    Brilliant video Dave. I absolutely LOVE Arran. Spent many happy days / weeks on holiday there. My best friend was born and brought up on Arran. Her mother was the Registar for Arran back in the day. The people of Arran are just lovely. I’m Ayrshire (Ayr) born and bred and always sing the praises of the Isle of Arran. I’ve managed to convince many a foreign traveller to visit Arran, and Ayrshire of course. 😊. Haven’t been over for a couple of years due to other commitments but your videos always keep me in touch and I feel my heart strings pulling for a visit soon, definitely come Spring. All the best Dave and hope your videos keep coming. Sterling work! PS: no way you look 58-years-old! Must be the famous Arran air! 😁

      Yes, that would be fine. Arran is a great place...if you can afford to buy a house. Lots of jobs friendy locals and beautiful landscape. Cheers Pete

    Great video Dave, you've brought back some fond memories of the Isle of Arran.
    I spent 10 summers there in the late 60' and early 70's.
    I love the Isle of Arran and travelling over on the MV Glen Sannox (1957). Its been about 30 years since I was there last. Quite a difference to the pier 😆 lovely to see Brodick Bay and goat fell.
    Many thanks 😊👍

      Thanks. It sounds like you're due for a visit someday soon. I made a video 2 weeks ago of the Waverley going round the whole island on a special cruise if it's of any interest. Cheers czcams.com/video/76-k7P8pFto/video.html

    Cool video, I was there on June 1st on my bike for a cycle round the island on a day just like this👍Its such a beautiful island, especially on a beautiful day like this👍You and your guys do such a good job, I have only been over 4 times but its always been very easy to get on board both with the car and the bike and I can't wait to go back again this year! I have been on Caledonian Isles and Isle Of Arran but haven't experienced Alfred yet so this was a good insight so thanks a lot for the video👍

    Hello Dave. I been working a lot of different ferries in many diffrent sizes 4000 GT-40 000 Gt. but never on a catamaran. I have never seen a vessel like Alfred. Does she have any sisters ? Very nice upload/ Thanks Adam from Sweden

      I've not heard of a sister vessel like the Alfred. She won Fwerry Of The year and is very efficient, I know that though. She is so smooth as well, very nice to travel on. I hope you go on her one day

    Which one is better, Monohull or Catamaran

    • @davetheraverovingtherock
      @davetheraverovingtherock  Před 3 měsíci +1

      Both have advantages. Monohull is a bit more capable in rough weather... a bit smoother, but more expensive to build.

    Is accommodation a problem on Arran? That's a lot of people coming to and fro..

    • @davetheraverovingtherock
      @davetheraverovingtherock  Před rokem +2

      Accommodation is a big problem....holiday lets are fully booked well in advance, but particularly accommodation is a big problem for locals. The population is declining rapidly and there are no long-lets ever, at all. All the employers can't get staff anymore. A big change. A popular place!
