@@rideordie6886 That's precisely the reason I'm getting one. I love scooters they are loads of fun, but I'm digging the ergonomics of a motorcycle with the simplicity of a scooter mashup. Scooters are fun to upgrade and much cheaper than modding out a Grom or other small bore. I'm not sure what color I'm going to get yet but I asked for the nut brown or ranger green. I'd take the color you have too if that's my only option. Anything but red lol I actually have a 22 Grom SP shipping out this week for me too!

Can you please explain what are the results in practical terms. Lighter weights results in longer time to reach high speed and more torque?
I would like to lower the RPM and possibly have more end speed. Just like adding a bigger pinion in a chain transition. Thank you for all your videos 👍🤝

  • @markpinther9296

I went with the lightest weights possible with the S23 kit because I go about 240 and the Navi was struggling up hills. Lighter weights in the variator are better for faster response for heavier riders. At least that is what I have heard. I also replaced the clutch with an S23 at the same time and it made a huge
difference. Makes me wonder if you ended up doing the same.. I will look around at your videos. Not sure what a stronger contra spring will do for speed and power etc.

That cvt looks just like a gy6 honestly. I would try either a ncy or oko or bang jing variator for a gy6 150cc. They also make them for the honda np50 but I would try the gy6 version first. Just match them up if it isnt the same size send it back. All the gy6 150cc variators are the same size and I think that will match up honestly. Youll only be able to use the back end parts not the front drive face since yours has those gears for that to work with the bendix and kick starter. And I would try Dr Pulley sliders instead of rollers just measure the size youll find what you need. Ive done a ton of experimenting and researching on cvt tuning for the gy6 setups. It is a noticeable difference in sliders vs rollers performance. You should also look into the clutch springs as well. If you want the clutch bell to engage sooner get lighter rpm clutch springs. Should be 3 of those in there. Stock might be 1500 rpm you could drop down to 1000 rpm for quicker engagement.

@@lanleyc433 you place a socket in between the teeth on the variator while the flat side of the socket is flush with the crank case so that the variator does not spin when you need to loosen or tighten the variator nut (most sizes will fit, not just 21mm). When loosening you need to place the socket up against the top of the crank case and the variator teeth, and when tightening you place it on the bottom of the crank case and lock the teeth to stop clockwise rotation.

Basically the roller weights change how much rpm the bike can spin up to. Heavier roller weights gives the bike more low end torque and the lighter weights give the bike more top speed. You need to test different weights to see which one you prefer.

Any tips or advice would be great. One of the old Honda guys told me 30k miles should be doable for the Navi before any serious mechanical issues. Compressing the new spring by hand to get it all back in the tool kinda defeats your comments about safety.

WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS? You HAVE NOT EXPLAINED WHAT THE PURPOSE IS. I would like to upgrade my gas golf cart. If I know what helps more torque and quicker RPM.

Why did you go with blue? You might as well have kept it stock at that point... needed to go red or white.

Just came with the kit… honestly after owning it for a year and only having 600 miles on it I don’t really use it. If I want to go fast I just hope on a bigger displacement moto. I purchased the Navi out of boredom last winter and lost the excitement. Yes I like the simplicity of navi but no matter what you do and how much you spend on the Navi (which I could have bought two of them) it will never be what you really want… but thanks for telling me I bought the wrong bike 😆 but I’m glade your getting ever ounce of enjoyment out of your Navi!
