I'm just saying. LoL🤘🇦🇸🇦🇸🇦🇸☝ No whistling at night🙏🙏🙏☺
We Samoans say tulou too
Yep correct😂
Our languages are very familiar
Use say t with ur tongue am I right
King very familiar 😂
We Fijians say "Tulou or Tilou" too..lol
One could get scolded if they don't say it or mean it if they interfere with elders or people sitting or standing and you need to get past them...
The dog tip 😂😂🙌
ugh finally they did tonga😂❤️🇹🇴
😂😂 Funny. But forreal though, them 🐕 And 👻
We say tulou here in Fiji 🇫🇯🇫🇯✌
love the tips... 😀
ahem..tulou
Knox 😻
Just a thought if we got the word “tulou” from the english word “too low” coz we’re trying to lower ourselves in a way of showing respect to those who are sitting or older person/s standing?
We were taught that as a mnemonic device--the door to traditional Tongan fales require you bend down to enter, and of course, you said, too low.
Too fun boys! lol
Toko I'll try the dab next time in tonga lol
These are good tips for Samoa too.
🤣🤣🤣🤣new style of greeting is dap hah🤣🤣🤣🤣yahh uso it's true that when u whistle at night you can make the ghost come to you, it also our taboo in Asian🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿🥰🥰🥰 love from Bruneian🥰🥰🥰🙏🏿🙏🏿🇼🇸💪🏿🥰🙏🏿

Didn't know the Nazi salute was another way to greet people in Tonga 2:06
Mate ma'a tonga
Si ekupela teteui'ui pe
But da dogs always like me
I think Tonga would be a great place to go serve and help people. People seem wonderful from there. But a big worry is how the bathrooms would work.
How to people use the bathroom in Tonga? It seems like its based on... the household and tribe what you have? And how do you stay healthy with that kind of system? Is toilet paper going to be non-existent?
Easier to ask this to someone I'll never see.
😂fact funny
NOX PEA SIUA KO E TULOU KO HA FOUNGA FAKA' APA ' APA. NA'A KU AKO'I HOKU KI'I KAINGA KE ULEA TULOU KAPAU TE NE
TULOU 'O FAKAFOU ' I HE MATU'A , MO E FA'ETANGATA, MO E TOKOUA PE HA TAHA PE ' OKU OU FAKAMANATU MA'U PE KIATE IA ' A E GO'I LEA TULOU. ( FAKAMALO KIA SIUA MO E NOX.)
