I think you're forgetting that Nebraska had Grant Wistrom and Jason Peters and just because they didn't go forever on the pros they were still good players.
Killing the Oklahoma-Nebraska annual game was just a mistake. 2023 and almost anything good about the sport has been destroyed by greed from the schools and the networks.
Well, Georgia Tech (four years and running, pardon the pun) and the Naval Academy (for at least the last 10 years) have run the option with little or no problems. These two teams have shown that it can work today without a doubt.
Between this and the Kansas game, Nebraska played their two worst games of the 1995 season and STILL won 78-3. How Florida wasn't scared to death going into this game, and how SI and ESPN said they were going to win the Fiesta Bowl is very puzzling even this many years later.
Nebraska struggled on offense in this one. They also played their best game of the year on defense and special teams. That's what a complete team does. When one part of the game is struggling the other parts pick up the slack. In the end it was yet another superb performance from the Cornhuskers.
I'm not a Sooners fan by any means but a 33 point point underdog lol. I miss the old Big 8 Conference with Nebraska, Oklahoma, Colorado and all the rest. It was a great time to be a football fan in the fall when that conference was alive and well. Anybody else feel that someway too?
The best team nebraska ever beat was in 95 when first team scrimmaged against second team.
95 Nebraska Cornhuskers best team in college fottball history.
Nebraska vs Oklahoma on the day after Thanksgiving,in the Big 8,it didn't get any better than that as a Husker fan! Go Big Red!

Frasier should have a Hiesman trophy, but a least they made up for it by giving Crouch one before the Huskers really tanked.
I sold concessions in the stands for this game, great memories and what a great team

Great memories of one of the great Husker team of the past!
The Husker defense was badass. Holy crap.
They where like an F 5 tornado.

This was the end of an era in several ways.
Wish the Huskers played like this now...
