Did you know that up to 80% of women will develop uterine fibroids by age 50? Well, I am no exception. I recently had an open myomectomy to remove fibroids - lots and lots of them. In this series, I will open up about my life with fibroids, surgery, and recovery. In part 1, I'm sharing what led to my fibroid diagnosis and how I ended up needing surgery to treat them.

Thanks for sharing your story. I'm sure women who are on the journey of wanting to become a mom very enlightening if they're facing similar issues . Your story almost sounds like it could have ended with " She noticed my pelvic was swollen and it was a baby." I have heard it so many times until It came to mind. However, I am sure when the time is right you'll have a little angel on the way.

Hello, I also have a uterus full of fibroids and all of these symptoms. I'm planning for a myomectomy. Watching your videos it seems you had an amazing surgeon, highly skilled at fibroid removal. I'm in the UK and it's hard to find highly experienced fibroid specialists. Many of them recommend hysterectomy off the bat! They seem to not have the confidence to remove multiple and large fibroids. It's frustrating. I want the best care and want to be in the hands of a doctor who is skilled and confident. Can I ask the name of your surgeon and which hospital? I didn't quite catch it from the video. I'd like to look at her credentials just for knowledge. Thanks!
