Todrick Hall has come a long way from performing High School Musical in the parks. He’s gone and made 3 amazing albums, he made himself a broadway star, and now he comes full circle to produce the music for this amazing parade. It’s a great thing to see
@@sherrymcmahan6260 It's so beautiful at night! The Moana Float is stunning and so is the Frozen Float. The ice lights up like crazy! Also they have colored lights that project down on the street to the beat of the music. Its so perfect in the evening.
Oh my gosh oh my gosh this parade is freaking amazing!!! If you haven’t been to see in person it is a whole experience!! The songs are so beautiful and the costumes and floats and choreography are in a whole new level holy crap! The older parades have their moments of top level choreography as well. This is just such an awesome parade!!
The superb parade float is gorgeous and the best The music is also cool and it seems to be dancing The Japanese Disney Resort was closed from February 29 to March 15 due to COVID-19 and Japanese Disney fans are very sad, but watching this video made me feel a little better
Ok... so to give my official review of Magic Happens, based solely on this video and a couple others I found, I will be using a number of criteria and scoring them using a scale of 1-5, 5 being highest using the categories of: Costumes: I give costumes a 4 - I LOVED all the detail in Cinderella's dress, a total win!, but OMG Maui's costume looked good but the poor dear was very limited in his movement and thus I call that costume a bit of a flop. I think my Coco spirit animal has to be that bunny following the Coco float. I want that costume lol. Honestly Maui is the major reason this lost a point, that and the over the top advant garde style of the general cast members in the parade. I just... I loved the colors but it was like Disney was trying to put on a Lady Gaga concert lol. Characters featured: 4 - My first thought was Where's Rapunzel? She has literal magic hair... Or Merida? there was magic involved in her film as well, however I LOVED that the Blue Fairy was there, and that they had the entire float for Sword in the Stone with Merlin and Arthur
There’s something missing from this parade...it seems almost empty? I don’t know how else to describe it. I feel like maybe there’s not as many dancers as previous parades? Not sure. Also the costumes on the dancers at the end are so boring and underwhelming.
I think might be some float distancing issues they'll probably improve on. e.g. between Mickey's and Moana's. Looking back at Soundsational videos they're about the same with dancer count per float, plus minus some what looks to be intentional humorous oddities like poor Kristoff chasing after the Frozen float alone.
One thing I noticed is that there is no character dialogue in the floats. One example is hearing Mickey in Soundsational saying things like “Music to my ears!” I feel like possibly adding dialogue will help this parade a bit.
Floats and costumes designs are great. Not too big a fan on the first song on the first half of the parade. I did like the second half better. The problem is the overall connecting song just didn't make me want to get up and dance or sing along like at all the other Disney parades ( Paint the Night, Festival of fantasy,. Soundsational, Move it Shake it MousekeDancit!)) I understand it's more pop song style but good pop songs are catchy. You can tell just by looking at the crowd reactions to each song in the parade, if the majority of the crowd is bobbing their heads to the beat then the song is working. Perhaps it will grow on me after a few more watches.
All I’m gonna say is that the Choreo did not sell the song ! The song is very different than before but this when you can play with it there’s a lot of musicality all I’m saying is that I could put together a better Choreo with more energy!

Not a fan of the score. The floats are pretty amazing. And the performance seems lack luster and...boring? Wish there was something a little more “Broadway” and timeless with more energy
Alright so in my opinion this parade is visually stunning, I LOVE the Coco, Moana and Frozen float (althought Sven on this one was quite disappointing, especially since they found a much more brilliant way to bring him to life in Disneyland Paris's Frozen 2 show, so why not doing the same here?). But the music. Gosh the music. It didn't feel magical. It didn't make me feel like dancing. It wasn't catchy AT ALL and seeing Disney characters dancing on it made me feel a bit uncomfortable. So yeah visually it is absolutely breathtaking but that music. PUHLEASE Disney, consider the idea of redoing the score from scratch. Walt must be rolling in his grave at breakneck speed.

@@speeddash4979 Well what can I say. :) if I was at Universal and saw a parade featuring this music I wouldn't mind at all... it but this is Disney. I need to feel the magic! Even Tokyo Disney's latest "Dream Up" parade soundtrack has a very distinct techno-ish feel to it, yet the tune definitely feels upbeat and magic, in my opinion. So yes, there is a way to properly blend magic and modernity at the same time, I just don't think they nailed it here. But I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it!
I agree with you about Sven. he is better in Disneyland Paris (i'm french) but the Frozen float is more beautiful with trees. the blue ice is more realistic here than in DLP. From my point of view.
@@lydia8730Ah ben tiens, bonjour à toi ! :) Yeah those trees add a lot to it although I'm in awe at the French one when sunlight shines through the fiberglass ice, it looks absolutely amazing. I don't think this Californian one would look as amazing under the same circumstances. Also, their Olaf is kind of creepy :)
It was nice. I especially liked the floats for "Moana" and "Coco". Very beautiful and very original. But if I must be honest, this new parade is not exactly at the same level as the Main Street Electrical Parade, the Pixar Parade and the Soundsational Parade. At least for me. And I thought the songs were a bit generic and not particularly catchy.
Floats are awesome but the music and scoring are not magical at all. Even the dancers are awkwardly dancing on it . This could be the worst parade soundtrack from Disney.

Unimaginative repetitive parade music - not intertwined with themed floats or Disney in general. Won't see me watching this parade. Disney continues to lose its emotional and heartfelt music for Pop songs. Sorry Walt!

Hmmmmm.... Uhhhh... Man, I was expecting great things from this new parade. It didn't do anything for me. I'm not humming. I'm not tapping my toes. The song isn't in my head. I have every Disney Parks parade soundtrack on my Playlist. Anaheim, Florida, Paris, Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong. I'm just not into it. I doubt it will even grow on me. Costumes were nice. Floats are OK. If I heard it on the radio, I would never guess it was a Disney parade. Back to the drawing board. Hopefully this parade won't last long... Sorry 🙏 Disney.

Pretty dang cool they did something with Sword and the Stone. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Wart anywhere in the parks before this.

Why is Merlin’s robe so short? He looks more like the Merlin from Shrek 3 than he does the disney version.
