More May Madness - Homestead update

- The seasonal wheel has rolled round to the month of May again and Rob's forest garden is growing like mad! As ever Rob is overwhelmed as to what task to tackle first. Whilst keeping a close eye on two freshly hatched goslings and one of his honeybee colonies possibly about to swarm, Rob, far from being the king of prioritisation, decides to distract himself with some strimming whilst leaving the more important construction & maintenance jobs for another day. Though his brush-cutting efforts are quickly curtailed by the relentless intermittent rain.

Great video as always, Rob! We're already looking forward to the next! Thanks for sharing your peaceful place with us all... all these years! Enjoy May! :)
So much to do so little time 😂 lots of changes I see and looking forward to seeing the new ducks, Cheers Rob 🦆
Lovely walk through your gardens. Love everything, the mama geese, the bees, fruit trees and currants, the rain, your cat. Thank you for sharing! Good luck with your grass!
Thanks! 😁
Really nice property. Love all that nature ❤
Great to see your video, Rob... lots to do and the weather isn't helping. Hope the ducks like their new home.
Hi Rob. Wow the grass has taken over somewhat hasn't it? Never an idle moment at your place then. I hope Tilly and bub are doing well.
Thanks for showing your place. It would be nice to learn from you some of the basic ideas you're implementing to make your place better to live and better for nature also. Is this covered generally in a video or do you do visits as such? I've been to the Mendips once and it was impressive hiking up the escarpment facing South onto the plateau above. A suitable place to live alongside Nature.
Thanks for the lovely comment. I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. And yes, I do conduct educational tours sometimes. In fact, the next one is in half an hour! 😆 You can book one through Airbnb Experiences, there's a link on my website: www.robsfoodforest.site
Hope to see you on one soon!
I wish I could entice a wild bee swarm to take over the one, lonely bee box I have standing in the middle of my garden. Perhaps its too close to the house. Its just the bottom portion as I’ve never added another box on top. I set it up in the middle of a wildflower pasture facing south but now I’ve begun taming my wildflowers down to sections. Maybe a vacancy sign would help! 😂 Anyway, great video. I really enjoyed seeing the geese.
Thanks! How about trying a little lemongrass oil inside 🐝😉
@@robsdiscovery i had forgotten about that trick!! I’ll try that. 🐝🐝🐝
@@robsdiscovery great! I opened the box to find a mother mouse with her wee ones. Now I have to wait. But thanks for the advice. When she vacates, I’ll clean it and use some lemongrass eo. Thanks again!!
@@thevagabondsageinthewoods Awww, at least the box is being appreciated by someone 🐀😌
