22 years in the Submarine force and I still can’t get enough of naval aviation! So grateful for this channel sir! Much appreciated!
And similarly have tremendous admiration for your service.
Thank you Sir Our Vets are the best. You accomplished what I had intended to do in life but unfortunately I got side tracked. Thank you too for your Service 🇺🇸🇺🇸
20 years on submarines for me…UK. I’m loving these videos!
Your ride alongs are awesome! You have the perfect voice to narrate it, calm collected and knowledgeable, and you point out everything clearly. Stay safe and remain awesome.
Wow, thanks!
Bob Ross of the skies 👌🏾
That's hilarious!@@agapeeternal
Thar must be a huge kick in the seat of the pants getting shot off the bow of a carrier like that!!!
This is the best detailed and usable description of the pre-launch and launch operations I've seen and heard yet. By usable, I mean the CCP PLAN would copy the procedures and staff methods from your launch description to re-verify their existing figurative launch operations manual for the Liaoning launch procedure.
One of the most amazing things about CZcams has to be how much access we have to seeing people going about their awesomeness. I don't just mean Pail, who is demonstrably awesome, but the deck crew who move this ballet of certain death with such deftness, that it makes whatever the rest of us do look like colouring farmyard animals. I've long held the belief that naval aviators are the best of the best and I thank you for the window into your world.
Returning to a carrier at night in bad weather, and bingo fuel. You aren't wrong, they are the best.
Somebody's been working on the production value of this channel. Very nice.
💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
I'm always amazed this footage is able to be released. Love it this is the best channel for carrier aviation fans.
The PLANAF is amazed too.
Who is the PLANAF ?

My oldest brother flew F-16s for 20 years and I had never really known how much of a badass he was until I started watching your videos. Granted, he never landed on an aircraft carrier, but thank you, Pail for the talk-through ride-along.
He’s right about the danger on the deck during flight ops. I was on the deck of the USS Hancock (WWII carrier) with its wooden deck and old steam catapults. I’ve also been on prop planes taking off and landing from the Hancock in the Gulf of Tonkin flying into Danang when I volunteered to go in country. I love these videos and thank you sir for your service. Go Navy and to my leatherneck brothers “Oorah!”
My late uncle was on the USS Hancock during WWII when it was hit by a Kamikaze. He was on the deck during the aftermath and kicked the dead pilots' head overboard. His name was Jack McWeeny.
That video was cooler than the cold side of my pillow.
If this doesnt instill some pride and respect for those who are standing watch this Veterans Day, then there is something wrong with you! To all my fellow Veterans and Active Duty personnel like Pail, you have my love and respect today and every day. Thank you for your service!! Merica 🙏🇺🇸💯
Spent 4 years aboard the Eisenhower from 78-82 and love these videos to bring back so many memories . Spent countless hours as a slot checker on Cats 1&2 during my squadrons flight ops . Of coarse the F14 was the King back then . After receiving my back seat qualification i got to experience the rush a pilot feels on every flight . Appreciate your ride alongs . Thanks for your service .
Phew, thank god you clarified that it was in fact, NOT, your signature move. We the people need to know these kind of things! Very important! Thank you for what you do Pail.
😂
Pail, my dad in World War 2 was a civilian flight trainer. He taught new Naval Aviators how to fly, i.e. get them a private pilot's license. At one time I wanted to be a Navy pilot, but my eyesight wouldn't let me, I'm near sighted. I love watching your videos, they help me learn more about aviation. The only thing I can fly is a computer, um ... Microsoft Flight Simulator X, though I do incorporate as much actual aviation as I can. Thank you.
Cheers!
Sir, your audio orchestrations are beyond description -- calm and precise cadence. You've got that night shift calm, in control radio DJ voice. As others say here, you're narration is a Naval Aviators classroom, chock ablock with instruction. Love your channel. Signature move...Fly Navy!
Awsome Pail & channel !
What is Signature Move for non English natives please ? You got my curiosity growing on this one 😊
Thanks
@@hamedouaret5680 Signature move is grabbing the handhold and re-settling himself in the ejection seat. Probably doesn't realize as he's actually doing it!
How many years until we need to be listening for that voice on an airline PA? (public announcement, when the first officer addresses the passengers).
Sir, this has me sitting here with a lump in my throat. Man, do I miss the "roof". The best shot I ever had was as a PAX on a C1 off the USS Midway CV41 back in 81-83. As a flight deck Ordie and the CAG5 Ordnance ARM/DEARM crew leader, I know the thrill of Flight Ops and I will always chime in on any Navy flight deck operations video. Thanks (on this Veterans Day) for "doing your time" and FlyNAVY!
Nicely done Pail. Be safe out there. It's getting crazier
Wow Pail, just when we thought cat shot videos couldn't be any better, you come out with this! I have a co worker whose neice is part of a hawkeye crew on Theodore Roosevelt. My coworker knows zero about avaition, so last year i showed her both a cat shot, and a recovery. She greatly appreciated the info,is now a subscriber, and now understands more about what her neice is doing. These should be mandatory viewing for all Navy families! Thanks again for what you do. And as always...FLY NAVY.
Awesome! Fly Navy!
I enjoy how much love you give to the deck crews! They’re just as vital to the team as the pilots, after all!
Nice editing! Your annotations are already excellent, and the notes make it even easier to follow. Really appreciate all your hard work! And since no one knows when’s the day for active service members, Happy Veterans Day!
I could watch these videos all day long - especially with your fantastic voiceover explanation of everything happening during the launch process.
Glad you like them!
it feels a real privilege to sit behind your left shoulder and watch and listen as you talk us through what is happening. From an ex RAF service person (UK) , respect to you and your colleagues. As you always say ‘Fly Navy’ and fly safe.
Love the new editing....I'm in awe of your professionalism.....watching from Scotland....its a dangerous world...stay safe....
Beautiful professional Naval Aviator. Appreciate the comments. Although I was surface line, I was Communications Officer on the USS Saratoga (CV-60) stationed in Mayport, FL. The CO lived in Norfolk, VA so he invited me to ride in the Carrier Onboard Delivery (COD). He allowed me to fly the COD and I have 30 hours in heaven! Fly Navy.
Sierra Hotel Jam Pail!! Your videos are amazing. Thanks for taking us along!! Fly Navy!!
I really enjoy your videos. I'm 75, was a "land based sailor." USN, 68-74, ETR-2, NAS Miramar, 70-74, I maintained GCA RADAR and TACAN. Back then carriers used CCA, and I was amazed that there seemed to be no cross training from GCA to CCA. We had 3 GCA at Miarmar, then, 2x FPN-36 QUADs and an FPN-52, the PAR section of the old CPN-4 with solid state IF in the receiver. Went to GCA school in Glynco GA, in the old wooden blimp hanger. I also had part time job at Miramar Auto hobby shop, met a lot of great guys there.
Cheers! And TYFYS.
Too bloody cool! Love your narrative and explanation of what's happening. Grace under pressure comes to mind.
My uncle piloted the F4 phantom in Vietnam when I was a kid, it's an honor to be onboard with you, thank you for your commentary and interesting details of your opps. 🇺🇸Godbless America.
Cheers!
Thanks for your service 👍🏽
Love the narration in these videos. Thanks for the ride-along.

As long as I live I'll never get enough of Naval aviation! No one does it better than Growler jams! Thank you for not only what you do but also for these shares! Fly Navy!
Yet another entertaining and engaging video. What a journey - from you early video clips with no voiceover, to this high production-values video!
Perfect narration! The red stripes and the catapult pics really helped me understand how it goes together.
Keep flying Navy!
Pail, love listening to your narratives and flying with you by voice,is a special honor. So perfectly descriptive and easily understood! This whole operation is much like dancing…perfectly synchronized♥️ I thank God in heaven you are a member of our military! God be with you and all of our loyal military personnel.
P.S. please keep the ride alongside coming. I’d love to buy you a few more beers🙃
How you Guys/gals co ordinate this Chaos of Aviation on a Boat in the Ocean is beyond me... ! But you do it with professional excellence.. Cheers...!
Every time I watch one of the Growler Jamz videos I learn so much. God Bless Our Veterans.
Good morning Pail. Thank you for your service. This video was extremely formative . Felt like i was sitting right behind you. Say hello to all the crew members. Cool. And take care.😊❤
Pail, love the new touches! I so wanted to do what you're doing, but eyesight and a few other factors came into play. I did become a pilot and love flying, but getting launched off a carrier is a thrill I never got until you provided a way to experience it. Thank you sir for your service and for giving us old guys a thrill!
Awesome jam! Really appreciated the markings for clarification, and the photo showing the nose gear in tension. Please keep doing things like that. A few of the transition slides at the bit were slightly jarring/sudden, but damn, you're getting good at these. Thanks again!
Pail, thanks for the memories. 23 years US Navy, S-3 TACCO in the mighty WAR HOVER. Never got tired of the cat shots. Miss it every day Go NAVY!!! Wish I had the benefit of your videos in Flight School...circ 1983!
TYFYS
Love the new format Jams, including the visual aids.
Happy Veterans Day to all those that served and survived, along with all those who currently serve.
Work has been crazy… Been away for a while but now I’m back enjoying your vids again! As always they just keep getting better! Thank you for your time here, and most of all THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!!! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!!!
Cheers! You too.
Thank you..., for bringing back the thrill I felt 50 years ago. As commented below, y'all be careful because it is getting crazy out there. God Bless.
Pail, you’ve answered so many questions I’ve always had regarding carrier fight ops. Thank you very much for your detailed explanations.
Right on jams🤘. Thanks for your service! Keep the blue side up and dirty side down👍
Mi è piaciuto molto il nuovo style di presentazione del live. Bentornato.... Un piacere rivederti in azione ❤Anna dall'Italia 🇮🇹
I've no idea what rabbit hole led me to your channel, but sure glad it did. Your videos are a fascinating insight, and man it looks fun on the catapult. Thanks for sharing, appreciate ya sir 👍

Top job as always Pail, you're rocking!

@@GrowlerJams I bet your students love having you as their instructor because you're calm, concise and knowledgeable. That also makes you a great narrator because you make a carrier launch sound sexy 😁
Sir! Awesome and thanks for sharing! Fighter pilots like yourself and from any air force in any country are a breed apart from us mere mortals! Incredibly talented, cool, calm, collected, intelligent , disciplined, at the peak of physical and mental fitness, eloquent and articulate! Thank you Sir!
Love the old school stars and bars on the aircraft ahead of you. Fantastic video, love the new intro! Fly Navy!
Thanks Growler 👍🏻
Hi Pail, I have always loved watching planes, but, this is another level, I am loving this.
Welcome aboard!
thank you pail! very interesting as always.
Amazing and intense - this workplace always blows my mind. Very cool that the DoD is willing to publish sensitive footage like that still for the public. Much appreciated as a hobby DCS Hornet pilot myself. Keep up fighting the good fight. Greetings from Germany.
Glad you enjoyed it!
