    For any newbies, these are complete upper and lower assemblies that were assembled by PSA at the factory, not to be confused with upper, lower, and rifle "kits", which are separate items that PSA also sells that include the parts for you to assemble the uppers and lowers yourself.
    Just know that if you buy a lower or upper "kit", it will not come pre-assembled, and you will also need to buy a stripped lower and upper receiver and build it yourself or take everything to a gunsmith.

      Thanks for clarifying that @B_R_ , you’re correct they are full upper and lower assemblies from the manufacturer.

    When my son signed up for the ROTC program at his university, I bought one of these exact same set ups so he could practice with something similar to military issue. Its not the same, but close. Since I was an army SAIROC for many years, I started having him practice, practice, practice. He did have a headstart due to me having AR's for many years. He started shooting mine when he was 6 years old, but I didn't have him field strip it. He ended up going the enlisted Army National Guard route so he did very well at boot camp. Anyway, these are worth the money and have never failed us.

    Very nice rifle setup. However, I cringed when you allowed the hammer to fall on the bare frame! We were always taught not to dry fire the rifle unless it’s assembled. Peace!

      Literally came here to say the same thing. I saw his finger on the trigger and immediately thought in my head "don't do it man, it's not worth it". 😅😅. But hey, he seems new to the AR platform and at least he's aware now.

      I did that several times with my first AR, I didn't know anything about firearms and definitely not ARs. Never hurt anything I don't think. I still have it 7yrs later and shoot it all the time. But yeah everyone told me it's bad to do. I knew about rimfire guns and dry firing from being a kid and my dad yelling at me.

    I've owned several psa uppers. Recently I bought another one. I slapped the upper on an Anderson lower. I tried to pulling the charging handle but it wouldn't budge! I took it to a gun store who initially couldn't pull the charging handle either. They finally removed the handle. I told them to throw it in the trash! I bought a $79 charging handle. I then had a friend work on the upper. It's easier to run the handle now. Obviously psa does not test fire their uppers. I will not buy anymore uppers from psa. Tomorrow I am going to test fire it. If it's not up to snuff it's going back to psa!

    • @PM4MEDIA
      @PM4MEDIA  Před 2 lety

      Thanks for sharing your experience Robert. I believe PSA has a lifetime guarantee, so they should replace the charging handle and take care of any issues. Please let us know how it works after you get back to the range. I’m also not impressed with the charging handle on mine and might swap it out.

      @Simon-talks Před 2 lety +3

      Yeah that’s just little refinements in the grip and stock etc. doesn’t make any difference in the shoot ability , accuracy or long term durability of a rifle. Most modern day AR’s will last and shoot well all the same. Like comparing a Honda to a Mercedes. The Mercedes’ might “look” a little more refined but it won’t last longer than the honda or get you from point A to point B any different. Just paying for a tad more “fluff”(and paying for a lot of brand name and tribe psychological influence).
