  • My 2011 Nissan leaf radio head unit stop displaying images and had no sound from it too. I solved the problem by first testing a good radio in the car to confirm no problem with the fuse and wiring, after which I found another radio on eBay with a cracked screen but a fully-functional unit.
I end up taking out the touch screen in my non-functional radio to fix the cracked touch of the eBay radio as I install it in the car.

Hi thanks for your video, very helpful. Just wondering, how did you get around the security code issue, as the units are tied to the original car. Did you get Nissan to look at it before installing it like in this video?

I also wonder about the security code. Can the radio simply be changed and no problem with theft detection ?

Thanks for making this video... Really helpful. Once again... How did you open/extend the screen on the disconnected unit, in order to get to the 4 screws that you need to undo to remove the screen?
    Thanks!

You can pull the screen out before you start work on it.

@@t.shonoiki563 thanks! Mine doesn't want to open when I pull it. Does it just need my force? Thanks so much for any help!

@@t.shonoiki563 or do you mean extend it when the power is in? The problem is that my new screen is on a Separate unit that isn't installed, and I'm trying to avoid having to remove my head unit to plug this one in... Any ideas?

@@jamestrivedi-bateman8143 It might require some force pulling out from the lower part, just be careful not do more damage.
