Even though it is a bad idea, I understand the intent because Snyder planned his DC saga to be a modern-day Arthurian tale. So, Superman would be King Arthur, Batman is Lancelot and Lois is Guinvere. If you know the tale of King Arthur, what broke the Knights of the Roundtable was the affair between Lancelot & Guinvere that broke Arthur's heart

@@srstriker6420 that would've been cool. Good casting too. In defense of the whole Lois/Bruce thing, evem though I don't much care for it, it does make sense. There's heightened emotions on both sides, they were both there when he died, and he was actively fighting alongside him, they both try to console each other, and nature takes its course from there. If it breaks bro code, it's a very minor infraction considering the bro is dead and gone forever as far as they know. Still, the idea of having accidentally cucked Superman when he comes back feels like adding unintentional insult to injury, so I'm glad that this was very much a first draft idea that got scrapped.

Zack's plan definitely sound a bit cluttered. They could really streamline it by axing the Legion of Doom stuff entirely and focusing on the Knightmare future, Darkseid, and the time travel elements solely. And instead of “Bruce Kent" I'd much prefer Superman training Jon as Superboy with Clark having the black and red “memorial" emblem on his suit in symbolic memory of Bruce and his death (I think that's a little more powerful than sending your twenty year old son to live in a place he has no connection to, while donning the suit of some guy he's never even met. It made more sense when he was Bruce's son but without that connection that epilogue feels groanworthy and self indulgent on Zack's part).

Also worthy of note is that I don't believe Martian Manhunter waa in those future plans, or at keast not very prominent, and he went out of his way to add those scenes that introduced him rather prominently. He also chamged the Bruce/Lois relationship well before hand, and that was thankfully a first draft idea that stayed in the first draft. I think we'd get the same broad strokes, but like every obsessive creator, he'd likely try to tinker with it until he was satisfied.

Zacks original idea was to have Superman get cucked on by Batman just like how Nightwing found out how Bruce impregnated Barbara just when he was trying to renew their relationship.
Now apparantly The supposed plan is to have evil superman(how fucking original) with Snyder's reason being he wanted to take Superman from one extreme to the other, to break his morality and I guess make Superman a more interesting character by giving him this character arch? But what character arc? In the leaked plot, evil Superman was going to disappear when Flash runs back to alter the time line. Superman was going to have no memories of evil Superman. Superman was never going to meet evil Superman. That's not a character arc. Superman learns nothing. It's like having a nightmare were you're a bad guy and waking up with no memory of that dream you had. Not only does it not matter because it's not reality (it's a dream), but it doesn't even effect your view of yourself or the world because you don't remember it, you don't confront it. The Knightmare timeline would be fine as an elseworld story, but in a Justice League trilogy it baffles me that it was a plot point. Why waste so much screen time for a plot that gets erased without a trace? Maybe Snyder would have fixed it so Superman remembers, but who knows. Also, this isn't Superman being evil, he was just brainwashed against his will and saved through presumably no effort of his own. No lessons learned and no aspects of his character fleshed out, no agency. Just a complete waste of time
Following all this garbage we would have had an ending where Clark and Lois do have a child to themselves but apparantly this child for some reason has no powers and will be named Bruce simply because Batman makes the ultimate sacrifice (again how original) and he will grow up to become the next batman.
They name their child after the same person who tried to kill clark and who zack wanted to cuck clark with and they want their child to go down the exact same road of insanity as this person. Not only that but this completely undermines the entire plot points of man of steel. That through the codex, the kryptonian race would continue through clark, so the child they have not only should have powers but be based off the real current child of superman and lois, Jon Kent. Otherwise this whole bull of being the bridge between two worlds was hollow plot device that had no real value or weight. To hell with Bruce Kent.
If Zack wishes to continue his vision, he needs to seriously reevaluate how he is handling some of these characters and ideas he is planning, Superman especially. Otherwise id largely prefer a full on reboot with better handling of the characters and less focus favoritism for batman.

After taking some time to sink thing in, it's incredibly interesting to imagine what movie we would have gotten with Snyder's vision continued.
While the drama between Bruce and Lois sounds out there for sure, especially with the twist about the child, I do think overall the story sounds quite interesting, and like you said, Snyder himself went back on it and had a different outcome with that later.
I think what has me interested most is other possible League members who would join the fight. Shazam! was still in the works, but it's likely he'd show up as well. Martian Manhunter, Green Lantern, who knows who else could have made appearances.
But I think what sells me the most is the sense of finality for it. I guess I'm just a sucker for solid conclusions, one of the best things about Avengers: Endgame to me was partly feeling that it was a strong point to call it finished. Obviously, it didn't end there, and it's unlikely the DC films would have ended there for good either, but I like seeing the story like that come to a close. At this point, I think we're just waiting to see what goes next, but damn, that alternate universe where these films happened sure sounds crazy.

There’s some cool stuff in these outlines but the whole Bruce/Lois kid is ridiculous and unnecessary, especially with the epilogue of that kid being the new Batman? It sounds like bad fan fiction. Also does Zack love Lois Lane or something, why must both Superman and Batman look to her as their only link to humanity?
It also seems annoying that all the Knightmare stuff wouldve been undone with time travel and no one remembers that timeline. At least in stuff like X-men days of future past, wolverine remembers his future, and he did more in the past than tell one person one bit of information. The way they do the Knightmare stuff here makes it seem like a big waste of time by the end of the day.

Taking his movies as a self-contained story, I think it absolutely works, but I don't much care for the idea of Batman dying and staying dead when the ending would've helped to completely open up the whole DC Universe. A DCU without any member of the trinity feels off. I feel as though he would probably change even more of the fine-point details in future drafts, and all in all, I'd love to see some version of what he had planned, even if it is either exclusive to HBO Max as either more live action movies, animated films, or even graphic novels.

They greenlit him doing his story, then tried to shoehorn something else that was never intended to be designed to follow a Marvel Studios model because WB didn't want to go to the extra work to build something from the groubd up on the side. They've also historically this weird thing about hating multiple versions of characters existing in film and TV at the same time because "audiences would get too confused" or something, which probably lent to their feelings of not wanting to do something more expensive on the side while Snyder told his self-contained epic and left. Thankfully, they realized this concept of a multiverse is a thing that exists, and their embracing the multiverse conceit more.

In other words, if the approach used for Batman had been used for all the heroes, in a Kingdom Come/TDKR-like universe where the heroes return after a long absence. I feel that would've given Zack the creative freedom he needed, with no need to worry about "setting up the universe" and all that crap.

Until a couple of weeks ago, I would have said that Snyder's JL2 and 3 were toast. But with recent changes in ownership, I'm not so sure anymore.
I'm hoping that they _don't_ just jump in head-first into JL2; at the very least, give us a sequel to Man of Steel. Use that sequel to correct the characterization of Caville's Superman, taking lessons from the TV show “Superman and Lois”: show Superman becoming more genuinely heroic and caring, and less driven by fear and tragedy - that's a Batman schtick, and Superman doesn't need it. I'd call the movie “Man of Tomorrow”, and have its theme be about embracing hope for the future.
I'd also like it if other Leaguers got similar character-building movies; though The Batman, Wonder Woman 1984, Aquaman 2, and The Flash haven't hit the right notes (The Batman is cool; but it's at the start of his career), and it's too soon to do another round; but maybe we could get something good for Cyborg and for Green Lantern?
_Then_ give us JL2 and 3 more or less back-to-back, similar to how Back to the Future Parts 2 and 3 or Matrix Reloaded and Revelation were done, but adjust the ending of JL3 to end right after Darkseid's defeat, leaving room for a more open-ended future where each Leaguer gets a chance to earn the “happy ending” Snyder envisioned for them, in their own movie.

  • @christiancarrazana9534

I personally loved what Snyder wanted to do, including Bruce being the father of Louis’ child. The idea is not stupid like some think but realistic. Obviously, the consummation occurred after Superman was dead. And the thought was then that Superman isn’t coming back. This sort of thing happens in real life. Plus, it makes sense for the story. The Flash had to tell Bruce he is the father to give Bruce the courage to sacrifice himself.
Snyder wasn’t interested in making a rated PG film but instead one that is thought provoking and consequential. And make no mistake, his story was consequential. It’s an adult film, not a Disney flick intended for kids.

I would rather Zach Snyder end his involvement with Justice League and go off on a high note. These ideas sound promising, but the issue is execution. Justice League was good and much better than I expected, but at the same time I remember how divisive BvS was and how the uncut version of that movie didn’t really change people’s minds, people who liked it before still liked it while people who disliked that movie felt the longer version didn’t add anything to make the quality better. I just don’t think Zach Snyder ever really got Superman. Even though I liked the MoS I felt like that movie tried to deconstruct Superman and make him darker to try to make him more interesting and I’m kind of getting sick of how we have to deconstruct and make the more “vanilla” heroes darker to make them good characters. I feel like his Superman will be lacking to me even if he overhaul these ideas. I fear he might unintentionally keep replicating what he did with Watchmen for varied success rate, worked for MoS, split the base with BvS, and worked for JL. I respect his vision and the attempt to make these stand out from MCU, but I really think if these ideas had happened they wouldn’t have been as good as the JL movie we got this year.

  • @awesomusprime8611

I’m so glad we won’t be getting any of this. WB is making the right decision leaving Snyder’s vision behind. This just sounds terrible. Even if there are some slight changes due to this being the original plan, most of it would still be the same and it would suck. I’m tired of seeing Zack butcher these characters and stories. We need to move on from the Snyder and push forward to a new DC cinematic universe. And if they want to do a reboot then they can have a Flashpoint movie where the current future is fucked and Barry goes back to change that and give us a better, more comic accurate, timeline and then they can start the DCEU from scratch. WB needs to ignore the Snyder cultists who refuse to believe anything about his films is bad and claim that anyone who does so are just stupid haters, hating on Zack because they think it’ll make them cooler. This isn’t the 90s. Forcing yourself to not like something popular doesn’t make you cool anymore. Zack has no respect for the comics as seen by his butchering of the characters and his lies about the comics. He said that Batman killed in The Dark Knight Returns. And his brainwashed cultists just believed him. We should get a new hashtag going to promote moving on from Snyder’s DC universe so that we can get the DC movies we deserve.
