It was himeko. Welt killed himeko's dad in HI3 which resulted in himeko joining schiksal to find out the truth and she died as a result. Welt was so guilty about it he chose to save HSR Himeko. HI3 himeko always wanted to be an astrolog to study stars and other celestial entities like her dad. But she couldnt do it. HSR Himeko's light cone story comes from this fact.

I think they are afraid that she might connect the entire universe ( HI3, HSR and maybe Genshin ) and may prove difficult for the Sky People to destroy stuff again, kinda like how in Genshin the Heavenly Principles keep people from advancing

I think it's hinted in the ending of Alien Space that Welt wanted to save star rail Himeko since he blamed himself for the death of Earth's Himeko. That or he was just talking about taking action to save the world while he can and Himeko's death was brought up cause it's a himeko-centric manga

At Welt only intended to infiltrate the mothership of the Sky People but some stuff happened which got him stranded and coincidentally rescued by Himeko
If I remember correctly Welt found out that forces from the world of HI3 sought to kill Himeko of HSR, so he ventured to the other reality in order to protect her so she didn’t die like the original
Yes and no. Welt decide to protect HSR world from sky people, that includes Himeko. Meeting Himeko was just happenstance.

The main reason he's in HSR is to stop the Sky People, and prevent other universes from their invasion. That's why VA was willing to help him.

That's not all of it. The stranger you mentioned is Void Archives. The same Void Archives from the A Post Honkai Odyssey future. Void Archives and Welt decided to go past the "gate" presumably a portal to the universe of HSR so the invading aliens won't go to earth and instead follow them. Void Archives carried with him a beacon of sorts that makes the aliens follow them and not invade earth. Void Archives also says that the only way to stop the aliens from invading is to go through the portal. Welt, being a heroic son of a gun, decided to go with him in order to save his world and the other universes who might suffer the same fate.

Don't know the exact details on why they separated since it isn't mentioned anywhere else, but if I remember correctly, Dan heng has a line about loucha saying that he looks like the blonde member they had in the past together with welt before the member left. From this, we can assume that he left the express to do his own thing or to continue his original goal of stopping the Sky People's invasions

Very first person to be HoR in CE was Carl Gustav (yes pretty much hi3 version of carl gustav). He was however supressed by 300k souls inside his herrscher core. Welt Joyce was the one to hold the title properly.
He switched to find himeko since in HI3 she is dead and he felt guilty for her death so he decided to protect her in HSR universe.

The mei counterpart in HSR isn’t Ruan Mei, it’s a girl from Xianzhou named Yayi, which is literally just HI3rd Mei’s CN name. We don’t know anything about her though, so she could be of the same level of connection to HI3rd as Bronya Rand or Himeko.

A group known as the star people intended to invade HSR, and after helping prevent their invasion of earth, he then realized their plan, and chose to leave his world to protect everyone else. Himeko, reminds him of Murata Himeko, who used to be a student of his(before a series of tragic events).
Long story short: he's the second Herrscher of Reason
Yeah... For those who are curios, this the short version. But this holds a huge spoiler for Honkai Impact 3rd story.

In his original world, Himeko (whom all Honkai Impact 3rd players loves) was his former student. But they did end up not meeting after years due to some events (The 2nd Honkai Impact). Welt fought in the 2nd Impact but lost his body, his mind getting lost in a space where all dead universe are contained, called the Sea of Quanta.
While he's stuck in the sea.Himeko became a valkyrie of Shicksal, the organization that Welt was leading, Anti Entropy, is rivals with.
After a bunch of events, Himeko died trying to save Kiana (Honkai Impact 3rd's MC). And welt never did get to meet her again. After he found out that the Sky People (the alien race he was chasing in HSR universe) is planning to invade HSR universe, he also found that the Sky People have Info about HSR Himeko.
So he decided to go there, not just to stop the Sky People but to help Himeko. It's weird because the blonde Stranger (who's name is Void Archive, an AI), returned to their original world, but Welt decides to stay even though his wife and his son is waiting for him.
But Welt had always taken on the role of a Hero, not caring about himself if it means he can save Humanity. That's the legacy left behind by his "Hero", Welt Joyce, the person from whom Welt received his powers from.

Void Archives didn't introduced the concept or the existence of alternate universes to Welt, he already knows their existence, he's literally from a world with knowledge and access to the Sea of Quanta and the Imaginary Tree, VA just mentioned a universe where Himeko is alive but is going to be targeted by the Sky People(HI3 APHO), so he went to HSR with VA to save her.
Welt felt guilty to HI3 Himeko's death cuz he killed her dad and was her college teacher, so if he didn't killed her dad, HI3 Himeko would've been just like HSR Himeko living her dreams and wouldn't be fighting against Honkai as a Valkyrie and die sacrificing herself to help Kiana.
Fun fact: welt is German so if you translate welt to English it means world (only if anyone didn’t know)

One of the fact probably he gain back his original power. HSR is basically after end story for part 3 of Apho that main trio Kiana,mei and bronya had return to battlefield. Simple to understand that, Kiana probably restored all herrscher power and gave it to everyone who previous herrscher. That one of the reason why welt still can use star of Eden reconstruct as his main source of weapon

in my opinion i think it was bc he noticed a familiar face (himeko) and saw that the sky people where trying to destroy worlds where she was, so he kinda wanted to save her at least in one universe. Also how himeko said they found him with another person.... that person could be void archives (the blonde guy) and since he took the form of otto apocalypse he looks like him... guess who looks like otto too? luocha.... not to mention that luocha is one of the names otto takes.... Hopefully they meet on 1.1 story and we'll see if luocha is va or he's just the 'otto apocalypse' counterpart of that universe

Not abandoned, he states he is now trying to get back there and he has herta send messages to them to keep them in the loop.
He is a hero by nature and feels guilt over the HI3 Himekos death, he left to save her and is now trying to use the express to get back home to his family.

That being sayd saying Herta can send messages there is a bit inaccurate.
Welt says he has Herta send messages that he hopes reaches his family, he isn't sure if they reach them or not and he has no way of verifying it.
Acording to him be says hopefully they reach his family and not that it's a garuntee.
So its not like he calls them or whatever, he has Herta send messages basically blind into what's hopefully his world and that his family hopefully gets it.
Only HI3 people know why he went there in first place.

Because the stranger is a sentient cube taking the form of his former user. This former user is a man named Otto Apocalypse from HI3rd, HoYoverse other game.
Loucha is the Otto of StarRail, appearance wise.
Fact: In HI3rd Li Sushang and Otto met each other, and Sushang regards Otto as her master/teacher, she often calls him Loucha as in teacher.
And then we have StarRail where they met again. I guess it's fate that they did.

this is the same universe. the imaginary tree is just a system that create a lot of worlds in a single structure which is seperated by imaginary walls. the astral express can go through these walls like Welt and the stranger did maybe by using the technology of the sky people to reach Himeko because the sky people were after her. somehow he cant go back and hopes that his world will be a stop for the astral express one time

Ngl Welt Yang during the Sirin Honkai Eruption is the baddest mf. If I'm not mistaken, it is mentioned that only female body can handle Honkai's power and that's why Valkyries and Herrschers are generally females. For Welt to break the rules, wield the power, and even match God Sirin's power with it is just mind-blowing. And he ended the battle with style too.
Its more accurate to say women have higher chances of surviving Artificial Stigmata. Because the few examples of men who wield Honkai energy in HI3 are either awakened to their own natural Stigmata like Arthur( yes, King arthur was a Natty Stigmata user in HI3), built different like the male Flamechasers (there were probably more in the Previous Era, but the Tragedy of Binding happened), or are Herrschers like Owl and the Welts.

Honestly, Welt's ambitions seem aligned to the Hunt. Maybe 60/40 split between how much of him fits Trailblaze/Hunt paths. He's literally chasing a calamity across dimensions, preventing or at least delaying a fate he knows too well.
