That Lawrence Fishbourn is excellent
both are dope, but i like most, how the girl looks like a piece of clay for several minutes until the face gets more detailed... hahaha.
Wow, helloo! I don’t follow your channel but I know you’re a great artist. It’s good to see you here :))
Aaayyyeee Ten Hun
taking this as a sign to start painting again (motivation is hard to come by these days) - thank u!
Yessss! You got this.
Woohoo!
I think all of us as artists struggle during the process of painting. I've seen artists whom I think are drastically better than me, rework their paintings where it almost doesn't look the same. One of the things that I can't seem to break the habit of, is being loose at the beginning, and geek free to deviate from the guidelines I set out for myself. So embrace your painting process, because I think it will only improve with time. Your results look awesome!

ALSO MERCH RESTOCK AUGUST 20TH!
I paint in acrylic so everything dries fast. It's more like a sculpture to me. Layers and layers of chipping away the "ew why'd I do that?“ Love when my friends come over and are like OMG you can paint?! And I'm like nah not really lmao
i love acrylic, and find it especially gratifying in portraits
Jeannette,y0u ever try a retarder(golden acrylics are awes0me!)or a slow drying medium?0r you can m0ve 2 FL,nuthin dries fast in this humidity! L0L!
@@stevenknight6393 I use a retarder from time to time but you lose some opacity. I'm in S. Ontario so I'm surprised anything dries here either with humidy at a steady 80% If I painted in oil I'd be screwed haha
@@jeannetterw Im using oils right n0w & I wish I had done acylc 1st,n0 turning bck n0w! I gotta work thru the *ugly* stage,& waiting is the hardest part.)))
@@stevenknight6393 One day when I have more room I would love to try oils. My "studio" is a french box easel I move from the kitchen table to the back porch to make room 😂
There's a website called ThisPersonDoesNotExist. Computer generated faces. Just keep refreshing it, something may speak to you.
is that so you can paint the faces?
Thank you!!

I absolutely love this. I love that you're new to oil painting and don't have that academic approach that most artists have. Learning from your mistakes and putting it out there. Makes us noobs feel like we can do it as well!
You gave me life. I feel capable. Thank you.
You could put out 100 videos just like this and I would watch them ALL. So chill, so much to learn. Thanks man.
I love how every colour is delicious for you hahaha I can't say I don't agree tho
yeah they are all delicious tbh
You paint portraits how I do atm. I’m impressed with your commentary...”delicious “ is a favourite. I really like how you show your mistakes, boy we can all relate. Keep it up.
You have the eye to know what’s not correct then keep going through the mistakes and find a face in the end. Even though it takes longer it’s still a popular way of painting . Takes me 10 times to find something I like . You get that nice peachy female skin that I like in the first one .. Great vid hope the leg is healing well .✌️✌🏾✌🏻❤️🇦🇺❤️
I love hearing your thought process behind your pieces, it’s super interesting!! I really like how you are so open to always improve further, I think as an artist or as a person with any sort of creative interest, it’s always important to want to get better at what you do and to not settle when you think you’ve done your best piece. I can also relate greatly to when you talked about the way that you paint, how it’s not a straight line to get to the end results, but a lot of messing around with the painting until you get it to be where you want it to be. I’ve never really heard anyone talk about that in a way that I could relate so much. My paintings are 99% of the time A STRUGGLE. Things look wrong most of the time painting, until the very last few details.
Love to hear the passion you have for your art in you oil paint “rant”. It’s very inspiring!
Glad your back and doing better! Another badass video from the Slew Dawg
I have to tell you that I really like your videos. I've been your follower for a long time but I haven't commented yet. Very inspiring and because of you I found the courage to start a channel and show what I do in the arts. God bless you

Yo Slew; I like the way to make the changes on the painting without laboring over them. They both came out very nice - I especially like the girl, nice job, Bud!

Glad to see you back painting. Great art and content as always.
your not scared of messing up through out the process, a lot of painters like myself start to panic. and you just have so much confidence in not being okay with the painting untill its okay😍. I love it.
Amazing. Thanks for the inspiration and "nudge" to get started painting today!
Love this video. Please make more like this! Have a great day!
Great paintings! I appreciate that you tell us about your having to redo certain areas (like the eyes). It helps us who are learning and having those same issues not feel so down on ourselves when we have the same issues. Thanks!

You are talented ❤️
I hope to see the next videos from your channel ❤️
it's awesome ❤️
This is really great. Such an excellent painting.
Your videos are just *chefs kiss*
Nice. The trick that helped me more than anything was to avoid using white until near the very end. It tends to wash out other colors and create a need for constant over painting. If I get the values and proportions going from mid tone to dark instead and use the white of the canvas I can usually get a portrait ninety five percent done and then add the white tints at the very end. The total saturation is also a lot better.
I love the way you filmed this! I think it would be an awesome vid idea to show how you typically do your video/ painting timelaspe process for artists!
Базаранет , классно получилось ! Niiiceee maaan !))
Your art is so dope!
Love your honest experience expression
Your art is amazing and you have improve so much!! Keep making videos, hello from Bogotá, Colombia!!

I’ve always wanted to just hang out with the Oracle. Just chill and eat cookies. I would just chill with her and eat Golden Graham’s, but.......there is no spoon.

I feel you, sometimes I introduce black at the beginning stages and regret it, looks great tho
The editing on this video is 🔥🔥🔥
You're an amazing artist Love your work Slew.
- newbie artist from Philippines
realy usefull!!! keep going!!!!
Hey, would love to see you do more oil paint if you feel like it! It feels good to see you go from one portrait to another and watch you become better everytime! Love from france
Amazing job. I knew it was Laurence 🤗 been back to my art for the last couple of years after about 20 years away. Not touched a portrait yet though. Just still life and mixed media.
The second painting is amazing love that actor and that seen as well
So glad to know I'm not the only person who has to completely repaint an eye, nose or mouth and move it 1/4" or more to one side! I get so frustrated! But good to know it's part of the process. :)
Greg Haskins that was wild for me to see that process too... I use watercolor, so 'moving' features around in a portrait seems super difficult for me...
I'm using the same pallette for a portrait i'm doing for my painting class. I have spend like 25 hours and it still looks like the first layer!!! Maybe it's because I'm trying to copy every detail.
Love your art!!!
Best bro best
Just the kick up the ass I needed to get back at it, nice👍
Wow. This really motivates me to paint! Im only a beginner, but because I use acrylics its not quite as easy to correct the mistakes.
Amazing... 👍👍👍👍👍
