While I don't necessarily want a spirit blossom rerun, I would be very interested to see seasonal holidays for every region of Runeterra. Seeing stuff like bilgewater or freljordian holidays and mythos being done like spirit blossom sounds super interesting
imagine spirit blossom but champs are used to repesent primal demi-gods
We technically have a little bit of this, since Bilgewater has the Harrowing which happens so often it might as well be seasonal, but it would be cool to see some more events that demonstrate the culture and folklore of the regions. Tellstones was supposed to do that, but they haven’t made any since Demacia.
They would never do that because they would have to cherrypick champs for it since "WE NEED TO SELL A TON SO WE HAVE ENOUGH REVENUE FOR THE NEXT LUX SKIN" but defo would love to see it. Especially freljord, such an underrated region with its gods and folklore. Sad to see that riot would rather stick to the overused regions and just make them come from some ol' small town somewhere in shurima/demacia or wherenot. Truly a shame.

i really love the spirit blossom skins; they’re definitely one of, if not my favorite skinlines :] i wasn’t playing during the time this event occurred, so a second batch would be nice for me personally so i could experience it, but i think it’s quite perfect as it is already.
same! i really really think that if i played during the evnt, this skinline would be stuck in my brain forever. the lore, the skins, the champions, the novel EVERYTHING is such an eye candy. having star guardian being my first "real" event isn't that bad but come on- the only thing I truly enjoyed in my first event is the lore and music :|
@@n_nash_h yes i agree!! i think that the skins would've had such a greater impact if i had played during it. also it's sad because a ton of champions i really love were in it haha. and star guardian is my first "real" event too (i started at the beginning of this year) and it's like. okay. but definitely not as nice as any of the ones that came before it in my opinion

My favorite skin line, Ahri is the one I use the most because... I main the champion, and love that they went a more kami of prosperity Inari route with her character. That said I agree that the skin isn't as interesting as others in the line!
You could actually tell a lot of passion went into writing the lore for these skins for this huge summer event!

Spirit Blossom is arguably my favorite skin line, that being said, I don't really know if i want another batch of it because, I really don't know if Riot would be able to pull it off, I feel like they would mess it up somehow. If they can pull if off though, then I'll take it any day of the week.
I think (for the moment) they are doing ok with the line. The champs I play the most (being Syndra, Soraka and Sett) got a really good treatment with the skin line (but I would've loved to see Syndra as a legendary skim as well, that's a shame). Darius, Yorick, Tristana, Evelynn and Aphelios also look amazing. I just hope the event doesn't suck and is similar to the old spirit blossom one

We NEED to have a Spirit Blossom like idea (champions meant to represent myths) with Bilgewater or the Freljord, the possibilities are massive
Spirit Blossom Yone was so good and popular, that at one point I genuinely thought that was his base skin.
It'd lowkey be kinda neat to see you do a video on rating or tierlisting all the events riot has ever done. We talk about PVE so much I think we forget about some of the PVP modes that had merit, like Dark Star.
If Odyssey (please riot bring it back pls pls pls) isn't top 1 I'll be just..... marginally pissed I guess
I really like spirit blossom and think it's by far one of the best skin lines there is, but I personally think that instead of just re-doing it and washing it out like so many other skin lines, they should rather to spirit blossom-ish events that explore the culture and/or myths etc of other regions. At least I think that could be cool. Great video by the way!
I have to agree, spirit blossom was explored as much as it could be, but other regions still have stuff going on. We don't know much about local mythos surrounding Noxus and Demacia, besides their core beliefs and general history. Even if its not mythos based, there is plenty of general culture stuff that doesn't have to be canon but can still be cool, like give champs a solari/lunari skin line that isnt eclipse.
Yes! I'm not the only one who realized that the laugh in Spirit Blossom Thresh made me immediately hear that Lord Garmadon was the voice of Thresh!
I love Spirit Blossom so much it was the first event I fully grinded without getting bored or annoyed at all. The skins are amazing and what they brought to the lore was even better.
However please never bring it back. I already know they’re going to fuck it up some how. Riot’s gonna look over their champions and randomly slap Seraphine in there somehow

I really like it. It just feels so smooth to play. The animation is so good.
I don't think you have to hate on SG thought o make it good. SG is older and the technology for animations has improved since. Look at Project Vayne vs Sentinel. Sentinel isn't the greatest and Project is still good but you can feel the slight age in it.

But that might be a good thing, as the star guardian event has gotten me to stop playing league for a while.

I LOVE this skinline and the EVENT. Even though i dont play lol much, i spend my entire month playing because of this event. Not just playing nexus blitz, talking to every character and learning more about them gives me joy. I played characters like yone which i wouldnt play normally and loved them.
However I wouldnt like to have a second batch. I think this should be the only spirit blossom event and be special.
Also i think we have unbound thresh and porceline kindred thanks to this event. A sad bad side of it.

looking at riot with how they are going with events, I believe its for the best that we let it be one batch of skins. I didnt play the game when the skins were released but man, I just dont want riot to ruin the magic of this event

I feel the reason why Spirit Blossom worked so well it's cause it's a character/skin centered event whose story is all about deepening and exploring your relationship with them. The other 2 have these big world ending threats and contained storylines but the monetization remains skin based so the story is bogged down by having to include so many useless characters and they still don't have time to explore any of them.
The keep doing these events mostly because Spirit Blossom was cheap with the same engagement rate as an entire PvE event, but they kept increasing the scope without increasing the ammount of resources the development team needed to fulfill it and thus we end up with dissapointments cause the management is too cheap or too ambitious for what they have.
The music in the thresh dance animation is a bop.

The Spirit Blossom event is what introduced me, as a fairly new player, to some of my favorite champs today. (Lillia, Thresh, Kindred) I really like the thematic and designs, and I have so much nostalgia for the event. I think additions to the skinlines might be very cash-graby, but I wouldn’t mind more east-asian inspired skins, I have a huge weak spot for them. If they could pull it off, hell yeah, go for more!

I absolutely love this skin line, and though I’d be head over heels for a new gen of SB skins, I’d rather they keep it to only these, because any new ones might not live up to the status of these. my biggest League regret is not being super active when this event was going on, I had no idea co-op v. ai games (which are my primary mode now, and the reason why I can’t do the SG event) existed when this event was running :’)

Now that Udyr has his rework I’d love a Spirit Blossom skin for him since his new model is just so good.
I really like SB and while I wouldn't mind seeing it come around again, I'd prefer if we got Vastayan, Shuriman, or Bilgewater myths instead. It's a really nice way for them to world-build
i would like to see spirit blossom comeback to see what interesting myths of ionia they could personify, but with riots current design habits i am really nervous about wishing on the monkey's paw

this event for me is leagues peak not only did i reatch diamond during the event but i loved all the skins from this event theres not a single one i dislike. the yone and yasuo animation we got was also just top tier and personaly i love champs that are mention in lore only to come to the game you name it kayn, sennah renata. arcane sorta

Do project next, please! There are a lot of project skins and have been around for a while but I feel like there is a pretty wide range of quality within the skin line.

EDIT: every guy who watches this just remembered their childhood.
The Visual Novel was also fun. I loved hanging out with these characters, hell I'd totally have stayed in the spirit realm to be with Cass or Thresh, I had nice gal pal energy with Vayne and Riven and even Teemo wasn't too bad. But the two Visual Novels have been so bad since then, the one thing I like about the Star Guardian one is Taliyah, Rell and Sona being on the neuro diverse spectrum. Sona getting overwhelmed by noise is relatable to me as someone with Autism. Taliyah learning how to be comfortable in her own skin parrells my trans partner. Then Rell being hyper aggressive to protect herself from harm is how I was after I finished school where I was bullied, plus being otaku. But Kai'Sa is such a damn stick in the mud or just has no personality at all.

The only champs that are really fitting of the spirit blossom for a rerun would be ones like Ivern, Anivia, and maybe Jhin as some demon of art or something. It’s not that the skin line is too narrow in scope, just that it’s main story is done.

Even though I didn't play kindred at the time of this event (I do now and love the skin), it was still by far my favourite one yet even though no skins were released for champs I played and was enhanced by the fact that we were still in lockdown so both me and my friends had so much free time to just fuck around in nexus blitz and summs

Spirit Blossom is the pokemon black and white of League events, when they said "No more big events" I feel like this was the final thing that the design team was allowed to touch before the marketing team decided the turn all of Riot into a Muppet in order to milk it for money. And now that is how it shall be forever because 12 skins that are bad but based off popular stuff paired with an event that took 5 minutes to make is how you make money without spending money and therefore that makes the most profit so quality is redundant

One of the coolest things you can do is put an unexpected champion in a skin line. Star nemesis fiddle, Dark star jhin, spirit blossom kindred to an extent. Makes you think about other skin lines. Project Ivern? Spirit blossom Volibear? Old God Cho'gath? Crime city wukong?
Wooooow Omega Squad Teemo is one of my fave skins of all time.
i love the SB event, and as a kindred otp the only thing that bothers me is that they said a long time ago "ionian kindred is represented as a bird and a snake" and now its just wolf in a different colour and lamb is not lamb, she's interesting, like, at least they could've called wolf a fox?? 😭the rest of the skin is absolutely gorgeous and their story for the event is adorable.
