  • In this video the build takes a Impressive turn as we start the biggest part of the restoration, cutting the side of the car off and exposing what's underneath, it seems like too much metal being cut out but its only half way through :)

This stuff is awe-inspiring to me. I'm in the middle of a project where I've cut off a rotten outer sill to reveal much more rot inside, and now I feel like I'm in way over my head. I keep watching videos like this as it gives me the confidence to carry on.

I know that feeling! This channel has helped me hugely: Steve and Ryan make it look easy, which it isn’t, but equally it’s not _that_ difficult either if you just take it one piece at a time. You’ll get there 💪

@@philipthoreau3590I keep thinking about it, but whenever I'm at the workshop I get engrossed in what I'm doing and forget all about the fact that I was thinking about videoing it. But I'll try to keep it in mind now that you've mentioned it.

As an old Ford Man, who's had a few MK1 Escorts in my time.
It's really good and interesting to see someone doing real 100% first-class work.
It, as usual is a pleasure to watch.
And brings back of my ex's 13Xl and the maintenance I did on it, and wax oil I put on it.
But it was only 3 years old. so, no rust then.
I will look forward to seeing the next video of this RS2000 with great interest as brings back so many good memories 😊 ❤️

But one question makes me doubt about the sense of this work : Why not simply find another car in good condition, even if it's not an RS2000, and adapt it? How many hours of work for these repairs versus adaptation? I can understand for a unique model but for a Ford Escort?
    But anyway, really good job.
