About the album:
Led by the legendary pianist and composer Chick Corea - 27-time Grammy winner and National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Master - The Elektric Band stormed onto the jazz scene in the mid-1980s, making an immediate and lasting impact on the genre. With their electrifying performances and innovative blend of jazz fusion, the group produced a series of albums that set the bar for excellence in contemporary jazz.
Featuring a core lineup of virtuosic musicians - John Patitucci on bass, Dave Weckl on drums, Eric Marienthal on saxophone and Frank Gambale on guitar - the group created a dynamic and electrifying sound that came to define the jazz fusion style. Their collective musicianship was on full display on each album, as they seamlessly blended complex compositions with captivating improvisations.
After releasing five legendary albums in the span of 6 years (now available form Candid Records on all streaming platforms, CD, and the vinyl box set The Complete Studio Recordings 1986-1991), Corea, always interested in expanding the scope of his work, devoted himself to a myriad of other musical projects.
Compiled by Corea before his passing in February of 2021, this incredible and previously unreleased album of live recordings with the reunited original Elektric Band, was captured during tour stops in 2016, and 2017.

Absolutely amazing, I saw the beneath the mask tour in Houston. I believe it was 1990, at Rockefellers a great venue for jazz acts. I’ll look forward to this album release with great anticipation!

Essa melodia é absolutamente poderosa, e também é incrível como a platéia sempre aplaude qdo ouve a introdução, que também é bastante icônica, algo que vc provavelmente ouviria daqui 50 anos ou mais, qdo ela tiver sido plagiada em alguma publi ou coisa do tipo, e mesmo assim vc provavelmente ainda vai lembrar.
Not true. The original Elektric Band had Scott Henderson on guitar.
If Chick says it's the original, then it's THE ORIGINAL.

Not true. The original "Elektric Band" album had Carlos Rios on guitar too, maybe you forgot? Anyway the real "CCEB" members are on "Light Years" album with Franck Gambale on guitar and Eric Marienthal on saxophone, end of story.
@@user-vz4gu5ij2s of course it was a combination of Henderson & Rios. My main point was that Gambale was not the original one. Not sure what u mean when u say "the real CCEB members" ? I guess ur implying that other artists were simply paid studio musicians working on a project. Scott Henderson went on tour with the EC.
