- There were two funiculars in downtown Los Angeles, but few people know of the forgotten Court Flight. Angels Flight and Court Flight were located just three blocks apart. Angels Flight had a three-rail system whereas Court Flight had a two-rail track for each car. If you're interested in other similar railways take a look at the story of the Mount Lowe Railway and the Los Angeles and Mount Washington Railway--both in Southern California.

I road Angels Flight a few times as a kid in the 50's. 5 cents.
Check out this video on the last days of Angel's flight: czcams.com/video/SEeGtkybr10/video.html
Downtown LA has been ruined beyond belief & recognition. I speak as a native of LA who was born in Chinatown in 1958.

I always wonder who's house that is at the top of the hill at 0:41 ? Obviously an early wealthy resident but that house is gone by the 1920's or so.
I would guess that that home still stood in the 1960s. Perhaps someone that sees this video will let us know who lived there and how long the home stood.
@@bradbell3744 : Nah, that house is gone by the 1940's, if not earlier ? There's quite a few different videos on Bunker Hill. And that house is gone to make room for the final hotel buildings we see until it all goes away in the '60s.
I’ve seen old pictures but was where the 110 Freeway 🛣️ is now ? Homes ? Was it another street that ran parallel with Figueroa that ran north and south at the base of the hill . Maybe Georgia or Francisco Street .
I don't know anything about that. Perhaps someone else knows.
