  • 1959 Ford F100 Truck Instrument Cluster CVR REPAIR Gauges ADJUST Episode 3. Here I detail the symptoms and solution for when the Fuel and Temperature Gauges both stop working in 50s, 60s, and 70s, Ford Trucks. The Instrument Cluster Voltage Regulator is an easy DIY fix. I also show how to adjust OEM Gas and Temp Gauges. Applies to all classic 57, 58, 59 and 60 F100 Custom and regular Cab pickups. 1957-1960 are the 3rd generation vintage Ford's and removal/installation for repair or replace.
    Drok part no. 90597. Input voltage: DC 12V (9-22V), Output voltage: DC 6V,
    Output Current: 3A.

    Good job! This video is extremely important. I'm restoring a 60's F100 and the cluster stopped working right, the indicators got up to the max. I couldn't get the "OEM" DC regulator in my country (Colombia). However, here I could get the Drok DC converter, fortunately.
    When the indicators work with 12v is very feasible that ones stop working in a short time Thanks you for sharing!.

    My 57 f100 gas gauge reads way too high. Installed new tank, tank sending unit and dash volt meter. Gauge reads past full when full of gas. Gauge reading does drop as I use fuel but never much past full. So which side do I adjust to get proper reading.

    How is the Drok wired? Do you connect the two black ground wires together to ground and use the red and yellow as power in and out?
    Thanks.

    Why are the gauge clusters off center from the steering wheel mine's like that kind of drives me nuts

    • @DonWSquared
      @DonWSquared  Před 4 lety +1

      Or... Why is the steering wheel is off-center from the cluster?!? lol And what about the design on those rear cab corners? Like intentional moisture traps! I've got a couple questions for those '50s Ford engineers for sure.

    Don,
    Do the gauges run on 6 or 12 volts?

    • @DonWSquared
      @DonWSquared  Před 4 lety

      They run on 6 volt. Odd that Ford did that after they went from 6 to 12 v in the 50s. If your old CVR gives out they will read incorrectly. Same on all Fird trucks into the 70s.
