- We had the triangle of doom appear on the dashboard while driving in some pretty nasty conditions. Plugging the GAP IId Tool in, we found the code P132b-21 which is a problem connected with the right hand turbo. In this video we try to get to the bottom of it. #rangerover #rangeroverl322

I'm happy knowing that the actuators are working at the same rate, will see if it happens again.
I was watching a video on CZcams last week, the guy had the same restricted performance problems, he bought it like that,it seems that he got lucky, when he was delving into it from underneath,he knocked a hose off, which turned out to be vacuum to the actuator, it wasn't sealing so he just put a cable tie on it, and it seems to have fixed the problem, until he posts another video,👍👍
According to my local tame LR specialist the lower inter cooler hoses never fail, he's never had to change any on any 3.6 V8's. Mine had a sticky actuator on the left bank and exhaust manifold separation on both sides!
My L322 had this. I ended up changing the passenger side cam cover. Been running shite ever since and I've finally saved up enough to send it to an enthusiast garage to fix all theissues. Good luck. Looking forward to getting ine back on the road (eventually!!)
It will be nice to have it running properly, these cars are just too good to have sat about.
Had This on my 09 TDV8 Westminster about 6 months into ownership! It turned out to be the intercooler hoses! I doubt that’s the issue with yours as you have the silicone upgrade and a lack of black smoke under acceleration!
Then a about 18 months into ownership I got it again!!!! Turned out to be a leaking rocker cover gasket! Took it to my local LR Specialist and got quite a shock with a £600 bill £50 part and £550 labour! Quite a job!
Love the channel have been watching you for years! Keep it up Ben!
Don't really fancy doing the rocker covers, if it comes to it I will. But I think it might just be a glitch somewhere in the electrics, fingers crossed for that anyway.
@@Bensgarage if it was the rocker cover you would have a noticeable oil leak down the side from either or both banks!
An electrical issue makes more sense! We all know the L322 loves an electrical gremlin!
I often get 'Restricted Performance' come up on mine if I give it a boot full, if I stop, switch off and start up again - its back to normal. I tend to drive it like there's an egg on the accelerator to try and get some mpg, then don't get the 'triangle of doom' 👍
I’ve had one from 76k to currently 134k miles. It happens a couple of times per year. Turn it off, wait 5 mins, turn it back on and all,is fine. I’ve always put it down to a sensor getting a dodgy signal. I put a couple of bottles of Wynns diesel system or DPF cleaner in the tank afterwards and it’s fine again for a good while. It usually happens when in cruise control at 70mph and it accelerates slightly.
Sounds about the same as mine. I'll keep chucking some Wynns cleaner through it, and see if that keeps on top of the problem.
@@Bensgarage Wynns seem to help my DPF full issue that happens from time to time.
Great video again Ben, … I learned something new today! I wonder though if the lubricant doesn’t get too hot so close to the exhaust and turbo charger?
Thanks, I’m not too worried about it being too close, if anything the heat might dry it out a bit.
If it was a boost leak, it should have been repeatable. I could trigger my error very easily. Partial trottle uphill, and there was the ding.
Your silicone hose kit lacks the four hoses connecting the intake to the valve covers. Two elbows at thefront, and two straight ones at the back. In mine, it was the elbows that were leaking. I got some silicone hose from do88, cut them to size and replaced them. All sorted.
Not always, if its not major enough boost leak, it might only come up in certain situations. Just need to look for smaller pipes in the induction system.
Edit; I dont know the induction system of the 4.4, this is just generic advise.
@@AdBul_ This is a 3.6 anyway. The 4.4 is not a dual turbo, as such, but a compound turbo, so there will not be a differential pressure issue.
Cheers Ben - am looking at another RR now 😆 Always good to see the woofs involved 😀
I think the mutts like their cameo appearances, well they like going for a ride.
Thanks Ben, good to know and bear in mind. Be interesting to see if comes back. Are the actuators vacuum controlled? Have always used VPower Diesel for last 2 years. Also using Liqui Moly Ceratac as oil additive when doing oil changes hopefully reducing friction. Did a nice 300mile round trip to Norwich last week, gave it a few bootfuls to give it a clear out. All good. Mines on 119k atm.amd going strong! MOT in a couple of weeks time.. hope the inverter gets sorted soon👍
The actuators are controlled electronically (I believe). As for the inverter, that's toast and out of guarantee. Hoping Growatt will send me a new motherboard and then there will be a rant video, explaining it all.
Did you check the exhaust gas temperature sensor?
Oh mate not good news there that’s the problem with diesel range rovers matey u should stick to the trusty petrol less to go wrong
Still plenty to go wrong on a petrol.
