I think all of us as artists struggle during the process of painting. I've seen artists whom I think are drastically better than me, rework their paintings where it almost doesn't look the same. One of the things that I can't seem to break the habit of, is being loose at the beginning, and geek free to deviate from the guidelines I set out for myself. So embrace your painting process, because I think it will only improve with time. Your results look awesome!

I paint in acrylic so everything dries fast. It's more like a sculpture to me. Layers and layers of chipping away the "ew why'd I do that?“ Love when my friends come over and are like OMG you can paint?! And I'm like nah not really lmao

You have the eye to know what’s not correct then keep going through the mistakes and find a face in the end. Even though it takes longer it’s still a popular way of painting . Takes me 10 times to find something I like . You get that nice peachy female skin that I like in the first one .. Great vid hope the leg is healing well .✌️✌🏾✌🏻❤️🇦🇺❤️

I love hearing your thought process behind your pieces, it’s super interesting!! I really like how you are so open to always improve further, I think as an artist or as a person with any sort of creative interest, it’s always important to want to get better at what you do and to not settle when you think you’ve done your best piece. I can also relate greatly to when you talked about the way that you paint, how it’s not a straight line to get to the end results, but a lot of messing around with the painting until you get it to be where you want it to be. I’ve never really heard anyone talk about that in a way that I could relate so much. My paintings are 99% of the time A STRUGGLE. Things look wrong most of the time painting, until the very last few details.

Nice. The trick that helped me more than anything was to avoid using white until near the very end. It tends to wash out other colors and create a need for constant over painting. If I get the values and proportions going from mid tone to dark instead and use the white of the canvas I can usually get a portrait ninety five percent done and then add the white tints at the very end. The total saturation is also a lot better.
