Yes, I am a heterosexual male metalhead and yes I still sometimes listen to/appreciate old school boybands. I simply appreciate decent singers regardless of the genre or group makeup. Now I’m a man of 36 I no longer feel any stigma in admitting I listen to them. I grew up with these guys and Boyzone. All over music TV. Boyz II Men were probably the most talented though.

I had my brother listen to one of their songs off of the Booty Call soundtrack called IF YOU STAY. My brother was bopping his head getting into it. That was probably the closest they came to sounding like a R&B pop hit. When I told my brother, he was in denial. Even irritated that there was a BSB song he heard and liked. It was hilarious. I think if they had a better writing team and producers like Nsync, they could have been even bigger than they were. The 90's was a big cut and paste video decade. Almost every group or choreo dance movie had a big rain scene. In retrospect it's hilarious. I've never heard the last one. Their voices have definitely gotten better as they matured. That was nice.

I was 13 when I first started listening to BSB and decided Brian and Nick were my faves until 1999. When I was 15 and bought Backstreet Boys Homecoming: Live in Orlando and Millennium. After seeing their concert on VHS and hearing the album, I was like AJ is the all around fave, he's the one for me. He was doing the most in that concert, I'd never saw anything like that.
Howie has always been my favorite, I love his sweet voice and it doesn't hurt that he is gorgeous ahahahaha I always thought all of them were handsome in their own way, but Howie always had a special place in my heart (and to this day I still remember his birthday when august 22nd arrives, even after more than 20 years lol). Backstreet Boys has some great romantic songs. No real dance songs. *NSYNC had some decent romantic songs, but I was all into the pop dance that they provided so I was a huge *NSYNC fan.
Nick was lik 14 or 16 yrs here such a cute kid he was but thats the reason he was not allowed to do open shirt or shirt removal like the rest of the boys
