Well, not Roulette & Slots. At least not math you can work around or control. One can count cards in things like Blackjack, calculate strategies in Poker...but Aventurine's kit (even his boss battle's mechanics) seems to specifically use games of chance (and that's clearly a flavor choice due to his blessed luck). So of course Ratio thinks it's chaotic LOL
You got me thinking, though. I would LOVE to see Ratio try counting cards against Aventurine in a game to prove a point, but have him still lose somehow because Aventurine is #blessed. That would make for a hilarious interaction.

Not at all. Only on the bare surface level are Ratio & Alhaitham similar. Kaveh & Aventurine have zero in common outside of being blonds. Aventurine is much more like Kaeya. Incredibly smart (not saying Kaveh isn't smart, he's very smart, just in a completely different way to Kaeya & Aventurine), cunning, a bit crazy and manipulative. Ratio is kind of the opposite to Alhaitham. Really he's closer to Kaveh than Alhaitham. He believes all lives matter no matter what. Believes everyone should be educated. He's a much harder worker than Alhaitham. Alhaitham just wants to do his job and go home. He works as a scribe because it's an easy job.
Basically what I'm saying is if you actually think Ratio & Aventurine are just HSR Alhaitham & Kaveh you don't understand either of their characters and are just trying to shove them into the Alhaitham/Kaveh box instead of appreciating them as completely separate characters.

I don't know a lot about Ratio so I'm sorry if this is out of character
Ratio would probably get all philosophical to cope like he'd pull out Myth of Sisyphus and relate the futility of the guy's situation there to Aventurine's gambling habit and ponder why he kept doing it in the first place, and wonder if he could've ever "put the boulder away from his hands", so to speak. He wouldn't cry, like, I can't imagine him crying ever, but he would DEFINITELY grieve hard. In his own way.
He'd still keep going on and on the outside would look normal (hard to read a guy with an alabaster head on his face) but he'd stay up for multiple days just pondering and thinking. Maybe he'd half-heartedly curse the gambler for his self-destructive tendencies. His self-proclaimed mediocrity could eventually sully into foolishness in his eyes though, as maybe he'd be less punctual, forget a thing or too, get *too* lost in thought about things that aren't "productive."
