In the larger plots it is great to split half in perennials and half in your annuals OR split annual types so that there is always something growing.

It's so hard to know what to plant for deer and turkey like if you watch Jeff Sturgis he's all about whitetail and he says you don't plan totes with any type of Brassica in a turn-up is Brassica

Getting multiple opinions is always a good idea. We also recommend trying different things until you figure out what works best for you on your specific site, with the time and money that you are willing to invest. We're happy to answer any question you might have as well!

Planting turnips with oats is okay. What Jeff gets at is don't plant turnips and oats at the same time (both seed in one seeder), because the size different between the seeds.

Why not seed native legume and aster species rather than non-native forage plants?

If we wanted native plants, we wouldn't seed anything. We would let the native seed bank germinate and manage it from there. But, we wanted a food plot in this specific location for hunting purposes.
