    #TheFBIFiles #TrueCrime #TheKKK
Season 1 Episode 6: On June 21, 1964, three civil rights workers disappeared in Mississippi. After they were found lynched in the rural deep South, the hunt began to find their killers. With little evidence other than the bullets left inside the three innocent workers, the FBI had began the task of linking the bullets to the weapon, and later to the killers.
The FBI Files is an American docudrama that takes a look behind the scenes of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's crime laboratory.
Real FBI cases are recounted through reenactments and interviews, due to the sensitive nature of the show, viewer discretion is advised.

An update on this. Edgar Ray Killen, AKA The preacher, was convicted of murder for his role in the "Mississippi Burning" murders almost half a century after they happened. He was also the only one that faced his charges because he was the only one still living when the state of Mississippi decided to reopen the case. He died in prison at the age of 92 in 2017.

I've watched the movie a few times. I had my children watch it when they were 10 & 8. I wanted them to learn what happened to Black People in America, it was the first movie of so many more about racism and the justice system. They live on their own now and we still watch informative movies & documentaries, as well as read articles. Our focus is on Indigenous People in Canada the last couple of years and there is so much to learn, which we will continue to do. They might not be purely true; however after the movie we google and see what we can find out and have discussions. I'm so glad I did because true history is still not being taught. I am thrilled we have these discussions.

My best friend took a job teaching in Mississippi in 1993 because there were no teaching positions open to her where we lived. She went to a job fair and landed a teaching position in Mississippi where she continues to teach to this day. She told me long ago on several occasions that the war is not over and that believe it or not there is still active segregation going on in the small corner of our country where she lives and works. Not the kind of segregation that is illegal, but the silent kind that is unknown to the rest of the country. I believe her. I have been to visit her several times and there is a silent feel of segregation that the rest of the states will never know.

So if a person is fearful/insecure, there is a greater chance that he will hate other people who cause fear/anxiety in him. Sensitivity/hurt is also part of the basis. Usually those characterisitics are combined in a person. However racial hatred is usually taught at home.

Thats the thing, they would go wake people up at 3a.m. every single time a church was burned.
      Every.
      Single.
      Time.
"Heya, We banged on your door and woke up your kids who have to go to school tomorrow, did you know that there was a church burned 80 miles away?" or "Excuse me Ms. XYZ, did you know that the club your husband goes to just killed 3 men by hanging?" and I don't know if it was true but they would tell the kids that they thought their dad had murdered someone. Most kids who had been told that murder was a mortal sin (religion is/was big in the south) would find it hard to reconcile their own father being a murderer even though the victims were black.
      .
Going after the kids may have been too far, thats closing in on terrorism in its self, but it still stands that they would act on the very edge of harassing to tell these Klan members how much damage they were actually doing. A lot of these guys held doubts about what they had done, or what they knew others had done, so hearing about tens and hundreds of cases just multiplied their doubts. Men who thought burning a church or vandalizing a home was acceptable would be disgusted at hearing about every single murder as it was discovered. Someone who really thought they were protecting their family by following the Klan would very quickly turn informant when they had an FBI agent tell them several times a day that their "friends" killed, beat someone, or burned down houses and churches.

The movie Mississippi Burning is a great watch. It’s not an easy watch but difficult things shouldn’t entertain, should they? This fight for civil rights is what bravery is, not stomping on police cars and screeching at people eating dinner at restaurants.

We are all the same just have different cultures and skin .. there is only 1 race and that is the human race .. it would seem that evidence had been destroyed accidentally on purpose like my mom used to say. I don't know how it works in certain states in the US but lots of covering up and sentences being changed .. no one was charged with murder and its stinks and corrupt!! Show them the real images of what they did to those lovely people . its so wrong human beings to act this way and they should of been held accountable for what they had done. These were peoples cherished lives and peoples children and families .. its wrong in many ways but i do feel the legal system stinks always have and always will be ..

Edgar Ray Killen was convicted on the 41st anniversary of the crime and died in prison on Jan 2018. He got to live another 41 years after he took part in these 3 murders. Remember back in the mid-60s, the state of MS wouldn't bring charges and didn't care about investigating or prosecuting these murders. Cecil Price, the deputy sheriff, only got 6 years, serving 4 1/2 and this only for violating their civil rights, not for murder. It would've been good if the MS AG had been able to bring those murder charges in 2001 before Price died. There were so many racist KKK members and sympathizers who could've been brought to trial before they died. I know many of them were old and grey but they deprived many people of their lives so why should they have gotten to live out their golden years in peace.

Leaving the dream. What a joke. It still goes on today. My Asian workmate and I from Australia, went into a hotel bar in Alabama. When we walked in, everybody turned and looked, then they all walked out. Then the hotel manager said our rooms were double booked and we had to leave. Our rental car that we had parked outside had been stolen so we were stranded.
The problem for the authorities was that they discovered that we were there to approve a big development that would have made a lot of money for some powerful local people. Back in Raleigh NC, we called a meeting and informed the lawyers for the land owner that we would not proceed with the deal. They lost $75million.

He got the owner to load the TV in his car out back, and Scarpa and the FBI Kidnapped him, took him to a remote location, and mobster Scarpa tortured him until he gave up the location of the bodies.
