Hi Jamie, it was great to see your smile and pleasure whilst catching those roach, for me that is the mark of a true angler enjoying his fishing and the fish, regardless of size. I wish i had fishing on waters like that, but my stillwaters are mostly deep clay and gravel pits and a lot smaller and lack that wild feeling of the bigger semi natural venues, like that one, and full of cats n carp and the bivvy boys! Incidentaly that style of fishing, returning the fish, is one of the best ways of catching pike as they home in the fish activity and often just sit there, a few yards out, picking off hooked and returned fish! I am still stuck indoors but now McMillan are helping me but still wishing i was sitting by the water catching any fish! Stay safe and look after your Dad and your family through this next wave of Covid! Regards Bill
Oh Bill I'm glad you could tell I was enjoying it! I think it's simply because on those venues you have no idea if you're even going to get a bite so when you do it's a relief! Dad is OK thank you and he's being very sensible. I'm in Sheffield which has now gone to tier 3 lockdown so I won't be travelling out of South Yorkshire for a while now. I know some anglers are but I won't be. Keep in touch mate, Jamie

I really do enjoy your videos Jamie. Great content great help and advice. Thanks mate. 👍
Loved this vlog mate cannot beat natural venue's 👍
Loving these Jamie, watching a few of these from you (especially as I know the Angler and the Venue...) some really good "Yorkshire" tips ie - layman's talk and everyday angler talk, rather than "perfect world " stuff. Keep it going mate!
Fantastic Jamie ! ❤️ Natural Venues 👍🙏🏻🎣
Thanks Lee mate!
Thanks Jamie, another excellent informative vid. Keep up the good work 🙂
Thanks James and thanks for watching mate!
Another cracking vid Jamie as always
Thanks Stephen mate!
Proper fishing on Flask, as a nipper I used to fish many a long summer evening on there with my two older brothers, always missed last bus home and had to hoof it down to Malin bridge .
Hahaha yeah me too mate! The bus was every 2 hours wasn't it?!!
Brilliant video.
Thanks Mark and thanks for watching!
Man...that place looks so good that it wouldn't even bother me if I didn't get any bites... 👍
Hahaha beautiful place isn't it Andrei mate!
Couldn't agree more 🎣❤️
Very enjoyable Jamie thanks. Andy James
Thanks Andy much appreciated mate!
another great video! had pike taking my roach on a session the other week and when I got the roach in they had no marks on them either
Really mate? Makes you wonder how it happens doesn't it!
Another informative video. Great
Thanks Allan!
Bonjour et merci pour cette belle vidéo.
Amitiés.
Daniel
Thanks Daniel mate!
Well done mate great video
Thanks Neal and hope you're well mate!
@@CatchFishingChannel All good mate hopefully see you for feeder pairs soon
@@nealswan Yeah hopefully mate, I just hope we can make it :)
Good video m8
Great video Jamie
Really like that type of video and venue
Thanks Mike I thought this was more your style mate ;)
Jamie
Love the big lakes over here, Bassenthwaite, Esthwaite and Semmer water, just don't get the time to fish them much now between work and Club commitments. Still 15months then free to do what I want 😊😊😊
@@mikepattinson3285 Ooooooo why what's happening in 15 months mate?? Hmmmmm ;)
Life of leasure, retirement I hope.
@@mikepattinson3285 Oh mate fingers crossed for you mate!
i think you had a big perch take the roach and not a pike, had it happen to me a few times on the thames.
A toothless pike.....😂.....I hooked and landed 1 in Ireland back in early September about 12lb 😎....as you know my kind of fishing all day long 🍀
Hahaha did you?? I never thought of that Ian mate! Hahaha
Lovely venue and fishing. Is that the standard EVA Bait Tray that you are using? Perfect size for 4 normal bait tubs; perfect for natural venues 👍
As a Sheffield lad who also grew up fishing t’Flask (including with the Juniors Squad), but has now lived down south for over 15 years, your videos are welcome nostalgia! The place has either got a hell of a lot easier since I last fished it, or you’re the crack angler you seem to be (we may have even fished in the Juniors at one point, but I’m getting so old...). Anyway, another quality video and performance so nice work. I have a theory on the ‘pike’... No way one wouldn’t have left any marks as you say, plus you also mention the chub in there, which used to grow massive, so with no marks (which perch also leave), I reckon that could have been a proper donkey of a chub?! They will be largely predatory with so little bait and or other natural offerings going in there... Would have liked to have seen it if so! Cheers
Oh John great to hear you fished there as a kid too! I love the theory of the chub though and how exciting would it be to latch in to one of those?!! I'm going back up to target the deeper water so I'll keep you posted mate ;)
hi Jamie, another great informative vid , I have just bought the matrix horizon 4000 reel and want to load it with the horizon mono 6lb, can you please tell me will 150 metres of this line be sufficient to fill its spool .am sure I've asked this before and don't know if you have had the time to respond, which I understand.
i think you had a big perch take the roach and not a pike' had it happen to me a few times on the thames.
Fished that exact spot piking last weekend.
Did you catch mate?
@@CatchFishingChannel Yes mate. Nothing big. Used fish finder though which did show lots of fishing at the distance you were fishing. About 15-20ft of water. Also showed lots up in the water still.
Hi Jamie, great videos hence the sub. Can you tell me which video you explain clipping up pls
Hi David, thanks for the sub mate! This is an old video of mine but I go through clipping-up in this one mate czcams.com/video/RJ_Ihtm2Qjc/video.html Hope this helps mate :)
Class
Thanks for watching Keith mate!
Well, having given the situation due consideration, I've concluded that that was no Pike. But rather Nessies little cousin. LOL
On a slightly more serious note. After the "submerged" session with Rob, I noticed you still use longer/ shorter hook lengths, knowing the hook will land close to the feeder. How then do you decide whether to go long or short, and why?
Other than that, another excellent video, heaving with entertainment and helpful tips. Top notch young Sir. TTFN
Hahaha yeah it could have been mate I'll go back with the bull shark gear! As a general rule we start with a longer tail and if it's working then stick with it but if we start missing bites or not seeing the bites we start to shorten it. Thanks again for watching mate! ;)
Great video would you ever come back to fleetwood rez and have another session on there again
Yes mate if I get chance I'd love to fish it again!
Hope we see you back down here soon
You’re coaching 2 of my mates from Taddy on Friday, good luck 😂
Hahaha is that a friendly warning Lee mate?!! Lol
@@CatchFishingChannel cant wait till Friday Jamie, should be good.
Eye eye Joel. You’ll have a great day.
Jaime do you always fish with barbed hooks as most venues are barbles.
Jamie, could you please record a session on the reservoir dam with the joker.
Yes of course mate I'll add it to the list. We will be using it here now that's getting colder mate :)
Thanks. I've never seen you use a joker in your movies. And it's a great lure for the cold months.
With so many winter silvers and feeder matches on commercial venues these days, when is a tackle manufacturer going to release a range of 1m feeder hooklegnths (barbless) as there’s definitely a gap in the market?
Great vid 👍🏻 Is it still the same with the ticket machine ? Know it was not working in one of your ,vids the other week due to Covid
Yes it's working now mate but make sure you have the right change, it's now £5 per day mate.
@@CatchFishingChannel thanks mate
Could gave taken the feeder?
Is the dam still open too fish right now? Or is it closed again with this stuff going on?
Yes Damflask is open again now mate, the ticket machine is on and the bailiff goes round every day as normal mate :)
what are them feeder stops you use
These ones mate www.fishmatrix.co.uk/home/product/rubber-line-stops?c=feeder-accessories
i have a good park pool near where i live, went last week nice and windy had 12 bream all about 4 to 5 lb each, double corn hair rig. feeder to hook about 2 foot. after about 4 hours the bites always dry up. would you recomend a much longer hook lenth
That's brilliant mate! Yeah you could try a longer hooklength but if you can catch for 4 years that's good enough mate!!
How does 9 secs relate to feet?
There are too many variables to calculate it accurately but the most common guess is about 1 metre per second mate.
Missing a trick or 3 by not using a window at times through the session
Yeah they can be great for that sort of fishing can't they mate!
Must have been a pike with no teeth....otherwise another great video buddy.
Hahaha thanks Steve and thanks for watching mate!
