For me, the tears start as soon as his voice does. I resisted listening to IZ's version for YEARS because I know the Judy Garland version and I'll admit, I'm a bit of a purist when it comes do music. I don't normally like covers but so many of my favorite reactors had this song on their channels so I gave in and gave it a chance.... and I'm SO glad I did. I could listen to it several times a day for the rest of my life. I don't know what it is about his voice... it's ethereal... otherworldly... hauntingly beautiful.... perfect.

Too many covers sound overproduced to me. I love his above everyone else’s due to its simplicity and that makes it all the more intimate and comforting.

A tradition in the Hawaiian culture, demonstrating Aloha for him and family.
On the day of the funeral when they poured his ashes into the water, all of the semi trucks on the island drove by and blew their horns. It sounded as though the island was wailing in despair for the lost of IZ
I think the truck horns sounded like the old conch shells blown as horns.
Several years ago a good friend of mine who was an Islander turned me on to IZ and he would never talk about his music only tell me what a beautiful human being that he was.

Kamakawiwo'ole (kah mah kah vivo olay) the canoe that his ashes were poured from is the famous Hokulea (hoh koo lay uh) which has sailed all over the world.
La cosa incredibile di questa canzone è che è stata registrata una unica volta al primo tentativo, durante la notte l'artista ha svegliato il responsabile dello studio di registrazione perchè colto da ispirazione voleva registrare questa canzone e la registrò in un unico tentativo.. Generalmente cuando busco una reacción de alguna canción o algo que me hace llorar termino mirando más reacciones de mujeres que de hombres. Muchos hombres ahogan sus emociones y sobre todo frente a la gente o a una cámara. Y eso es lo que más me gustó de esta reacción, que él estuviera al borde del llanto antes de darle al play. Hizo que yo estuviera al borde del llanto mucho antes de lo que aguanto por lo general. Esta versión es tan linda y él irradia tanta hermosura que se siente el peso de su muerte aunque lo hayas conocido por primera vez al principio del video.

We _all_ have and recognize certain genetic predispositions that is why it is incumbent upon us to deal with them properly. Yes, some 'conditions' are more pronounced than others but it was the big man's own lack of discipline, self-control and his gluttony(perhaps, *fed* -no pun intended - or fueled *by* unresolved emotional "issues") So what?! Everyone has problems , ultimately it comes down to a willingness to accept *personal* responsibility for one's own behavior regardless of whatever causes or forces may or may not be to "blame". Granted many do eat themselves to that size but there are many with valid medical conditions like Iz...If you only see (or focus on his weight) it's sad because you are truly missing this man's angelic voice, his beautiful soul, and how he touched millions of people around the world.
