  • There are so many great things to consider when moving to Charleston, SC. Where to live is just a small part. I always suggest taking some to learn to fish.
This is a link to the Charleston Tour Playlist:
    • Understand Charleston SC
Here are some of the best areas on Charleston that are near the water:
    James Island - www.natwallen....
    Johns Island - www.natwallen....
    Mt. Pleasant - www.natwallen....
    West Ashley - www.natwallen....
Smelling the SC coast every day is such a relaxer for many people living in Charleston, but taking the next step by boating in Charleston, will make you truly appreciate the lowcountry and all that it has to offer.
We have boat landings everywhere in Charleston. And if you want to know what it is like moving to and living in Charleston, this video will help you learn to fish from one of my favorite people.
Donnie Smith is a fishing fanatic. I got lucky when buying a home because he happened to move in right next door the same day. Yes, two homes were for sale right next door to each other.
His family bought one, and we bought the other.
As a kid growing up here, I always had a boat. I was never really that in to fishing though. Sure I shrimped, and crabbed and would occasionally drop a line in the water, but as I got older, and the joints got more achey, wakeboarding every day was not the magnet for me that it once was.
There has also been a cottage industry developing around inshore fishing. Yes, you can fish offshore here, and that is certainly something that many people enjoy when living in Charleston, but that process can be a little daunting, as there is lots of preparation, and planning, and it is more of a commitment.
Even if you are a first time boater, or if you think fishing might be a good way to go to retire in Charleston, then inshore fishing for spottail bass, trout, flounder… even tarpon… it’s all so easy and a big part of living in Charleston.
It does not take long to get hooked on fishing (pun intended)… all it takes is a little knowledge about tides, bait, and the willingness to go out and learn to fish when moving to Charleston.
I hope you enjoy this video and make sure to call to text Donnie Smith at 843-557-8533 to get some insight so you can fast track your plan when learning to fish in Charleston.

Another excellent quality video...great job Nat! I'll be visiting Charleston for my first time and will be driving around looking at neighborhoods. Do you have any suburbs that stand out as being reasonably affordable and close to the beach?

Just got back from Seabrook, a fantastic weekend in Charleston. Booked a place for the US Open on Kiawah next year, that'll be a fun weekend. Now as beautiful as the low country in the morning, its a nature preserve of all kinds of animals.

Wow, as a local inshore fishing CZcamsr, I am super impressed with that drone footage. One of the regulars on my boat just got a drone but he’s way too scared to get the footage of us casting towards the drone. I’m not a guide so I’m not looking to highjack your thread. Just wanted to pay you a compliment. You might know my wife. She’s the publisher of the Post and Courier.
Anyway, I know how hard it can be to edit and just wanted to say well done!

This is one of about 70 videos on my channel. This is where my wife outfished me….. again. She tends to do that!
I only do this CZcams thing as a hobby. I’m not trying to get subscribers. Didn’t even know what a subscriber to CZcams was two years ago.😆
If you ever want to shoot a video of a low country sunset cruise, PJ and I have the next to last property on Steed Creek and a 16 foot aluminum “creek” boat on a lift there. Not what I fish from but with her little boat it’s about 25 or 30 minutes to the ICW.
The sunsets and reflections are amazing.
As a CZcams guy I know the challenges of keeping things fresh and this might be a good way to introduce folks to Seewee outpost, seewee restraunt, Bull Island Ferry and even McClellenville. “ The Drinking Community with a Fishing Problem”.
Anyway, if I can help out in any way feel free to reach out and I’ll give you my contact info.
