Gregg wrote this song at the Big House on an ironing board cause he couldn't find paper.! Every version of this song he does is fabulous. Ride on Midnight Rider! Can continues to be lit daily in honor and memory.
What a champ he went out a winner. He is sadly missed but his music plays in my home everyday so therefore he lives forever or at least as long as I do haha
WOW !!!! Amazing and still bad ass.....and Gregg's has some bad ass musicians playing on this rendition of Whipping Post.......his brother Duane would be smiling.....and what a bad ass he was.....!!!!!!
I have to say, it’s always great to my spirit to hear the Allman Bro’s...my all time favorite music, I sold my ticket to my only Live Concert while in college as I had to work a crappy job to pay my bills
Saw the GAB last night. Bruce Matson was on piano, replacing Bruce Katz on B3. The band absolutely kicked ass all night! Gregg was in fine form.. Great to see him healthy and singing so well. I've had to wait two months to play until recovered from back surgery. I can only imagine how difficult it must have been for him not to be playing while he was going through the liver transplant. An added plus for me last night was getting to meet Jerry Jemmott, the bass player in the GAB. Great guy!
From the way he looked even then, it's a wonder he lived another 6 yrs. for the new part. A blessing for his loved ones & fortunate for us to be spared losing yet another musical genius & legend!
I don't know who the guitarist is but he just steals the show. He compliments Gregg, actually he over compliments Gregg, but the results are just outstanding.
@@georgehendriks2548 He also used Oteil, I am at a loss for his first name now and too tired to look. but also a damn fine guitarist who adds a touch of eeriness to the songs.
notice how greg can play with various different musicians and it always sounds like it ought to and maybe like duane is there guiding things along somehow
This is just amazing, how much fun they have! I love the groove and the sound of the hammond. Great! Does anyone know, if there is a high-quality version?
@LisaDawnn Stage volume! The partition keeps the drummer's volume only as high as the other musicians or singers on stage want it to be in their monitors, and only as high as the sound engineer wants it to be in the main speakers for the audience. Otherwise, each musician keeps fighting to hear their own instrument over everyone else, and the band become too loud. Also, the partitions are more common in smaller venues where the drums could overpower the room. Good question!
He looks so good here...last time I saw him was '04 w/ Grateful Dead at the Gorge & he looked like death walking. Think it was shortly before his liver transplant.
What's the musical advantage of the drummer being behind a plastic/glass partition? Feedback from the amps? Gregg hasn't friggin' changed at ALL! Amazing.
Beautiful groove, I love the fine sound of the hammond! Does anyone know if there is a high-quality version available anywhere? I like this much better than the album vesion.
Nothing compares to the emphasis of the original recording, although this version has a nice groove with excited musicians that obviously are enjoying every minute.
@@harolddavis9677 I am with you. None of the brothers bad mouthed others...Dickey came the closest, but still kept his distance from the bad mouthing. A mere complaint here and there is normal...anyway, this Julia person cannot even spell Gregg's name correctly, so.....consider the source.
For an interviewer, she's a little out of her element, she belongs on a Gilmore Girls episode or something like that. I think a guest interviewer like Bonnie Raitt would've been a better fit.
" Is there a specific place called 'The Low Country" ? And this chick is some sort of 'journalist '? She must not be well read, as most 6th graders have heard of The Low Country...
Saw this on cable tv a number of years ago, this was after he had liver transplant surgery. Damn, i miss this guy. RIP Gregg.
RE: Midnight Rider ; Don't we all miss Gregg and his brother Skydog...Eat A Peach For Peace
He will never be replaced.
I love that such a soulful voice comes from a rather closed mouth. All these years, it's Gregg's style. I LOVE IT!!
He's amazing...love that. His soulful gruffle voice. Beautiful.
Saw the Allman Bros many times back in the day with Greg on B3 . This is a great version but nothing can ever top the original live at Fillmore East !
russell BVI check out the 1991 Germany on youtube
I’m missing the 11/4 part. This is cool enough, but this is a blues song, not a funk song
Gregg Allman and band's performance is outstanding. Thank you Gregg for giving us Low Country Blues and we'll see you at the Crossroads...2012
I love Gregg's laugh...so sad that he is gone.

Nice jazzy rendition - I never get tired of hearing this song ! Thank you for downloading this.
love to Greg. you are always just who you are. you have stayed pretty true
Band is great!
Gregg knows talent and non one messes with Whipping Post,
Greg always does it right! Great musicians, love the guitar player...it all fits. Thanks Greg for sticking to your taste and feel!!!
What a champ he went out a winner. He is sadly missed but his music plays in my home everyday so therefore he lives forever or at least as long as I do haha
She did an excellent job. Very enjoyable. Never get enough of Gregg Allman.

Michael Hutchinson Ditto!!
That voice. Still strong here after his surgery. RIP Greatest Gregg.
I listened to this song constantly when I was going through a divorce, seemed to fit.
Oh man this is my hero.SO BEAUTIFUL .what a voice...u never forget his sound..God Bless you...Rest in peace..
Gregg's solo band is incredible. Saw them about a year and a half ago. He's got bunch of ringers.
What a classic that every man has felt from time to time
I do not think I ever heard Whipping Post with sax player on it. Excellent!
Got to say I prefer the original time signature of this song.
It helps convey the urgency of "feelin' like I'm dyin'"
Went to their graves last week love the Allman Brothers also stopped at the big house had a great time.
Got to see him and the boys many times, always super tight and professional ! Some of the best shows I have ever seen.
I could listen to Jemmott all day long. One of my all time favorite bass player.
love this version!! thanks for posting! his music and voice are timeless. glad we still have his music to listen to, RIP GREGG
Thanks for watching....I have uploaded Gregg's Tribute Concert to my channel...Cheers!
Saxophone on "Whipping Post". I never thought I'd see that.
Making music was easy , and natural for Greg!
Yea I agree boys, that's a tasty sound.....gotta love it. Keep it alive out there.
Cant say enough. HIS VOICE IS A ONE AND ONLY..Still crushing over him even now
I miss him so much, nobody will ever be like Gregg Allman, what a gift.
Gregg is one of ta best musicians still alive best enjoy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11
RIP
I'd love to see Gregg on an episode of Daryl's House.
That would be terrific!
Yup that would have been great.
R I P
Damn, why didn't Daryl think of that
Gregg was too much of a Southern gentlemen to deal with Daryl's ego🤣🤣🤣‼️ Gregg Allman in a class all his own, Best of the b Best❣️
I have to say, it’s always great to my spirit to hear the Allman Bro’s...my all time favorite music, I sold my ticket to my only Live Concert while in college as I had to work a crappy job to pay my bills
They did a kickass version on the Beacon run, this year. LazyLighting55 has it posted. High quality video, like this one. Will knock your socks off.
Mr. Steve Potts on drums! He played on my drum kit one time. It was a good day.
I met ALL OF THE ALLMAN BROS!!!!!!!!!THY GAVE FREE CONCERTS IN MACON GA FAIRGROUND!!!!!!!!!!
Joe Hanse great joe & i bet you enjoyed. keep fighting & thanks
I like how Gregg changes things up with the songs when he plays with his other band like this.
WOW!! !!!! That fuckin slide grabbed me by the throat and balls at the same time, THAT IS PHENOMINAL!!!!!!!!
...it’s Gregg, I’m ALLLLLLL da Hayalll in...;)!!❤️

One of my songs to. I'm no Angel.
Beautiful. I could not have explained it better. Respect!
Fantastic 😅😅😅😅😅
I love this version

As a boomer, if they said, you can only bring five albums with you to heaven, ALB Fillmore East Live, Led Zeppelin II, TBD, TBD, TBD ...
This is just amazing, how much fun they have! I love the groove and the sound of the hammond. Great! Does anyone know, if there is a high-quality version?
Damn cool version.
I hope I get to meet him one-day.
Maybe on the other side

I like the choppy Hammond b3 playing
I wonder if Mr. Allman remembers Big Daddy's Lounge in Daytona?
man the rhythm section....what swinging MTF`s...train going stronging....heavy duty this...man, man...
top class
Sax player showed off too much, but this version was a good one. Gregg was a national treasure! I adore this man. 💔
I know this.😇😎🙏🕊🌍🌞💛🙌☝😪
Legend Live !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is Darryl's House still recording as of May 2017? If so, GET GREGG ON IMMEDIATELY. yeah.
He looks so good here...last time I saw him was '04 w/ Grateful Dead at the Gorge & he looked like death walking. Think it was shortly before his liver transplant.

That voice, God bless
I was in the Smokey mountain s and heard the band practicing what a treat. I got to meet them and what a thrill.
How great is his laugh?
you could check with A&E.
👍👍👍👍👍👍
WHOA
Low Country is Coastal Ga
I wonder if Greg ever experienced the word’s to this song in real life?
Figuratively perhaps.....
Sounds exactly like the Howard Stern interview, which came after.
Glazed. Oooh.
the guitar was about to go OFF! but then sax…
Or simply The Gregg Allman Band. Is there any thing he can't sing? Course he's been singing this song for 42 years.
He got the new liver in 2010.
Dickey and Gregg are talking again?
Yeah, lol.
0 dislikes!
Hope you recovered from the last procured Greg
Outstanding lead guitar player. Who is he?
GARRY HIXON WAS HERE
Nice Alternative Rendition .. I prefer the Original with ABB Musicians
True, he whined about the sun in his face when he sat down and wanted to leave ASAP.
He looks tired. Or worn out.
blah deBlah
to ask if Greg Allman and Dickey Betts are talking is to presume that Betts is capable of talking.
I've never heard Dickey bad mouth another musician. Not his style.

It's like presuming that you can spell. The man's name is spelled with 3 'Gs." GREGG. Make me look bad and correct it...
you in the wrong neighborhood

Night-Prowler ...YAHHHH!! Bonnie would’ve rocked da livin’ bejeeezusss outta it, kindred spirit and all...;)!
Nice eye candy, but, damn, what a maroon. Her, not him

Lol. You have great teeth. So do you. Really? Wanna date. Lmao.
Just not the same without Dickie he’s one of the originals. to me, he’s just as important as Greg and his brother were for the band.
This is The Gregg Allman Band not The Allman Brothers band.
Didnt care for that version
